I have a question for you So, if you have a legend that you wanted to copy to use for the legend but We know it is against the US copyright law as you described it above. What if you create a font to build and use the style to be use the the legend. Would that be considering against the US Copyright law if you create one that is almost look-like the symbol ?

Good Afternoon everyone from Colorado, As I am working on creating new layers, add new symbols, eltcetera , to try and go align with the Monarch Ski Areas... My question to you is it legal for me to copy and create a new symbol to match with this "Welcome to Monarch Mountain" 's poster. This poster is a skewed and is not a real world. Now if you look at the Map Key in the poster and it is at the lower right side of the poster. What I would like to do is copy and paste these and then creating them into a new symbols ..... What would I do is open up the pdf of this poster and zoom into the Map Key section I showed it you above with the six on the list.. So using the OneNote and use the "Take Screen clipping" and it saves to Mircosoft OneNote: Then save it as a PNG file. See here : and add them to ArcMap using this Creating new styles—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop Would that work ? Do you have any recommend before I dive into them ? BTW, I do not see any copyright stamped on this poster and should I be concern if I do ? Should I asked the company who created them and asked for an copy ? Thoughts ????

Darren Wiens; Dan_Patterson When you set up a Domain Name on the Geodatabase and add the codes. I put the Field Type as a Text. My question to you when you go to the Feature Class Properties and all I can see that the subtype Field shows None; however, when I add the Name as a Field Name. I am wondering why the Subtype Field doesn't show the Name as a subtype ? Was it because I set it as a Text and it would not show it ? Is that correct ? Thanks,

One thing before you post it, I open and google to that Ski Area and then you can navigate it and there is a compass in it... See here This is Monarch Mountains and that helps me to see 3D here and compare with ArcGIS...You can see the compass just to the right side of the image.

As I am working on Ski Areas on our Forest, I am putting all the layers and imagery together to my ArcMap. My question to you is that is there a way around for me to add the North star to the Data View ? I know that you can do that in the Layout View . Because in the Data View , the North Arrow is greyout. The reason I asked is because the Imagery I have on my ArcMap is hard to know where the North is.. I have the copy of that Ski Area in a PDF but it looks like it is skewed... The person who drew it is an actually draw the area and shows where the Trails, Lifts, Parking... It does not show anything with the map scale... It is more of "Welcome" to the audience of that Ski area. Do you have any suggest for me to insert the North Arrow on the Data View or am I crazy to ask ? or Has anyone have done it before ?

Actually they are in both in one and it is under the Mosaic Dataset and there is only one layer that holds it... Let me show you. So, you can see just one image but I have two of them within it...What I want to have two image to show different One is the topo and the OpenStreet map ... This is what I have here and what you see is a Open Street Map... and the Topo is hidden.. This is a Monarch Mountain and it is in Central Colorado.
