Hi, if you exchange the terrain, you need to align your data to the new terrain. for this, CE has some align tools. a screenshot would help me to understand what type of data you have and how the terrain looks. let me know .. matt

hey .. you're leaving the border shapes away this way and only select inside. offset(rand(BlgOffsetMin, BlgOffsetMax), inside) the code you have is the short form of : offset(rand(BlgOffsetMin, BlgOffsetMax)) comp(f) {inside: DoSomething. | all : NIL } so you have 2 options: ugly: duplicate the shape with the 2 short selectors: Rule -->
offset(rand(BlgOffsetMin, BlgOffsetMax), inside)
offset(rand(BlgOffsetMin, BlgOffsetMax), border) or just go for the comp(f) {} ok ? matt

hi .. both the dem ( elevation map ) and the satellite picture must be 1 image each. tiles are not supported. this did not change in 2014. make sure you also read this thread: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/54072-textures-raster-files-concepts-in-CityEngine-ArcGIS ok ? Matt

Hi, Did you update to the newest drivers ? I just did a quick search about this model and I've read multiple times that this model performs quite poorly. For work with CityEngine, we suggest quite stong hardware and enough of RAM. I'm not perfectly about your specific model.. Let me know some more details and if the driver updates do the trick. Good luck. matt

hi .. are you importing into a georeferenced dataset ? please check the point position of 1 vertex in the Inspector. if it's 'near the cartesian origin', import it in a new scene, then move it to the centroid of your georeferenced scene, save the cej. Then open your scene with the georeffed data and import the cej you just saved into the scene. ok ? m.

Hi, As far as I understand, CityGML is a data format itself. I recommend to use GDB, then bring this over to CityGML. Note that the 3DCIM (ArcGIS for 3d cities, http://www.arcgis.com/home/group.html?owner=ArcGISTeam3DCities&title=ArcGIS%20for%203D%20Cities) will provide tools to losslessly port data between the 3DCIM and CityGML for the most important feature classes. But I'm not sure if this is still in development. But that'll be the way we go for. Anyway, GDB is the way to go. I hope that input helps.

well.. the limitations are mainly based on your hardware and internet speed. we usually recommend that a .3ws file is max between 20 and 40 MB, so it's downloaded quite efficiently over the web. what this then contains does not matter, if many textures or much geometry / objects. ok ? matt

Hi, okay. for CityEngine terrains, the extents of the elevation map and texture map must match. Thus, I assume this is also true if you create WebScenes from ArcScene. please keep an eye on this and let me know if you have more issues. matt

Maybe try different materials. The other way - which we are reimplementing currently and worked in 2012, but had to remove temporarily due to time constraints - would be to use attribution per created polygon. But as said, that's not in CE 2014.0 and shall be included again in 2014.1 most probably ! How many 'things' do you need to distinguish ? Maybe I have other inputs. matt
