Yeah, I'm not 100% sure on how many questions SmartForms can handle. I've never tried building a SmartForm that large before. As far as S123, while I don't think it's impossible, it can't easily directly update existing data. Typically, when you create a S123 form, it will create a brand new feature service for data collection. Then you would have to ETL that data to update your existing data in your production environment. With this workflow, you can create S123 launch links in the pop-up in Field Maps which will automatically open the S123 form and transfer over and pre-populate values in the S123 form (such as an ID, etc.). I believe there is a way to edit existing data in S123, although it will require more configuration. You can configure S123 to use an existing feature service, although it has to meet certain requirements and can be finnicky to work with. This YouTube video has an explanation of how that works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGTPIzTtbSk

It's probably going to depend on the complexity of the forms you need to create. If you need to create a lot of advanced logic with calculations and stuff like that, you will probably be better off using Survey123. Otherwise, for more basic functionality, Field Maps might be an acceptable use case. Although, 100+ questions might be a lot for it to support. Survey123 shouldn't have any issues with 100+ questions though.

Thank you for your reply. The settings are already configured for a delay start up of the service. As far as restarting the services, it appears to be affecting all of them. We have 100+ hosted feature services so I'm not going to check them all, but all the ones I tried (along with reports from our end users) were not working. So it would be much simpler to restart the entire service instead of the individual services.

We are having a problem with ArcGIS Enterprise not fully coming back online after a full server restart, forcing us to having to manually restart the ArcGIS Server service to bring it fully back online. To explain, we have a four machine deployment. One Portal, two Server, and one Data Store. Those machines periodically get restarted for non-Esri patching (Windows, anti-virus, etc.). After those machines get restarted, everything appears to be operational, with the exception of being able to submit S123 forms. We get an error message in S123 saying it can't find the hosted feature service (or some variation of that error message). Manually restarting the two ArcGIS Server services fixes the issue. However, we'd like to not have to manually restart the services every time the servers get restarted. Is there a reason why ArcGIS Enterprise doesn't come fully online after a server restart? Or is there anything we can do to ensure it comes fully back online so we don't have to manually restart it afterwards?

Thank you for the update! I just received this information from the Esri support analyst I'm working with today. We did confirm that the Web Adaptor patch appeared to be installed when viewing the installed updates in Control Panel. However, the time stamps of the .dll files did not appear to be correct. Support told me to stop the IIS application pool of the Portal and Server web adaptor (like others have mentioned here) and then install the patch again which I did just a few minutes ago, and the .dll files have the correct date now.

The issues we're experiencing have not changed between patch 1 and patch 2. I haven't noticed any difference at all. When the issue happens, Portal continues to operate as expected, but any feature services within the map viewer just stop loading. Restarting IIS immediately fixes the problem. I don't have enough IT knowledge to troubleshoot anything within IIS, so I'm not sure what to look for in there to narrow down the issue. But I did implement the workaround that Luke posted and so far, it's been alright (even if it is a temporary fix). I do have a support case open with Esri support. So far, the only response from support is to implement the workaround I've already implemented and that they would keep me updated with any updates to the web adaptor.

Thank you for your reply and validation that I'm not the only one who is still experiencing issues even after installing both patches. We have varying EGDB versions, but most are not the most recent version. Most are around 10.7.1 or 10.8. If there is a compatibility issues with the web adaptor though, I'd like to see that documentation from Esri.

I have not tried the workaround yet because I wanted to give the Esri patches an opportunity to fix the problem on its own. Also, someone from Esri said that the workarounds only delay inevitable outage, not completely eliminate it. I'll definitely try the workaround because less outages is certainly better than doing nothing, but honestly, we just need the web adaptors to work correctly and not have to implement workarounds that just delays the inevitable. (I'm sorry, the frustration is not directed towards you. I appreciate your comment!)

This has been a disaster for us. We went from 10.9.1 where we experienced no issues at all, and upgraded to 11.1 and have been experiencing multiple outages each day. We have installed both web adaptor patches and it has still NOT resolved this issue. Restarting IIS immediately fixes the issue, so I'm betting IIS and the web adaptor is the issue here and we're still impacted by this bug. Has anyone else installed the second patch and still experiencing issues?

Currently, the ArcGIS Enterprise update tool that is used to find and install Esri patches does not include the web adaptor. Considering the web adaptor is a component of ArcGIS Enterprise, and the tool is called "Check for ArcGIS Enterprise Updates", web adaptor updates should be included. It is misleading (and also an inconvenience) for web adaptor updates to not be included in that tool. Currently, the 11.1 web adaptor is loaded with bugs that Esri has already released one patch for, with more coming in the next month or so. I would not have known there was an update to it if it wasn't for finding it in a geonet post. Since web adaptor updates aren't really published anywhere, other people could potentially be experiencing this problem that the update fixes. But, they won't know about it unless they reach out to Esri support, search geonet, etc.

Ah, yes, changing it to that seemed to have fixed it! Now my graph is showing again when selecting a time frame of 2 hours or less. Thank you!

Sure thing! I pretty much copied it exactly from the sample analysis that was provided with Monitor (which is working fine). The only thing I added was explicitly defining four of my components in the data expression. Otherwise, it should be an exact copy from the sample analysis.

I recently created an analysis and it's been working great this week, until suddenly today. I noticed all my serial charts that should contain data on four different servers only contains either zero or one server. However, this is only an issue when viewing the past 2 hours or less. If I move the time out to 6 hours or more, I can see all four servers. I thought maybe the Monitor stopped logging in the past 2 hours, but I can see the stats fine on the individual component page within Monitor up to within a few minutes ago. Furthermore, when selecting the last 6+ hours, I can see server stats for the last 5 minutes for all 4 servers. Yet, when I switch the analysis to the last 2 hours, it sometimes displays no servers, or 1 server. It's random when I refresh the page. I attached a couple screenshots as an example. I was wondering if anyone had any insight to this issue before I submit a support case. Thank you!

There isn't necessarily a downside to installing it. Even if you don't benefit from any of the bug fixes contained within the patch, you can still install it. It won't hurt anything. Just follow your organization's procedures when installing it (backups, etc.)
