Would it help if I sent you the original SID files, or posted them to our FTP site?

The contrast stretch when exporting from DDP seemingly reverts to "From Each Dataset" instead of the "From Current Display Extent". I have a very dark image that is only really usable when the stats used are from the current extents. Any advice, is there an option I've missed? Ok, looks good. So what is the secret? Is there something amiss with my account? The way I'm uploading?

Adam, I looked at your SD. It looks like you are using Level of Details = 20. That means you are generating a cache of 270 GB. You can verify that by clicking on "Calculate Cache Size" button on Service Editor dialog box in ArcMap and then estimating cache by clicking on "Start" button. Please observe that even though you are trying to publish a data around 20 MB your cache size is around 270 GB for Level of Details = 20. This is because higher number of Level of Detail require more number of tiles to be generated, which requires more storage space. I am not sure how much space your organization has but, it looks like this is the bottleneck in your case. I would suggest reducing Level of Detail = 2 (may be 5), then see how much space it requires and publish it accordingly. I certainly did not publish with 20 levels of detail. I did run through the Analyze process and adjust the Calculated Cache Size to be under 30MB: Is there a way for me to open the SD file and check the cache size once it has been generated?

I just did the same thing, projected the one FC to WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere. Still no luck publishing anything.

There was an error. Here are the warnings I get when I analyze during the publishing process: None of these seem serious. Is there a demo dataset I should try to see if I can publish anything successfully?

hopefully you see a map service with the same name as your service definition in your My Content. If we don't see a map service of the same name what should be our next course of action?

OK, I'm not seeing a map service in that directory, just a service definition. Is there an example scree cap you can send me?

Sorry Mike, I don't see anywhere to manage the tiles under a specific service definition: When I calculated the estimated cache size in ArcMap it was less than 100Mb.

There doesn't seem to be much info on the error/warning in the results window. Here is the python snipet: arcpy.UploadServiceDefinition_server("C:/Users/ainglis/AppData/Local/ESRI/Desktop10.1/Staging/My Hosted Services/AMEBC_Hard_Restrictions_Source_online.sd","My Hosted Services","#","#","FROM_SERVICE_DEFINITION","#","STARTED","USE_DEFINITION","NO_SHARE_ONLINE","PRIVATE","NO_SHARE_ORGANIZATION","#") and here are the messages: Executing: UploadServiceDefinition "C:\Users\ainglis\AppData\Local\ESRI\Desktop10.1\Staging\My Hosted Services\AMEBC_Hard_Restrictions_Source_online.sd" "My Hosted Services" # # FROM_SERVICE_DEFINITION # STARTED USE_DEFINITION NO_SHARE_ONLINE PRIVATE NO_SHARE_ORGANIZATION #

I have been through the process several time and I keep getting a very generic error message when I try to publish a service that I uploaded from ArcMap. The first warning I get is when publish from ArcMap, cache generation failed: The service uploads without an issue, but when I view it online and try to publish it there I get this message, "There was an error": Tough message to troubleshoot, any suggestions? Thanks, Adam

Will I be able to publish maps from ArcMap 10.1 to ArcGIS Online, without ArcGIS Server? I'm using ArcGIS Advanced 10.1 right now, but I don't see the option publish to ArcGIS Online. Maybe this is because we don't yet have an ArcGIS Online trial subscription?
