We have been running some PoC works on the electric utility network asset package. Mostly there is a good general understanding of the UN and how to create and configure own own, but as expected we keep finding some issues that may be just related to the AP config without knowing all the ins and outs. Our most recent works have been for an editing to create a new network and tie this into the existing dataset (new subsource and open an existing switch). The user created the new network and opened the switch without issue. When they have run the update subnetworks GP the subnetlines feature creates but the subnetwork name attribute stops along the feeder, conflicting with the subnetwork line. This has been repeated by this user in a separate version. The red circle shows where the new subnetwork controller has been created, and the updated subnetline feature is the white outline on the network to the right (shown clearer in image 2) This shows the updated subnetlines, and the location of the opened switch. Feeder id (subnetwork name) attribute not updated on the electric lines as shown below. This location is shown about with an "X" in the image above. From the online documentation and Esri UN training we have completed this should be a simple workflow: 1) add and configure new subnetwrok controller 2) add new network and tie into existing network 3) open existing swtich 4) validate, save and run update subnetworks Is there any other functions or configurations we need to be aware of for this to propagate through correctly?

Richard, Yes this appears to be correct as UN is not an extension but a licensed server role. I have the same here with our current PoC solution. Damien

Thanks Sami. Yes aware of the utility owner account. In fact we have found this is not just the owner account but the creator account. I have tried the using the service as the input and the database connection without consistent success with either. Paul LeBlanc I'll take your advice and raise a support ticket on it also.

Yes this is with the service running. I am testing different configurations settings for our potential build.

Hey Paul, yes ran the standard restart and am running 2.3.2. I have found this very hit and miss and now just run disable until it errors to tell me its already disabled. The alternative is to prep the changes needed in whichever GP tool I need and it then fails due to topology not being disabled. Yesterday was probably the worst example. Normally I need to run the disable 2-4 times. This can be the same when enabling topology, but not as bad.

I am working with the electric asset package, and testing different configuration settings. A big issue I am finding is the disable topology GP tool is hit and miss. Although it always succeeds in the output message, it doesnt always actual work. As you can see below I have run this back to back and it succeeds each time (I receive an error if topology is already disabled). the second screen shot is after disable topology has been run. Is this a known issue?

Some of our staff are having issues where arcgis pro will suddenly zoom to 1:100,000,000,000. We are using ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4, with the electric utility network extension, running on arcgis 10.6.1. Has anyone encountered this or know what could be causing this? Edit: Upgraded one of the users to pro 2.3.2 and the issues still occurs.

I have been testing the electric asset package in 3D and found my new objects added in the 2d model not displaying. Is there anything I am missing in getting these to show in the 3d scene? All objects except are at 0m in Z except the attachment and one end of the line as shown below on the right which are at 10m. I also added a new attachment with the same XY as the 10m attachment feature, but this is at 20m. The new line running north-south (and selected) added at 0m. Additionally, when I created the new line feature I snapped it to the attachments (those both at the same XY), yet neither were snapped to by the line and placed at 0m. Anyone with ideas on why?

We have been asking the same questions. So far I have found there are issues when editing in 3d when working with utility networks. Z values are not considered for dirty areas, containment functionality does not work in a 3d scene. Have you been able to process your concept? Are you planning on using the utility model with your network?

Thanks Robert. We have a highly complex underground CBD network that needs to considered on how to visualize and manage this network (one good example is in a single road parcel there are 7 unique trenches, with 87 distinct cables, and over 100 conduits). The use of containment for lines seemed like a good idea, but how to keep it clean yet interactive is the question. The interactive turn on/off and building something ourselves i guess we will need to look into until there is a core web app.

I have been investigating the capability provided by the containment function in UN. This makes a very clean looking map in pro. The first 2 images below are showing ducts, duct banks and electric lines with containment - display content hidden then shown. This third image is the same dataset in a portal map. As you can see there is no containment and all the objects are visible. Is there any configuration we need to set to allow the portal users to utilise containment? Or are the users stuck with the objects always shown?

Hi I have just upgraded from pro 2.2.4 to 2.3.2 and when I opened pro I received this error. Does anyone have any thoughts on why I received this and if I should be concerned?
