I'm getting the same error code 3018 but for a layer that is referenced from an Enterprise GeoDataBase with Attribute Rules. So in Portal there is no "edit tracking box". I still tried your solution and re-published the layer but still have the same error. I have 8 total layers in my map made the exact same way and only the one layer is having this issue. Very frustrating. Any thoughts or ideas?

Derek, the image above is our workflow for getting tiff images into portal and online. Doing it this way puts more strain on our local client instead of our Enterprise server (our Enterprise server is very full and busy and can't handle publishing images straight from Arcpro). Our Enterprise is 10.71

We are not able to get our maps in portal to download offline using collector when the map contains a scanned tiff image that we georefference. The map in settings says it can go offline and in collector the option to download map offline is given. However when we attempt to add an offline area the progress circle starts up and then about 10 seconds later it disappears and and backs us out with no error messages and also no offline areas. The map works fine when you have connectivity. We have made the exact same maps in the ESRI hosted Online environment and everything works offline. This leads me to believe it must have something to do with our Enterprise/Portal environment which currently is just a base deployment on a single machine. Or something with the collector app that interacts differently with portal then online? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Your kind of on track. I'm looking for a simple already made example like a youtube video showing how non-spatial data can be used in AcrGIS Insights to justify using ESRI. I'm really looking for an example that would speak to the manufacturing sector. Like my example of the cookie factory. When I tell them that ESRI can collect the data about how they make cookies and give them insights to what/how different variables effect the end product of the cookie the first question they are going to ask is why ESRI. There's nothing to map. That being said I don't totally disagree that ESRI may not be the best product but it's the product I know and I feel could deliver the analytics they are after. If I had an example it would go a long way.

I'm proposing the use of ESRI products to capture manufacturing data. Technically the data has location (an operating assembly line in an actual warehouse) but the analytics we are after are more about the data variables of the manufactured product which is non-spatial. Example, if we have 10 variables in our cookie recipe and we are conducting taste testing at the end we want to know why some taste good and other taste bad. We probably don't need to use ESRI but Survey 123 for data input for some of the 10 variables and live stream via geoevent server data collection for some of the others would effectively capture the data. From there ESRI has plenty of analysis tools to predict what settings the 10 variables should be set at to get great tasting cookies. This examples primary focus is non-spatial analysis but I suspect once this is established the question of comparing individual manufacturing lines at different facilities will play into this. Does anyone know of any good examples or case studies showing how ArcGIS Insights can be used to see what others can't with primarily non-spatial data. My audience will be non-GIS Executives with short attention spans, so no super long videos. Thanks and appreciate any help on this - Or tell me to stop force feeding every problem into the ESRI environment, LOL

Our field crew would like the ability to create line and polygon features using map scale measurement units. They do not use GPS and work indoors. It's difficult for them to draw a line feature that is 15' because there is no measurement tool while they are drawing the line. If they could start a line or poly feature and then have a visible measurement indicator as they drag there finger that would be very helpful. Or if the measurement tool results could save on the screen so they can measure out the path and then create the feature on top of the measured path. Note what I mean by "drag their finger". The current measurement tool works when you click two spots but what they want is to show a already known distance and not have to play the guessing game on where to click to get 15'. Thanks as always contact me if this is not clear. Would really appreciate this getting on an update schedule. Damon

Does anyone have a recent intro video showing off S123 capabilities that was created with non-gis people as the target. I'm trying to win over some upper managment type people. Thanks

To start we have an enterprise base deployment with no additional add-ons such as image server. We geo-reference drawings and images regularly and then publish them as a "map image" using the "share as web layer" to our portal/server. It seems to work in arcpro will little headaches. However when we do this the CPU, postgres, and arcsoc processes spike and bottleneck our enter enterprise system, sometimes so bad that it does not recover and we have to restart the server. I'm considering switching our workflow to publish as a "tile" layer type instead where we can cache locally. By doing this in theory I'll be putting the stress and processing power on my local machine instead of the enterprise server. Once done publishing and in our enterprise system they seem to have little impact on performance other then an additional service that refreshes however often we set it up for. Currently all we use these .tif images for in portal is to view them overlayed in our maps as background images. Is there anything above that's not correct, and is there anything I'm not taking into consideration in regards to functionality differences between the two different layer types? Thanks for any insight you can share

I'm regularly asked whats the difference between Online and Portal, not from the hosting side but the what can you do in portal that you can't do in online? An example would be using an "enterprise Gedatabase with layers that have attribute rules". Does anyone know where to find a functionality matrix that compares the two products side by side? Thanks

Got a question for the group on the "AutoDesk Connector for ArcGIS" Civil 3D. When I sign into my portal the only content I can get to work is the content shared publicly. Any content not shared publicly the wheel just spins forever with no error message? Anyone know anything about this??

I'm a little confused - Are you referencing the "ArcGIS for Auto CAD Plug-IN". I was talking about "ArcGIS Connector" which is in my 2020 civil 3d, just have to type it into the command line? Ultimately I just want to pull in my feature service layers from our Enterprise Portal into CAD Civil 3D where our engineers can then use those layers to design which feeds the layer in our portal. No more getting a CAD file from engineer and putting it in our system because it was in our system to begin with. I saw a demo that could do this workflow by a Belgium AutoDesk person at the Expo both at the 2019 ESRI UC. He said what he showed me was coming out this fall Sept/Oct.

Looks like it just came out. I'm able to use it in my 2020 Civil 3D. That being said I could sure use some training/help. Anyone know any resources or chat groups as we figure out how to optimize the new possible work flows this product will allow?
