You can try one map if you want and follow that instructions and decide if this is useful.

As I am working on several shapefiles that needed to be populate Date in the field column. How do you do assign VBscript in the field calculator to assign for one year for 2010 or 2016 or 2014 ? Seems every time I tried to follow what ESRI field calculator I get failed ? like this : Date ( "2016" ) returns failed ! If you have a better suggest or work around, I can do either VB Script or Python. Thanks

Have you looked into ArcScan tutorial ? Here is the link to it http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/pdf/arcscan-tutorial.pdf . I have done that in the past however, if you are planning a lot of image then it is a little bit too much. I have had never use WinTopo. You need to google it and compare for yourself to decide which one is best. Will you be able to use the image once you are done with the WinTopo work and then bring back it to ArcMap ? What is the result for that image ? This is something you need to think about it. My question to you is why are you planning to use ArcScan ? what is your purpose to use it ?

Thank you, Adrian, the reason I did this was because I remember in the old days when someone wrote an AML to run a lot of coverage. So, for example if you work a lot of shapefiles or whatever and you have to run batch. The batch toolbox is a nice but it is pain when you have like at least 10 of them. You want to rename each them for the output shapefiles. So, this way when I set it up what I wrote really helped me a lot. Every time I work on a project, I tried to do find ways to make my job easier. So, I just wanted to share and maybe someone out there might have similar that we or they can share with. Just suggesting.

The disadvantage is that it would not move if you pan the layout a little bit and it is a lot of work.

It's good to have but I have so many of them that I need to do that. I have to do 6 different ranger district and I think it is kind of too late but I will remember this the next time. Thanks for the info. I do hope that ESRI can adopt this for the future.

I am writing to ask anyone out here who have done this in the past or not I am working on Grids and Graticule in ArcGIS Layout using Degrees Minutes Seconds. The intervals for them are 0 degrees 7 minutes and 30 seconds. So when you set them up and the numbers are good however I remember someone mention that the right side the numbers should be the clockwise and the opposite of the Left side. The Left side is perfect one example that is in Vertical label. The left side of the map you see here: But if you have it for the right margin ,it shows the same thing above and how do I make it clockwise for the right side Here is the example I rotated it the same thing above but make it to clockwise that SHOULD be like this Has anyone does that ?

For example, you have a StreetMap North American that ESRI provided with the package or you buy them. So here I have all of the layers that was saved to Group layers. They set up the labels for the Major Roads and in the Labels section under the Layer Properties. They have all kinds of classes they put in to it. My question to you HOW do you carry it over when you clipped it with a shapefile of a specific area you are clipping. The reason I am asking for this is because it is a tedious way for the Specialist to set up once you clipped it and when you turn it on the Labels classes.. You would Have to open up the Label classes from the original Layer to match the clipped Label classes. You would have to do manual to be able to do this method Here is the example of what I am talking about : Original layer Clipped layer with
