Hi Vince,
It sounds like you are describing the following request: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/add-the-ability-to-move-multiple-annotations-in-pro-without/idi-p/939194
This is on the team's radar.
Thanks,
Scott

Hey Samuel, Update: In Pro version 2.5, I used the trace construction tool to create a new line in a feature class while tracing a polygon shapefile that's in a different coordinate system (projecting on-the-fly). This succeeds for me. That seems to be your scenario boiled down, but there is obviously another factor at play - so please see my previous comment about working with Technical Support if you are still stuck after going through a process of elimination. Thanks, Scott

Hi Samuel, I don't see an obvious reason why you wouldn't be able to trace. Based on the amount of layers you have and the fact that you are projecting on the fly while editing, it's going to be a process of elimination. I would recommend - in a new project, adding on the layer you want to edit (sub basin) and then add the layer you want to trace (parcels). At that point, does the status still report the projecting on the fly warning? Can you trace successfully? If no, I would suggest to work with Esri Technical Support, who can help narrow it down further - Esri Support Contact Support (mostly because Geonet is really not a good forum for doing tech support). If you have any trouble making a case with Technical Support, let me know. Meanwhile, with the information I have, I'll try to reproduce the scenario and report back. Thank you, Scott

Hi Samuel, You may want to check out the List By Editing and List By Snapping controls in the Contents pane: Make sure everything is editable and snap-able. Also, you can check for permission-type issues in the Editing Status window: Thanks, Scott

Hi Michael, Can you describe the join a bit more? A join to another feature class, a table in a geodatabase, an excel sheet? Thanks, Scott

Hey Axel, I'm glad that helped. I'm not sure what could cause the behavior you saw. This help article has some tips on the functionality: Automatically select related records—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Should the issue occur again, and you need help figuring it out, please reach out to Esri Technical Support - Esri Support Contact Support Thanks! Hi Matt, Thanks for the details and gif (Screen2GIF is great software for stuff like this ). There is not a way to give the Select tool in Pro the ability to move features. You must first activate the Move tool to move features, but once it is activated, you can select then move features as many times as you want. Perhaps you want to look into and set an Accelerator in Pro - Customize the ribbon options—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation I just set CTRL-M as the keyboard accelerator for the "Move (Move selected features)" command and that activates the Move tool any time I use that key combination. Thanks, Scott

Hi Matt, I'm trying to understand where you are losing time. You said "This is minor, but when you are moving a large number of individual features, the time really adds up". Can you please clarify your workflow to explain that a bit? FYI Once you activate the Move tool, it remains active so you can select another feature to move. Also, you can quickly get to the move tool while the Select tool is active by right-clicking on the map (the Select tool from the Map tab or the Edit tab). For example: You can see that I stayed on the map tab and never had to leave. Although, my preference is to be on the Edit tab, as I usually want to access other Modify tools and the Attributes pane. Thanks for any clarification, Scott

Hi Robert, Here is how it works: The Display units that you set in the map properties control the units for X and Y coordinates that you see in the Edit Vertices tool. The Map units in the map properties control the units for Z values that you see in the Edit Vertices tool. This is read-only and comes from the map’s coordinate system (see the information bubble in the screenshot below). One thing to note: if the layer has a vertical coordinate system defined, then the Z coordinates will derive from its vertical unit. If there isn't a vertical coordinate system defined for the layer, then the Z coordinates will default to the projected coordinate systems vertical unit (which will match the projected coordinate system's linear unit). In the screenshot below, I’ve tried to illustrate a possible example where the XY units may not match the Z units. In the screenshot, the layer’s XY coordinate system uses feet as the linear unit, so the map’s display units have been set to feet, which controls the XY units in the Edit Vertices tool. The XY coordinate system of the map is WGS 1984 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere), which uses a linear unit of meters, therefore, the Edit Vertices tool will display Z values in meters: As far as incorrect z-values when you copy and paste - we are investigating a possible scenario where that could occur. Can you please provide me with more details about the coordinate system(s) (XY and possibly Z) of your layer and the map - as well as information about the map units and display units as discussed above? EDIT: I know you have provided some information already, but perhaps some screenshots of the map's properties General tab and Coordinate System tab, as well as the layer's coordinate system tab will help. Thank you, Scott

Hey Axel - I think I understand what's going on. Try making sure Select related records is toggled in the table options for the buildings table: Now when you select your buildings, the Attribute pane will show those buildings and their related records. You can edit multiple selected records at once if you click on the root of the selection tree - in your screenshot above, where it says SHMBuiUse (130): Relevant documentation: Automatically select related records—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Edit feature attributes—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Does this help? Thanks! Scott

Hi Naomi, Domains for an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service are read-only in ArcGIS Pro - however, I believe they are not true domains once they are published to AGOL, meaning there is no split policy to modify. Here is what I see when I attempt to modify the domain of an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service: Also, when features are split the attributes should be copied to the newly split features. You should be able to verify this by using the attribute pane to check the attributes after splitting (you can have both panes open side-by-side). Thanks, Scott
