Hi Dan, I believe this is a known bug captured in BUG-000116327 In Legend Properties, the 'Only show features visible in the map extent' option fails to function when a feature class is symbolized using unique values in more than one field. This bug also affects other renderers, such as graduated color, that use expressions (see BUG-000118169 When symbolizing the layer with an ‘ARCADE EXPRESSION’ in graduated colors, the legend in the layout does not show correct number of features present in each category in ArcGIS Pro.) Hopefully, we can address this issue in the near future. Thanks for the feedback. Tom

Hi Tim, The ArcGIS Pro scale bar is more restrictive than the ArcMap scale bar in keeping all the scale bar parts (bar, numbers, labels) within the bounding box of the scale bar element. Therefore, when the resize behavior is changed the ArcGIS Pro scale bar does everything it can to keep within the boundary that you drew for the scale bar and provide round numbers for divisions and subdivisions. Because of rounding issues there is likely to be some manual adjustment in resizing the scale bar element to get what you want. I was able to replicate what you want by increasing the width of the scale bar element dragging the right middle handle of the selection box. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Emilie, Currently only show features visible in the map extent is only supported for 2D maps. Unfortunately, I'm unaware of any workarounds. This is something we hope to support in the future. Tom

Shannon, North arrows are graphic elements. Only their orientation as a whole adjusts direction. Individual items, such as the letters designating each cardinal direction, cannot adjust independently. The North Arrow is behaving as expected. Having the cardinal directions also oriented to the top of the page, regardless of map rotation, is an interesting idea. I would recommend adding this to the https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas site as a possible future enhancement. Thanks for the feedback. Tom

Hi Shannon, If North points to the right side of the page I would expect West to point to the top of the page and East to point to the bottom of the page. I'm not quite sure what you mean by W & E being 90 degrees off. Could you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? Thanks, Tom

Hi Marvin, I'm assuming that you are working with a layout view since you are reporting that you see the "Legend" item in the Contents pane. I'm also assuming that you have added the legend to the layout page (Add a legend—Layouts | ArcGIS Desktop). Are you seeing the legend display on the layout view? Could you provide a screenshot? If you've added a legend to the layout and legend items are not drawing there may be a legitimate reason for this. The data source of your geocoordinates layer may not support a legend. What is the source of your layer? Another reason legend items might not draw is that there are no features visible in the map and the Only show features visible in the map extent is checked on for this particular legend item (layer). For more information see Work with a legend item—Layouts | ArcGIS Desktop. Legend items are members of the legend. You can find them listed in the Contents pane underneath "Legend". Of course, there could also be a bug with the software. We would need more information (steps and data in order to reproduce the issue) to make that determination. Hope this helps, Tom PS - In case you are unsure about Printing or Publishing your map I've have a few links below that you might find informative. Hi Martin, Could you be referring to ArcMap Neatline elements being dropped when imported into Pro? This is a known and you should be seeing the import notification for this - 20041: Neatlines are not supported and were dropped from the layout—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop When you import the MXD into Pro look to see if you have any notifications in the upper right hand corner of of the application. If the "bell" has a blue dot you have a notification. Click this and the Notifications pane should open. Here you hover the mouse over "More Details" and click View results. This should open a browser where you can read the notification details. For more information on notifications see ArcGIS Pro notifications—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop. For example, here is a simple MXD with a data frame (blue border), a rectangle (green border) and a neatline element (yellow-black outline with blue background). When this MXD is imported into Pro the neatline element is dropped. Unfortunately, you will need to replicate the neatlines in ArcMap with rectangle elements in Pro. Tom

Hi Michael, Data Driven Pages will convert to a Map Series when you import the mxd. You may need to check dynamic map surrounds, such as legend and dynamic text, to make sure they behave as you expect. Pay particular attention to the legend since legend fitting strategies are different in ArcGIS Pro so you may have to make some adjustments. Tom

Hi Ben, The upside-down, inverted behavior you are seeing is due to the value of the Flip angle property on the Text Symbol. When the flip angle is not 0 you will get the upside-down, inverted behavior. This is by design since these text symbols are designed for map labeling, not just for text placement on the layout. To avoid this, I would recommend using the layout specific text symbols that you can access from the Symbol gallery. You can also change the flip angle to 0 for any existing text elements where you see this problem. You can also create your own text styles that you can reuse. Information on how to do this can be found in the following help topic - Save symbols and style items in styles—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop We know that this experience is not optimal and hope to improve it in a future release. Thanks for your feedback. It helps. If you have any suggestions on how to make this experience better, please feel free to post them on the Ideas site - https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Lawrence, At version 2.2 you can further customize grid and graticule label visibility as you see fit. In order to do what you are looking to do you will need to define your edges and specify the label orientation for each direction for each edge. You may want to consider creating a grid style once you have what you want in case you want to reuse this for other similarly rotated maps. For a similar GeoNet discussion please see Gradicule Labels and Tick Marks in ArcGIS 2.2. Here is the help topic that should provide additional information - Add and modify graticules—Layouts | ArcGIS Desktop. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Ben, Your expectations of setting a margin is valid, and unfortunately, this is most likely a bug. Can you pass this along to Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Dan does point toward a workaround. You could set the Map Extent with the third option - "Use Scale From Field". It would require extra work in creating a field for your index layer and populating this field with the required scale value. Tom
