Justin, Exporting data from feature services in ArcGIS Online is only supported for hosted feature services, feature services that have been published to ArcGIS Online and are hosted in the esri cloud. It won't work for feature services that have been published to your own on-premise GIS server; ArcMap can be used for that purpose. There is no credit charge for feature service transactions or outbound data transfer, credits are only charged for storage of hosted feature services. If you've registered your own feature services as items in your content, you will not be charged. http://www.arcgis.com/features/plans/credits.html Coleen, You can zip your KML files and add them as items to your content which can be downloaded by anonymous users if you choose to share them with everyone. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#/What_can_you_add_to_ArcGIS_Online/010q0000000m000000/ Thanks, -Daniel

Colleen, You'll have to belong to the organization and be logged in order to extract the data from a hosted feature service: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#//010q000000mz000000 "Steps: -Log in to the ArcGIS.com website and open the item details for the features you want to export. - If you own the features, click My Content and click the item title. - If you do not own the features, search for the layer, and click the layer name in the search results list." You may consider adding either a zipped shapefile, map package or a layer package as an item to your content. Anonymous user's will then be able to navigate to the item, download it and extract the data to their local files systems. - Daniel

Hiran, This behavior is being caused by a setting in the ArcGIS Online organization "Allow only standard SQL queries." If you disable this setting it will resolve your issue; My Organization > Edit Settings > Security > uncheck the box for "Allow only standard SQL queries." You'll have to be an administrator to do so. The underlying problem is the 'where' parameter of 1=1 being invalid for query operations when executed with Output Statistics with this setting enabled. 1=1 is often used in the 'where' parameter to return all records when querying a dataset; this is how Operations Dashboard automatically formats the request for widgets that use statistics like sum and average. The fact that the widget configuration is failing because of this setting I consider to be a bug which I will document. I hope this resolves your issue, please feel free to follow up to let us know if this work around does the trick. - Daniel

Erik, It sounds like either the application or the services in the application are secured. If these are hosted services, I would make sure they're shared with everyone and not just the organization. In regards to the security of the application, I'm assuming you have an IIS web server in which case you can go into IIS manager and check what type of authentication is being required for the app; you'd want to set that to anonymous authentication. If the log in prompt is for ArcGIS Online specifically, I'd guess that your services aren't shared with everyone, you may also want to verify that anonymous access to your organization is allowed under Edit Settings > Security. Hope this helps, - Daniel

Don, If you access the 'Service Details' under the Layer Details dialog, does the REST page say true or false for "Has Attachments?" I would also mention that as of December 10th, ArcGIS Explorer Online will be moved to ??Retired?? status, meaning there has been no active or continued development of the software since 2012 and users will no longer have access to technical support through direct phone, chat or email request. Access to limited support will remain through discussion forums and knowledge base articles. If you can share your service URL, I'll be happy to take a look at it. - Daniel

Looks like the link posted previously is missing the REST parameter in the URL, try this one: http://imaps.dfg.ca.gov/arcgis/rest/services

Richard, What's happening is that the tiles are being unpacked and hosted as a web service, specifically a tiled map service; the process of unpacking the tiles and publishing the service can take some time. The advantage of this work flow is that the tiled map service can be consumed in web applications as opposed to just consuming the file based tile package in ArcMap. This resource page discusses the work flow in more detail: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#//010q000000v5000000 Hope this helps! - Dan

Paul, You mentioned that you're working with ArcGIS Server 10.1, but you've also indicated this is a hosted feature service, can you verify whether this service was published to your own on-premise ArcGIS Server or if it's hosted in the cloud? Registering a local service as an item in your content doesn't necessarily mean it's a hosted service, it just points to the service URL from your on-premise ArcGIS Server. Would you be wiling to share the service URL or web map ID so that I can take a look?

Jenn, There is no way to change the spatial reference of the basemaps, however, you can make them reproject on the fly depending on the client you're using. For instance if you're using ArcMap, you define the coordinate system of the data frame and then when you add the basemap it will apply a geographic transformation on the fly. You'll receive a warning that the following data source uses a GCS that is different from the one used by the data frame. Hope this helps, - Daniel

You might try posting this question in the Geodatabase & ArcSDE forum instead: http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/32-Geodatabase-amp-ArcSDE Good luck! -Daniel

What you might try is disabling hardware acceleration within ArcMap. Customize > Data View > Uncheck Enable hardware acceleration for supported layers. You can also try updating your graphics card's driver to the latest version available. Let me know if this helps, - Daniel

We've found that this issue is specific to the latest version of Chrome (v29). At this time, the recommended workaround is to either use a different browser or to use a prior release of Chrome. You can find older versions of Chrome here: http://www.oldapps.com/google_chrome.php

I see, in that case you'll have to make sure that the Esri Default gallery is being used for the Web App Templates. If you're an administrator you can try the following: My Organization > Edit Settings > Map > Web App Templates. Set it to Esri Default if something else is being used.
