Hey Ben, I appreciate your frustration. Please entertain mine. I tried to reproduce the issue with the screenshot you provided. I tried with "skinny, long polygons", "short fat ones", all different shapes and sizes. I could not reproduce the bug you described. We test map series against many different kinds of points, lines, polygons as index features, with map frames set for various constraints and maps in different spatial reference systems, against different databases and with all the different dynamic elements that you place on a layout. As you can imagine, there are many variables involved. We try to cover as much ground as we can, but unfortunately we miss things. We have not run across the issue described above. We generally do not enter bugs for issues we cannot reproduce. Imagine handing an editor a 500 page manuscript and telling them that the word "house" is misspelled. Given enough time I'm sure the editor could find the misspelled word and correct it. But, they might have to read the whole book. It may take a day or a number of days to do depending on how many other books they need to edit. Now, imagine ff they were provided with the page number with the misspelled word. If we put in a bug that cannot be reproduced the Developer responsible to fix the issue has nothing to work with. Perhaps they come up with a hunch based on the description of the issue and put in a "blind" fix. We test this fix to see if the code change broke any existing functionality, but how do we verify that it actually fixes the problem? We might get lucky, but odds are we would be closing a bug that still exists. A bad situation made worse, in my opinion. Sometimes we get lucky with a screenshot and the issue can be reproduced . Most times, reproducing the issue requires more information than can be provided by a simple screenshot. Perhaps I'm missing something in translation? Perhaps there is an issue with the underlying geometry of the features that ArcMap handled and that Pro does not? Without more information (data/repro steps) I can only guess at this point. Tom

Hi All, I'll state this again. I'm unaware of any bug specific to this issue that was actually submitted to Technical support. Without actual steps/data to reproduce the issue there is very little we can do. As stated above, technical support is better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data than this forum. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Thanks, Tom

Hi Jonathan, You are correct, Get Started with ArcGIS Pro | Learn ArcGIS shows functionality, importing a layout, new at 2.5. Unfortunately, the "Create a Layout" portion of the tutorial is based on having a pre-existing layout (Layout file - .pagx). If you do not have access to this layout I don't see how you can follow the steps in the tutorial. I recommend upgrading to version 2.5 if you can. If you are unable to upgrade, I've attached a Layout file (.pagx) that I believe is used. 1. Copy the attached file to a shared folder. 2. With ArcGIS Pro open, go to the Insert tab 3. Click "New Layout" and at the bottom of the gallery click "Import layout file..." 4. Navigate to the file you downloaded in step 1 and click OK. Hope this helps, Tom

James, First, thank you for your passionate feedback. Though it might not feel like it at times, we DO understand your frustration and ARE listening. We try to organize our work based on many priorities and at times, conflicting priorities. Unfortunately, we can't do everything for everyone all at once. And at times, we may have gotten the priorities wrong. That is why we have forums such as this, so we can readjust our priorities based on feedback from people such as yourself. Tom

Jamal, I believe you need to set a custom map extent for the map before publishing. Set the map extent—Properties of maps | Documentation, otherwise the map will just take the extent of all layers as the default. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Lubna, ArcGIS Pro does not have the legend item styles found in ArcMap. There is an existing bug - BUG-000126472: Implement the 'Horizontal bar with Heading, Labels, and Description' and other missing legend styles in ArcGIS Pro - for this issue. Please feel free to contact Esri Support and add your name/organization to the bug. This helps us prioritize. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Thanks, Tom

Hi Randy, What version of ArcGIS Pro are you using? Vertex editing of layout graphics and text is new at version 2.5 (see What's new in ArcGIS Pro 2.5—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation ). If you have 2.5 you may be running into a bug. Can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at Esri Support Contact Support . Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Tim, When you switch maps are there more, or less layers that the updated legend now has to accommodate? What is the fitting strategy for the legend? If the fitting strategy is such that font size is to be adjusted and the layers in the new map that the legend is pointing to are not the same, then it is expected that the font size may change - as the fitting strategy implies. If you are unfamiliar with the fitting strategies please see Work with a legend—Layouts | Documentation fro more information. If you want the font size to remain constant I would recommend using Adjust frame, or Adjust columns depending on which direction, vertical or horizontal, that you want your legend to flow as items (layers in the map) are added or removed. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Randy, Are you working with text on a layout or with on map? If you working with text on a layout right-click the text element and choose Add Leader. For annotation on the map, of which I'm not an expert, there's these help topic - Add or remove a leader line—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation , Text symbols—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation and Set an anchor point position for callouts—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation . Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Dewey, An empty legend may occur when a layer that does not support a legend, such as a basemap layer, is selected in the Contents pane. For example, in the screenshot below I have a basemap layer "World Light Gray Canvas Base" selected in the Contents pane. In cases where I have a layer, or layers, selected in the Contents pane the legend will only show items for the selected layers. In this case, the selected layer is not supported by the legend, so the legend is blank. If you want all layers that support legends to appear in the legend you can doe this in a couple of ways. You can drag & drop the layers you want into a legend. You can drag and drop these into the Legend item in the Contents pan, or you can drop them on top of the legend on the page layout itself. If no layer is selected in the Contents pane a new legend will add items for all supported layers depending on the map synchronizing options chosen for the legend. For more information please see Add a legend—Layouts | Documentation, Work with a legend—Layouts | Documentation and Work with a legend item—Layouts | Documentation . Hope this helps, Tom
