Hi Katrin,  I don't know much about editing unfortunately. I do know about the layout. I'm unaware of any issue that you describe. Adding text to a layout is testing quite a bit, however, we cannot cover everything. There has to be a variable in your workflow, or something about your work environment that is causing this crash. Does this happen with every project/layout? What were you doing before adding the text? Were you editing features in the map?  If so, were you editing these features within an activated map frame (on the layout) or were you editing in a map view? In order to address issues we need to be able to reproduce the issue so a developer can identify the bug in the code. Can you contact Esri Support? Hi Michael,  Sorry you are running into problems. Before we can do anything about the problem we have to be able to reproduce this issue so a developer can then step through the code to see what exactly is causing the bug. I mention 2 issues: 1. Some Graphics present in the layout are not displaying in the exported file As stated earlier we are unaware of any issues with 2.7 and cannot reproduce the stated problem. With our test maps we see all expected graphics on the layout in the exported file. 2. You can no longer drag/drop layers into legends. I'm not aware of any known issue concerning this functionality in 2.7. I'm able to drag/drop new layers into both the legend on the layout page and into the legend item in the Contents pane.  I'm sure you and others are running into problems, but until we can reproduce (with clear steps & data) either issue there is only guesswork.  Can you contact Esri Support? Christian,  I think you missed an important point in my explanation above.  The legend patch size does not change automatically. You can set it to be larger if you need to accommodate larger symbols. However, if the symbols in the map are larger than the size allotted to it in the legend (via patch size for lines and polygon features) you will get the results you are seeing. The size of just 1 dashed in the polygon outline is just about the same size as the legend patch.  The patch size in your legend is not large enough to accommodate the size of the symbols at the smaller scale. Here is an example of a polygon with a dashed outline.  The default patch size for the legend item (24 pt X 12 pt) is not large enough to show the outline around the patch. Hi Christian,  Here is what I'm seeing with the fix that is available in ArcGIS Pro 2.7.  Here is my test layout example: The map scale is the same as the reference scale set for the map. Here is a zoom in. Notice that the legend symbols adjust as expected for the top 2 legends where the Legend is toggled to respect the map's reference scale. The bottom legend has this property toggled off. Next, is a screenshot of the map frame zoomed out. Though it may be hard to see in this screenshot, but the symbols in the top 2 legends match what is displayed in the map at this scale. Finally, we have an extreme zoom where I needed to increase the overall available space available to the legend (as indicated by the element selection box/handles). I also increased the size of the patch (height and width) for both the line and polygon items to accommodate the symbol's size in the middle legend while not adjusting the sizes in the top legend. As you can see the top legend does not have enough space in the legend patch to accommodate the size of the symbol. Line and Polygon patch sizes DO NOT automatically change size. To do so would be an enhancement to Pro and would be a good thing to add to Ideas if you are so inclined. Perhaps this is what you are seeing? If not please contact Esri Support. Hi Zachary,  This is a known bug - BUG-000132706 inserting a TIFF into a report or layout results in incorrect behavior on export - that has been addressed for ArcGIS Pro 2.7. I'm not aware of any preferred image type.  Glad you found the workaround! Tom ... View more

Avivit, 1. Yes, a dynamic legend on the layout is only affected by the current extent of it's source map frame. It is independent of other map frames and map views. 3. No, you cannot display different versions, with different layers visible, of the same map in different map frames. You will need different maps for this. You can copy/paste the maps and then change the visibility as needed. As you've discovered you can configure Layout Legend items to display only features or classes for features that display in the current map extent.  For more information on this please refer to Work with legend items. You can also configure the Table View to filter for visible features when working with Map View. For help here please see Filter data in the table. 2.
