Looks like the solution to this was to completely remove all the existing data store connections in arcgis server manager, stop the data store service, then rename the data store data directory and restart the service. Then the wizard will let you re-add all the database types and it actually works. Apparently you can't add "spatiotemporal or big data" base type after you've already initialized datastore.

Anyone run into issues trying to add the spatiotemporal database type to data store after it's already been installed and configured with only a relational database? It gives the error `data store runtime error extended error message "failed to get file permission"` The user running the data store service has full permissions to the data store configuration folder. The log messages on the server show the same error. Any suggestions?

Most text editing apps automatically start with the capital key on keyboards enabled, and then after a character is entered return to lower case characters. This is also true for Survey123's text field types. But when you change the text appearance to "multiline" this is no longer enabled. Everything defaults to lowercase and the user is forced to press the shift key on typing, which for non-tech savy people is frustrating. Anyone run into this or am I doing something wrong? This is on android devices btw.

Hi Zhifang, thanks for the response. I think we're missing each other on what I'm asking. I'm talking about the new beta capability in Survey123 that lets you upload a .docx document that can be used report template file. It then lets you export (print) that report document using your browser. This functionality already exists, I've used it, and I'm really just wondering how this works.

This would be very ideal. I have a set of about 40 rasters that extend slightly beyond a set of lakes (polygon features). I would like to mask each raster using these lake polygon features. I want to show the rasters inside of the particular features but not outside of those features.

I'm working on creating a batch kriging tool using the Emperical Bayesian Kriging tool. When I run the tool in ArcGIS pro on a selected set of features, the tool runs and creates a nice looking output raster. It looks like this: But when I copy that exact tool output from a python window, I get the following code: arcpy.ga.EmpiricalBayesianKriging("pond_depth_points", "Water_dept", "point_geostat", r"K:\01696-360\GIS\Maps\2018 Pond Assessment\2018 Pond Assessment.gdb\pond_empbkrig_1", 0.0001953125, "NONE", 100, 1, 100, "NBRTYPE=StandardCircular RADIUS=0.028516880589107 ANGLE=0 NBR_MAX=15 NBR_MIN=10 SECTOR_TYPE=ONE_SECTOR", "PREDICTION", 0.5, "EXCEED", None, "POWER")
# which I translate to this in my layer loop:
def create_raster(points, workspace, row_data, depth_field):
raster_name = "kriging_{0}".format(row_data[0])
try:
# raster = arcpy.Kriging_3d(points, depth_field, join(workspace, raster_name), "Spherical ,0.000005", 0.0000953125, "Variable 12")
# arcpy.ddd.Kriging(points, depth_field, join(workspace, raster_name), "Spherical 0.000195 # # #", 0.0001953125, "VARIABLE 12 0.00015", None)
# raster = arcpy.Kriging_3d(points, depth_field, join(workspace, raster_name),"Spherical 0.2", "0.2", "VARIABLE 8", "")
output_filename = join(workspace, raster_name)
output_geostat = 'point_geostat'
cell_size = 0.0001953125
transformation = "NONE"
max_points = 100
local_overlap_factor = 1
simulated_semio = 100
search_neighborhood = "NBRTYPE=StandardCircular RADIUS=0.028516880589107 ANGLE=0 NBR_MAX=15 NBR_MIN=10 SECTOR_TYPE=ONE_SECTOR"
output_type = "PREDICTION"
semio_model_type = "POWER"
arcpy.ga.EmpiricalBayesianKriging(points, depth_field, output_geostat, output_filename,
cell_size, transformation, max_points,
local_overlap_factor, simulated_semio, search_neighborhood,
"PREDICTION", 0.5, "EXCEED", None, semio_model_type)
When I run this tool and add the output raster to the map, the output raster looks like this. I also noticed the output of the above tool when added to the map also looks like this. Why? Am I doing something wrong here?

Awesome, that works! Thanks James Tedrick The reason I have the guid hidden is I don't want the user to accidentally modify it. Plus its completely unecessary, a user will never enter this value in for our situation. We're opeining survey123 to add an inspection point from arcgis collector. Basically the workflow is: Open collector Visit construction project Click on project boundary Click "Add inspection" (triggers survey 123 with a pre-populated GUID for related project id) User fills out inspection form User submits form in survey123 and returns to collector The issue is that arcgis online will insert these curly braces into the url regardless. No way around that since arcade expressions are not supported in collector and the only way to pass a link to collector is to use the content (html).

When I edit an existing survey, my global id field is being changed to have an extra set of brackets around it. So initially it looks like this: {6FE06469-4765-48D6-B9A4-46A32A72C892} and survey123 is sending this on save: {{6FE06469-4765-48D6-B9A4-46A32A72C892}} Which causes an error because the field type is GUID. I'm trying to use a calculated value in a repeat, that would be set to a field value from the parent record. The issue is that the Parent field name is called ProjectGlobalID. The child field name, in the repeat, is also called ProjectGlobalID. I tried setting the calculate to {ProjectGlobalID} which produces an error, so I also tried setting it to {../ProjectGlobalID} but that also throws an error. This error also happens when trying to access a field that DateCreated that exists in both a Parent record and a child repeat record set. How can I reference DateCreated of the Parent instance for Instance_Name in this case? Any tips on achieving this?

Yeah, I think that would be the most functional. If we only use 3 or 4 different starter templates and none of them are the esri default, then the default template dialog is useless and what could take one click now takes 3 or 4. Let us customize this default starter template folder to point to a network location or ArcGIS online folder. Then I can publish these default templates to a network location, or arcgis online group, for everyone in our organization to access each time they open pro (rather than having to copy a template to their c drive manually each time). ArcMap had this ability using the arcmap administration tool. With pro this functionality is even more important I believe since pro templates are so much more complex. They contain things that ArcMap doesn't have - Mapped folders per project, default databases, and layout/maps. This can be quite time consuming for users to set up each time which means templates are the solution since I can set up mapped folders, database connections, and all that in a template and share it across our organization.

Allow us to change the default path (like to a network drive location) so default templates can be more readily available accross the organization. Yes...I can add this to arcgis online, and then navigate and browse to it but having it on the front page of the app would be much more useful, especially since in an organization we never use the default templates.
