Have a question. How do you tell or write in code to tell ArcMap to open and closed and wait for a few minutes before you go to the next code and then open Arc map and then closed  again ? Is there a syntax or code for that ? I want to write that on my pyscripter because when I wrote coded to export a lot of PDF from each ArcMap mxd in Citrix and I use Pyscripter on Windows.  Citrix is different world and is not the same as you see ArcGIS on PC/Windows. Citrix is more of like a cloud and uses the internet and is kind of slow to open and closed. Sometimes when you run it and then some of them will bail it out for no reason. I was thinking  it has something to do with open ArcMap and then closed it after export a pdf and then use del mxd. Yes, it has an image in it and it uses Imagine file. I do have a question and not sure how do I say this but I recalled two years ago that I did had Pyscripter to write code that go with ArcGIS python. This is much easier than doing it in ArcGIS python window. What do you call that ?  AND what kind of software do you recommend me to use to go with it ? Two years ago I used Pyscripter to work with codes and it was very helpful. My question to you is how do I prevent the date from open a mxd each day ? What I would like the date to preserved it when you last created the Map Layout.in mxd ? Each date was insert under ArcMap using the Dynamic Text and then use the Current Date. For example, when you set up your project and create a Map Layout the day you created (ie 2/21/2017) ? So, the next day you open the same Map Layout and the Date changes to 2/22/2017 ? I would like to have the date to preserved to 2/21/2017 rather than 2/22/2017  ?  I do hope you know what I am trying to say here. Thanks ! ... View more

Why was I able not to create thumbnails for each SDE layers on my Citrix ArcCatalog ? Would that work with SDE ? As I am working on my Metadata in my Spreadsheet for each layer and document them. As I go through each of them and tried to create them not it would not let me to ? I have looked into the ArcGIS Help desk for 10.3.1 but it does not provide me more details. Help ! ... View more

Here I am talking about an Attributes. What I am trying to find out is that if you have all the attributes that is already there but  you need to add a symbol class within the Choose Symbol Class. For example,  When you need to look through each polygon , and you have all the attributes right there. In the Editor, and you have Attributes open up and you select a polygon or whatever. When you found an error and you want to input an attribute and when you want to open up the"choose Symbol Class".  What if the symbol class isn't there and you want to add a new one How do you do that ? I can just add an attribute it right there in the Attribute without open up the Choose Symbol Class. Problem is that you have to refresh it when you open up the layer's properties and hit the symbology and then Add all the values or Add Values and select the new values. it would change all the colors that you don't want. Is there a way around that can I add a new values within the Choose Symbol Class ? Reason for asking to avoid update the symbol class new  colors rather than staying the same.... ... View more

I am aware that ESRI has put up Versioning on their ArcGIS help online but is there that has PDF ? What is a version?—ArcGIS Help | ArcGIS for Desktop  But I'd like to get some tips from you that might be helpful to me. My supervisor wrote down the steps on how to do it.
