@DavidCakalic Try creating a Preset Template, which allows you to create the same feature (or group of features) with the same anchor point location: Help: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/create-a-preset-template.htm

@LonerockAdmin I'm glad you have a fix. If you still can access it, it would be great to get the reproducible data/project to Esri Technical Support to log a bug to prevent other users from experiencing a crash.

@AndreasB sorry for the delay! Have you reached out to Esri Technical Support to log a defect? That way you can track the progress of a fix. FWIW, I can reproduce and am trying to get in touch with the correct internal team.

@MatthewParkman I see. That is definitely larger than the XY tolerance. Can you send me that project? I just tried your steps in my own map and I don't see a significant gap: I'll DM you my email address

Hi @MatthewParkman Thanks for following up. So far, the bugs presented to the development team have not reproduced a gap/overlap that is larger than the XY tolerance of the data. Zooming in beyond 1:1 is sometimes meaningless and the gaps/overlaps observed at that scale would not be considered gaps/overlaps when considering the XY tolerance. If you do have an example where a significant gap/overlap occurs, please consider logging a new defect with Esri Technical Support - or feel free to send me an direct message. -Scott

@HannahLegacy Are you using the Attributes pane? You should be able to use the "Add Selected To Relationship" command if you select the points and the polygon. Like this: ref: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/edit-feature-relationships.htm

@DavidGray1 Okay, so the doc you initially followed is actually for creating a feature template for use while creating a feature while editing- not a layer or a feature class. The doc in 3.4 refers to them as "editing templates" because that is the term we want to use going forward since it's easier to distinguish what they are used for: they are used while editing and can be found on the Edit ribbon (specifically within the Create Features/ Manage Templates panes). You can actually copy editing templates to a different map in the same project. I assume you are using 3.2 so here is the documentation link for that https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/3.2/help/editing/copy-feature-templates.htm One thing to note about that workflow: the layers will need to have the same name in order to copy them to the new map; however, they can reference different feature classes and even different workspaces (geodatabases) as long as the geometry type matches (points, lines, polygons, etc). I'm not aware of any functionality that allows you to create a template of an existing layer - beside the workflow that @LindaGreen has outlined in the response above. Maybe this info will help! -Scott

@DavidGray1 Can you share a link to the documentation page that you followed? It's possible that you are referring to editing templates but when you say "apply this template to create a new layer in a separate map" it sounds like you are wanting to create layers and not features. Editing templates are for creating features. I'm not aware of the concept of a layer template but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist in some form or another 🙂

@MatthewParkman
FYI The precision of the measure tool can be increased by increasing the number of decimal places for the given unit of measure under Options > Project > Units > Distance Units
The next time you see the "jump" you describe and the distance is larger than the XY tolerance of the data, please consider contacting Esri Technical Support to show them. The development team would be interested in seeing that case.

Maybe try clearing the local cache (found in Options > Display > Local Cache) ?

@MPach In more recent versions of the software, you can set the origin vertex of a polygon, but, unfortunately, this won't effect the position of the last vertex if it's not on the same part. Maybe having the ability to re-order parts would be a solution (if it existed)? See: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/change-feature-part-order-using-editing-tools/idi-p/1358837 Until then, you may want to turn off the option to 'Enable double-click as a shortcut for the Finish button'? This might cut down on the unwanted misclicks like you describe?
I'm going to think a bit more about other possible workarounds/solutions to what you are seeing though.
