I used the following code to add and calculate field:- gp.AddField_management(nn_file, "p_area", "DOUBLE", "", "", "", "", "NON_NULLABLE", "NON_REQUIRED", "") gp.CalculateField_management(nn_file, "p_area", "[F_AREA]/1000", "PYTHON", "") I keep getting error and couldn't figure it out..Any hint??? Hello. I used Near tool in ArcMap 10 to calculate the near distnace and I got some fields with zeros value. Then I used the same layer in ArcMap 9.3, and I got near distance field without zeros values. I couldn't figure out the reason for that.Any hint.Appreciate. Thanks1

Hello.I was running the following in ARCMap version 10: gp.CalculateField_management(nn_output_file, "patch_area", "[F_AREA]/1000000", "VB", ""), and keep getting the following error: ERROR 000539:Error running expression: [F_AREA]/1000000. Hi..I wanted to assign a unique value (number) for each cell in the grid..I just wonder if any one can help me ..For my knowledge ArcMap 10 has no such tool, and I guess the only way to do it is through python programming..That is my thought, I may be wrong, don't know..Appreciate if some one can help me out.. I think my problem is that the statistics have not been calculated. I tried to calculate statistics on the raster using ArcCatalog and ArcMap Calculate Statistics tool but all to no avail..Could you please comment on how to get this done?.. Thanks a lot...
