If the clients getting 10.5.1 are new loads, you may need to disable the IPv6 support on the NIC cards--DirectAccess and IPSec tunnels will still connect via Teredo https://www.ivonetworks.com/2017/01/native-ipv6-addresses-can-break-directaccess/ Computers going off site, and connecting via DirectAccess have another issue in resolving the License Pool server address--so you have to provide the Esri FlexNet Publisher based clients with an IPv6 address to the ArcGIS License Manager. http://www.itexperience.net/2016/12/29/flexlm-license-manager-and-ipv6-and-direct-access/ So, do we need to provide the IPv6 address manually. That is durring installation on a client, done with a command line "custom" install and setting an "ESRI_LICENSE_HOST=" value--hostname OR static IPv4 address--and also add a semi-colon and a static/permanent IPv6 address. Or, after installation in a Regedit session modify: HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\ESRI\LICENSE 10.5 -> LICENSE_SERVER HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment -> ARCGIS_LICENSE_FILE There the same semi-colon separated string as the ESRI_LICENSE_HOST= installer configuration, but would be prepend with @. And for best performance the IPv6 address will still probably need to prepend the TCP port assignment--specific from range 27000-27009 or a configured on the license server--so maybe something like: 27004@192.168.1.253;27004@::ffff:C0A8:1FC This Autodesk support blog, and the FlexNet Publisher 11.14.0 License Administrator manual (May 2016) Not able to obtain a license over IPV6 (DirectAccess IPV6) - Autodesk Community Suggest that setting environment variables (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment) for: FNP_IP_ENV => 1 FNP_IP_PRIORITY => 6 will support remote users with DirectAccess connections to the license server. Believe these registry settings could be pushed with Group policy. Unfortunately we don't use DirectAccess here on campus--we use PAT of internal IPv4, with external F5 Networks SSL VPN--so I can not verify this will correct it. Anyone? Stuart

Error 1325 is a typical Microsoft installer (MSI) packaging installer permissions error (do a Google or Bing search). Nothing wrong with the package (i.e. not Esri's fault) rather it is a permissions issue with your Windows OS--and more specifically with your user account. Can be avoided by initially running the .exe or .msi installations "Run as Administrator". But at this point suspect you need to edit your user shell in Windows registry. 1. Start with a cmd window or powershell window "Run as Administrator" 2. enter "regedit" (will have admin priviledges) 3. navigate down into your profile to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders 4. If the path in the data for the Favorites value, or the data fields for any of the the values, starts with other than %USERPROFILE%, change it. 5. close out of registry 6. repeat but unlike 1. run cmd or powershell with just your user privileges 7. again be sure the Favorites shell folder path points to your %USERPROFILE% value. Those two registry edits should clear the 1325 error. But suspect you may have other partial removal/installation issues See how the ArcGIS for Desktop installation proceeds. It is counter intuitive, but you may need to reinstall ArcGIS Pro to be able to remove it cleanly, maybe even the partial installs of ArcGIS for Desktop. A utility is helpful, personally I find the Revo Uninstaller does a good job with cleanup after an uninstall. Alternative the CCleaner -> registry mode cleanup is effective (and safe). Good luck and post back results...

Julio Novoa gave this good hint in this thread (Arc Hydro Setup Versions and Documentation ) regards needing a README.txt configuration note: 1. Extract the zip file to the location where you want to install ArcHydroPro 2. Edit the file archydropython.pth so that the path points to the location of ArcHydro\Scripts\ArcHydro (e.g. C:\Tools\ArcHydroPro\Scripts\ArcHydro). 3. Copy the edited archydropython.pth to %ProgramFiles%\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\Python\envs\arcgispro-py3\lib\site-packages. Otherwise you won't be able to run ArcHydro from ArcGIS Pro. ArcHydro uses Python from the default conda environment arcgispro-py3.

Not recommended. It has been a while since I've verified, but yes ArcGIS can be installed to other than the Windows %SYSTEMDRIVE% drive, usually C: But you will need to use a fast external SSD with USB 3.1 or ThunderBolt with a reserved Drive letter assignment (via DISKMGMT.MSC) -- a flash drive or old external USB 2.0/3.0 HDD will not cut it. But be warned, it is a nightmare to uninstall ArcGIS later should the external drive fail, or be lost, or get assigned a different Drive letter assignment. I can guarantee you will end up reinstalling your OS if you have to manually uninstall ArcGIS! And, if done this way (a Silent, custom installation via a Command or PS window [1]) , I would not attempt to split the install to the local C: drive, just create a folder "X:\Program Files (x86)" and "X:\Program Files" if X is the Drive letter reservation you make. And perform the command line silent installation to that INSTALLDIR=, including pointing the Python INSTALLDIR1= there. Windows registry, WinSxS manifests and Global Assembly Cache will go onto the internal %SYSTEMDRIVE% drive. While each user's system %USERPROFILE% (to their CSIDL_PERSONAL, CSIDL_MYDOCUMENTS) will hold the ArcGIS default profile used for your Map projects, symbology, and scratch FGDBs, along with some configuration going into the %APPDATA% directory. In short it gets messy (ArcGIS Pro is cleaner) to split the installation to a drive other than %SYSTEMDRIVE% but an external drive is no different than a secondary HDD except for being slower--and you can throw a high end SSD and USB 3.1 or ThunderBolt capable hardware at that. =-ref-= [1] Installing ArcGIS Desktop silently—Help | ArcGIS Desktop

OK, that's new. Suspect it will be like the ArcGIS for Personal Use and that you will have access to the my.esri.com portal. Not clear if you would pick up a Named User license or Single Use license for ArcGIS Pro as an Authorization code from My.Esri--or if you would get a Named User associated to your AGOL public account. Lets ping the Education team as now I'm curious and others will likely also have this question.

You "purchased" ArcGIS for Desktop for Student use, interesting...from whom? Are you at an academic institution? If so, your ArcGIS Pro licensing would be delivered via your Institutions ArcGIS Online (AGOL) organizational accout. They would provide you with the installation packages for ArcGIS Pro. Your licensing would be by named user linked to the AGOL account. ArcGIS Pro does have Single Use licensing (via conversion from Named User seats on MyEsri portal) and now Concurrent use licensing--but those are not the norm. If at an Academic institution with a Esri Education program license, you'll need to figure out whom your campus contacts are. They'll be able to help you out with accessing ArcGIS Pro.

Insert the Arc_Hydro_Tools_Pro.tbx toolbox to the project Catalog for use, the resource path to the installion is Program Files -> ArcGIS -> Pro -> Resources -> ArcToolBox ->Toolboxes Each tool/script in the toolbox has the Syntax of the script, but no Usage or Code samples--those have not really changed once the toolbox is added to the Project.

As you've found out, the ArcGIS Pro licensing is not combined with the Education program 1yr evaluation codes (EVA12345678). One of your schools ArcGIS Online administrators will need to add your account to access the organizations ArcGIS Pro licensing--done through the AGOL portal. They should be able to assign it to your new Esri Global account you activated your EVA... code against. Or just send you an invite to your email of choice as they prefer. In any case you can not do it yourself with the student trial seat. You'd have to purchase the Home use license and gain access to the my.esri.com portal to do that. Good luck.

A simple two step process. 1. You need to attempt to Deauthorize your FNP Trusted Storage cache. That will protect your ESU Authorization and allow you to reuse it without hassle of contacting a CSR. The tool you'll need is the ArcGIS_Deauthorization_Tool linked from this tech support article: How To: Deauthorize ArcGIS Desktop and Engine Single Use licenses after uninstalling the software Be sure no AppROT or ArcGIS services are running, check in Task Manager and stop them if present. Running the utility installs the FNP licensing service, reads the FlexNet Publisher "Trusted Storage" cache at C:\ProgramData\FlexNet reporting any still valid authorizations, returns them all, and then uninstalls the FNP licensing service. 2. Second step is to open the FNP cache folder and delete any "residual"--any ArcGIS_*.tsf.data or ArcGIS_*.tsf.data_backup.001 and possibly some logs. Be careful here as other applications also hold authorizations in this cache--clean out only the ArcGIS related contents. At this point I normally reboot the system. Then run ArcGIS Administrator and if all went well with the deauthorization you should be able to reuse your current ESU123456789 authorization code, and the ESU codes for any extensions. But if the softwareauthorization.exe -return all portion of the script failed--and the ESU codes are not "rearmed" you will need to contact your CSR to have that done or new authorization codes generated. Let us know how you make out. Stuart

I have not had to deal with the Personal Use licensing myself, but believe you still get access to the my.esri.com support portal and pick up your Authorization numbers there in addition to your installation packages. But for ArcGIS Pro beleive Named User rather than Esri Single Use authorization is the preferred means of authorizing. That is, the Named User account linking your ArcGIS Online access to your ArcGIS for Personal Use should also provide your activation for ArcGIS Pro. An Esri CSR could confirm. Otherwise, you would need a different ESU single use authorization number for ArcGIS Pro, available from the my.esri.com portal licensing tab. Or contact an Esri Customer service representative to obtain it. Let us know how you make out.

Nope, you have to remote (RDP, or other) into the server hosting the ArcGIS License Server Administrator GUI. Esri's ArcGIS licensing GUI can not be run remotely as the license manager is still FlexNet Publisher lmgrd service based. Esri does not support Flexera's web based GUI--lmadmin. Also, they no longer ship the lmtools GUI which Flexera has dropped (11.13 builds). So the only "supported" GUI is the in-house developed of ArcGIS LM that is done with a FlexNet SDK. Which supports reading and authorization from provisioning files and returning authorizations from FNP Trusted Storage. In theory a FlexNet Publisher lmadmin instance can include the Esri FlexNet LM components--but you will have to fight with the Trusted Storage authorizations (and keep the Esri ArcGIS LM around anyhow). I have not bothered to test. Third party programs like OpenLM post an agent to the server and keep track of the license activity from the FNP logs. Otherwise... the FlexNet Publisher utilities--LMUTIL--still will correctly poll the server and generate status from a remote client. Need to copy the lmutil.exe from the license server to the client you want to work from. Then run the command line: lmutil.exe lmstat -a -c <port@FQDN> Or, for convenience you can wrap it into a desktop shortcut, with a Target of C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /S /K "lmutil.exe lmstat -a -c <port@FQDN>" with the Start in folder pointing to location of the lmutil.exe copied from the server's ArcGIS LM install directory. You can replace <port@FQDN> with the TCP port and the fully qualified domain name of the server. You can omit the TCP port but that is slower as it will poll the server one port at a time from 27000-27009, better to specify the port in use. Likewise rather than FQDN you can query the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the server again saving a little time with no DNS lookup. Stuart

Is your networking IPv6? Check what your DNS resolves the address to, i.e. what you get with a ping. You may need to enter the license service at its IPv4 address, or even its IPv6 address.
