Hello, When you assigned a text on either Data or Layout View and there is a light blue color around the text with dash line. What do you call that ? Here is the picture screenshot.

Have a question because whenever i setup my print setup in the Layout View and it doesn't always work, so does ESRI have their webpage that tell us what their Page and Print Setup are ? Like for example, Oversize A4 and I have no clue what is the paper size is for that one. What I am trying to do is to set my Printer setup and then use the Map Page Size as 20 x 17 and sometimes the Margin can be either too big or too small ....

So when you create an annotation layer that you can design and in it has an attribute field called "Status", which tells you to placed or unplaced the annotation to be display it or not to display it. My question to you. How do you turn off the symbology you set it up as a Layer whether they be a polygon, point, or polyline and you assign a new field column "Status" and add it Annotation Status as a Coded value domian. I just did mine on my Campgound Labels point layer. When I select a point to tell that one to unplaced and it is still showing the icon ? I do not want to delete the point, because I might need it later .

It sound like you open either Data or Layout View is set to 10 time larger than other symbols. My question to you when you set the symbols before you convert it to the features. It looked like you did at 1:31,680 at either Data or Layout view ? I wrote a blog of my experience and notice the different in symbol size last week or so here Why are the symbols appear different in size in Data View or Layout View. See if you can figure it out to nail it down . Let me know and if you get stuck ...Try to take a screenshot of it and put it here .

Hi, I am not good at Select by Attributes but here I have a layer that has mixed strings/numbers such as 1,2,3,...A,B.C,D,E , etc They came from CAD layer I imported to File Geodatabase as a feature class. I do know how to do simple query such as TextString = "A" to get all the A's only . I am trying to select the numbers only from the attribute to export a new feature class. I have to do the same with the lower capitals. I could have open the attribute and highlighted them but it is time-consuming.... How do I do that ? Here is the picture sample from the layer.

What I learned about how to solve the Symbols Appear to be different in size in between the Data View vs Layout View ?? One thing I have noticed when I do the labels on my maps on either Data or Layout View they tend to go big or small when you look at them. Here is what I do first is to set the scale you want in the Layout View. You can add the scale number to the list by scroll down to "Customize This List.. So you can add the scale number you want to set to. Then switch back to Data View and set the scale you just set in Layout View. You will see how the size results are in between the two view. So, I fixed it in the Data View and the switch back to Layout View. You can also use the bookmark to set your scale this way whenever you move in either Data View or Layout View, you can return to the original scale you like. This is also very helpful too. Yes, I know it is pain but it really helps me to know what you can see the label size in the Layout View. This is a good one if you are working in small project like I do for Campground sites.
