Brian: You could use the steps outlined in the following technical article to add the domain codes to the CityAliases section of the locator grammar. You would add the city name and the alternates would be the domain values, so the input address could be the city name or the domain code. 45322 - Add city aliases to the address locator style

Locators built with suggestions should be stored in a file folder rather than in a file or enterprise geodatabase, primarily for performance reasons. The error message 001741 shown in the second screen shot is the result of storing the locator with suggestions enabled in a geodatabase. By storing the locator in a file folder you will also be able to make use of the 'number of threads' performance setting. In the next release of ArcGIS Desktop and in the current release of ArcGIS Pro locators stored in a geodatabase is not supported. The best way to share the locator would be to publish the locator stored in the file folder as a geocode services to ArcGIS Server and use the service by making a GIS Server connection to it in ArcMap/ArcCatalog. Other options are to make the geocode service available in your portal if you have Portal for ArcGIS.

Jared: I looked up the address on the USPS Look up Zip code tool and received the following details for the address and it looks like the 'ND' that was returned could be some sort of Mailing Industry code for sorting the mail. Go to the following link and click the 'Show Mailing Industry Details'. https://tools.usps.com/go/ZipLookupResultsAction!input.action?resultMode=1&companyName=&address1=1725+STOUT+FIELD+EAST+D… This link to the USPS Address Information Systems product goes over most of the headings that show in the Mailing Industry Details, https://ribbs.usps.gov/index.cfm?page=address_info_system -Shana

Kevin: In the following statement, " If I search for "256 N Coast Highway 101", I get the proper results. It's breaking out "Coast Highway 101" correctly as the 'StreetName'." do you mean that this is the result when using the SingleHouse locator or with the Subaddress locator? Do you have a screen shot of where you are seeing the standardization when using both locators? -Shana

Tim- I have used address locator styles that were created in version 10.0 and used it to build address locators in newer versions of the software. If you still have access to the ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 install, Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Locators folder and rename the USAddress.lot.xml. Then copy it to the same ...\Locators folder on the machine with the newer version. Change the file extension of the existing USAddress.lot.xml to USAddress.lot.lmx so that when you build the locator is does not reference this file to show you the list of available styles When you build the new locator and look at the properties it should the version of the locator should be displayed in the description section. Let me know how that works for you. -Shana

Jessiecar: Is the USAZip4 locator that you are using one that was included in the StreetMap Premium for ArcGIS product? I’m still not understanding what you mean about “accurately coordinates of an address to reference data”. Are you looking to get the XY coordinate of the matched address when you geocode addresses with the USAZip4 locator? Are you looking for the reference data that was used to create the USAZip4 locator ? Are you able to provide an example of what you are trying to get?
