You want to use the Address Management Application. This includes a construction tool to create the line and split any intersecting lines. Here is the help. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/localgovernment/10.1/index.html#/A_quick_tour_of_the_Address_Management_add_in/028s00000073000000/

I believe the app is pulling the cache scales from the first basemap listed in the config. Do you have an ArcGIS Online basemap listed in the config?

If there is a business reason to separate the features into a separate layer, you should. The Local Gov Info model is a starting point and should be configured to match the needs of your business. There are certain changes we advise against, like changing a field name, we would recommend changing the Alias and some other. I would recommend to document your changes and share them back to the water team. If they make sense for the group, we can look at extending the LGIM to include the changes. Thanks.

1: What add in's did you install? Do they show up in the Add In Manager? Can you verify you do not have an Attribute Assistant Toolbar? I would log a tech support call, they are best suited for trouble shooting install issues. 2: Yes, the Generate ID function does what you are looking for, here is the link to the help. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/localgovernment/10.1/index.html#/Generate_identifier/028s0000008p000000/ Here are two more examples for the value info, (FireHydrant = FH000100, SewerManhole = SMH000100} - {Sewer Manhole sequence name from the GENERATEID Table}|6|SMH[seq] - {Fire Hydrant sequence name from the GENERATEID Table}|6|FH[seq] - Mike

In the configuration, list the Layer name, not the feature class name. That should allow you to have multi versions of the layer. The tools loop through all the layers first, looking for a matching layer name. If a matching layer name is not found, it then loops through all the layers looking at the feature class name. Thanks for coming to the meeting the other week. It is always good to put a face to a name. Thanks!

Jared, Are the valves selectable? Do you happen to have another layer in the TOC with a def query pointing to the same valve layer? If, move the system valve layer above it in the TOC.

Matt, It is currently not in the development plan. We could look at letting the expression rule use the Python engine, but I am unsure if it would would with ArcPy.

Matt, The expression is a pure vb script engine and does not use ArcObjects, so it will not be able to extract the M's from a feature. We currently do not have a method to extract the M's.

Aaron, Are you using the INTERSECTING_FEATURE rule? If so, try this, when you list the Building layer in the the value method, put (LAYER) after the name of the layer, this will force it to use the layer which has the definition query in it. so it would like like this BuildingFloor(LAYER)|FLOORID

This rule always grabs the last ID and increments it by 1. What you are trying to do is not supported.
