My advice is not populate the floors with cars unless absolutely necessary. Think about the Cost Benefit of adding this detail vs adding polygons. And be mindful of how its going to be consumed - a rendered snapshot is one thing, but deploying it in a browser is something else.

Check SEMCOG's website. They have implemented an Open Data portal with tons of GIS Data include building footprints.

Thanks Cheryl Lau ,Brita Austin happy to help out if you need it. What I've learned working in CityEngine is that our built environment is diverse and even when I think I have a cga rule that I can reuse from project to project its not the case, and almost always needs to be calibrated or rewritten to fit the unique site/city/or project. Feel free to contact me - dlavigne@hlplanning.com

It would be great if Esri could implement WASD controls for navigating 3D scenes. As soon as I am in 3D my fingers so badly want to move through the space with these controls. I love how Unreal Engine has implemented this - right click, then WASD. It would make fly throughs in 3d scenes/web scenes super easy.

I'd love to be able to change the zoom level of the cga/code editor - the functionality of the Dashboards is perfect - ctrl +/ctrl -

Surface Studio is nice - but it may not be the best tool for CityEngine. The GPU- GTX 980 is a mobile chip and not super powerful. I would also strongly advise against a Surface Pro as a laptop option.

I have a pretty good PC for home and work, but I use a laptop quite a bit for rule writing. For years I used a Macbook for CityEngine. I have a countless number of hours on both platforms and the only things I've noticed have been minor. My laptop now is is the XPS 15" Touch with 32gb of RAM. I have only recently made the switch from a Macbook Pro to the Dell XPS primarily so I could use ArcGIS Pro alongside CityEngine.

It would be great to be able to intersect shapes to create donuts and to trim them. I notice when I bring in hydrology layers, the islands and water all show up as fills. It would be nice if I could intersect the shapes to create holes in the geometry.
