This sounds like something that needs to be done in python. First you would have to run the Get Count tool. This would give you the total count of rows. The next step is divide the result by 100 to get your 1%. After that use the Sort tool, to sort your attribute table. This is where I am stuck at the moment. How to select a certain amount of rows (which we have the number for) and then export it.

To better understand it, what is the reason to select 1% of your data? What would be your criteria to sort your tables?

David, I think the first issue you will have is, do you need to sort your attributes before you want to select the first 1%? Tim

Sadly no, you can only import point data from a spreadsheet.

Even with an organizational account I don't think this is possible, but since you are a paying customer, I would call ESRI customer support and get it clarified.

The calculated coordinates are the accurate once. Usually when you do an identify, you don't hit the points at the exact point where it is located, so there is a little buffer area around them that still makes you able to select them. Depending where you click within that buffer area the location will use this as your coordinates and not the actual coordinates of your point feature. Also what type of field are you using? Double? If you right click the header of the field in the attribute table you should be able to click on "Properties..." and then click the "..." next to Numeric to enable more decimal points, under "Rounding", number of decimal places. Meredith, After adding the buffer tool to your model, right click the buffer and click "Make Variable -> From Parameter -> Distance [Value or Field]" After this is created right click the new bubble and select "Model Parameter". Now when you run the model it should ask you to specifies the distance. Hope this helps! Tim

Did you try and calculate them via the field calculator? Right-click the column heading and click "Field Calculator..." and in the box write "0" (without the quotation marks).

If you open an empty MXD and add this layer and then start editing, can you still not delete the point?
