Yes, like I said it is like a dialect and it came from different geographic areas. For example, if someone is from Texas and that person visit California. I am sure they will find new sign and it is always new to them. Usually they have several different signs for the same word. Now, for example, the word Japan and here in America, we use the "J" at the eye with like a swing J...but to them the deaf Japanese felt it is an insult to them so it is because we deaf Americans use that sign years ago... So a few years ago they adopted a new sign look like this: ASL sign for JAPAN | HandSpeak So, in the old days we use that sign Sign for KOREA | ASL Sign Language Video Dictionary and still it is an insult to them... so we adopt a new sign that looks like this: Sign for KOREA | ASL Sign Language Video Dictionary

All righty, when you get the chance to upgrade 10.3.1 or later one day, you can always "post-it" sticker it on your computer or your head...Enjoy your day.

Yes, ArcGIS 10.3.1 does not like xlsx. So, I made a copy of it to .xls Then Open ArcCatalog and I was able to view it. Export it as a .dbf file and add it as NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_12N. Open ArcMap and add the file to it. You need to re-export it to shapefile. I'm using ArcGIS 10.3.1. Did you do this method ?

I taught American Sign Language at New Mexico State University for three years, before I move to Colorado. Here I have a pdf that explains how to work with a deaf employee at your office, private companies, etc... Every Sign Language is not the same in some countries.. Like British Sign Language and American are different but in Canada and USA have the same sign language in ASL. When I taught American Sign Language (ASL), I always tell my students that taking another foreign language benefits you with your major in Psychology, Sociology, or Geography...a deaf person will always be happy if you know or little bit of finger-spelling or sign language. If you happen to know a deaf person, please network him or her to me...I'd love to chat with that person. There is no universal sign language in GIS, Geography, or in any major. Basically you and the sign language interpreter need to team up to make it up sign language like for example : there is no sign polygon so you would have innovate one. Polygon means shape with like area. Sign for Geography here : Sign for GEOGRAPHY | ASL Sign Language Video Dictionary Sign for Map : it varies by the deaf person in some areas in the United States but most common I have seen here American Sign Language (ASL) Video Dictionary - map Area : "area" American Sign Language (ASL) For GIS , you would have finger spell it G I S I will add more sign for some of the words in Geography or GIS later on.. So long !

The only way I can do is run a tool named Polygon Neighbors, Polygon Neighbors—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop , seems to worked but it can get you a lot of work if you have a lot of polygons. Fortunely for me I ran it and discovered 18 out of 15,796 polygons that found the same common polygons.

Is there a way around for me to do find common polygons ? What am I trying to do is to find the common polygons that have both the same label and are next to each other they needed to be merge into one polygon. Right now the only way around for me is to run a dissolve and use by the field to dissolve them. Then I ran and use the tool Split them by using the split field name. I then bring them to Arcmap to go through to ensure each polygon from field name (MUID) , so they don't touch each other... Some of the layer may have a lot of them in cluster and some of them are far apart. When they are far apart, I remove them. Is there a script for that ? or Is there a better method to do around than that I am doing ? So here is the scope of what I am doing here: 1. dissolve the layer using the field name ie MUID 2. Use split tool the dissolve layer using the MUID 3. Bring them to ArcMap to review each split layer to look for common polygons. 4. If there is no common polygon found then remove it from the Table of Content. 5) If the common polygon is found, keep it in the table of contents. 6) Return to the Original data I worked on and compare with the common polygon found.

Hi everyone, I'm writing here to ask anyone out there who want to share with.... So I like to read newspaper online (I like world events and sports, local news, and stuff like that), so when I read New York Times or The Washington Post and sometimes LA Times ( I am born and raised in southern California) . I am currently living in southern Colorado... Not a big fan of Colorado Rockies but I am big fan of the Los Angeles Angels fan in my heart. Yes, I went school with Troy Percival. He was a very skinny kid and plays as a catcher at that time. So, whenever I am boring, usually I like to read anything but when there is a story maps on their newspaper such as New York Times has a nice article about Dakota Access Pipeline http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/11/23/us/dakota-access-pipeline-protest-map.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fus&action=click&contentCollection=us®ion=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=2&pgtype=sectionfron http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/11/23/us/dakota-access-pipeline-protest-map.html?smid=pl-share There is another one I like to read about maps like the one from the Washington Post: These maps show how Russia has Europe spooked - The Washington Post I do know that The Atlantic has their excellent maps as well but sometimes it hides it, so you would need to use search to find maps there... Here is an example : How a Modern-Day Mapmaker Does His Job - The Atlantic Are there any other newspaper that have good ones to share with me ? They can be from US, other countries, etc...

For example, I am working on this soil data I have been working on and it will be ongoing for long time..because the database will be changing in three years so the person I work with will have a database in three years and wants me to update it with the soil database. That sort of thing he was talking about NHD being update every two years. I do not work with the NHD updates myself and I want to know how that works that I will be doing the same thing with the soil data. That is all and I just want to know how that works... Thanks for the heads up. I will print it and read it.

Thank you but I am not doing the NHD work, just how it works when you make the edits to the NHD every two years. What the person was telling me that the USGS get collected from the public input and then they make edits. That is where I want to know how that works. I hope if I can make myself more clearly.

Hi, Today, I had a meeting with two people to go over what I have been working on soils data. It has a lot of cleaning up. When we were discussing, this person was talking about the edits with the NHD for every two years. What I would like to get more information about it on how every two years that NHD works or needs to make edits. NHD is a National Hydrography Dataset that is done by the USGS. Does anyone out there know what I was talking about ? Could anyone out there can directed me to where can I find ? That will help to what I am looking for about it. Thanks
