How do I know which units that I need to calculate perimeter for my soil data. The field column I have has Perimeter and it has a several nulls that I need to fill it in. It is a polygon and it is a NAD 1983 UTM Zone 13 N and Linear Unit is Meter Thanks,

I have not resolved it yet. I am still working on and cleaning up the messy data I have. I will let you know once I clean it up. I found more errors on that data that I need to continue to fix it. Thanks !

I am working on soils that is so bad and I had to clean it up. The soils data itself has no metadata and has no descriptions for each soil polygons. I don't know where that came from and I know it is a kind of old. As I have been cleaning it up and I can see that somebody who did this probably obtained from some kind of satellite imagery and convert it to polygons. Because of the way the line do not look like smooth and looks like pixels to me and has no descriptions for the soil name and their map units. My question to you is that when I cleaned it up and I use the tool explode, it was 16,141 polygons before I hit the explode tool and after that it is 16,145. So that leaves 4 polygons that I need to find it. I add a field column and I populated it before I ran the explode tool... How do I find the 4 remain polygons?

I had the same thing a few months ago. What I did was to google it and found this. This is for Windows 7 but you should be able to find it for Windows 10. How to change the default program a file opens with in Windows 7

Do they rearrange the columns permanently ? or when I do that and then export to a new layer and then does it become permanently ?

I need help to find a good tool or an XML editor on the GeoNet folks here on which XML editor that can I have to work on to make some edits. I need to reorder my feature class that I need to sort their field columns to what I want. Does anyone in here can suggest me of a good XML editor that can I work on? I've googled everything on XML Editor even on GeoNet but I am not sure what is a good one. It can anything like tool, editor, script, etc. I am using ArcGIS 10.3.1 on my PC. Thanks, Robert

That work however it is best to use Import XML Workspace Document and change it to Schema Only as an export Options and this is what I wanted !

I have a couple of question that I want to discuss about. 1. I'd like to clean up the field aliases especially when I do made the joined tables. These sometimes can cause problems when you need to do many joins later on. I googled it but could not find in depth information.. 2. I have an existed shapefile that needed to be clean up and has all the field I need. Is there a way that can I copy the template from that existed shapefile. This is what I am planning to do is copy and paste the newly polygons from the existed shapefile because that shapefile needs a new information that I will be doing some table joined from an excel file. What is the best way to do that ? I recalled there was one that can be done in Geodatabase ?

Thanks for that respond. I don't recalled checking on that one. I don't think it would have show up there, does it ? Because when I did that simple load data and got the error it did not say it would show up there... The next time if I do the same thing, I would be checking on it.

I am asking anyone out there that might suggest me how or find a way to do this. OK, I scanned a list of soil database and save the file to .png or any other image file and I need to extract the text from scanned file and put them to MS Excel. But the problem is that when you use "OCR from Image to Text" and it is all garble and leaves out a lot of space. If you look at the list and I want to extract the exactly list and put it to MS Excel. I am aware that you can use the "Copy the text from picture" or use "Alt text" in Microsoft OneNote, But it is not always 100 percent perfect. Is there a way around to make them straightforward without having to fix it like garble? Revised from October 6, 2016 I posted this question.

When you use the Load data within the Geodatabase and when you get the Error Message, Where does it save the file to ? It gave you all the OID and the Error description that I need to investigate the errors. Thanks ! I'm using ArcGIS 10.3.1

Thank you. The reason is that I am asking is because I have the geodatabase that was already done by somebody else and use the template that I cannot change. Thanks for the suggest !
