To close the loop: I spoke with @Lebowski and they had non-editable annotation, but were running the tool to upgrade the annotation (possibly at the same time), which most likely put a schema lock on the database. Therefore none of the data was editable and the modify tools were filtering the non-editable features from the selection. ... View more

@Lebowski  Matt was seeing the active edit tool (in his case Explode) was filtering the selection that Select By Attributes was returning. This is because the Explode tool can only select multipart features. He hit the back button in the modify features pane, which deactivated the Explode tool and then he was able to perform the Select By Attributes without the selection being filtered.   I'm not sure what behavior you're seeing. @ChrisNewton Are you sure the problem is limited to float fields? I ask because you only have 1 field in that feature class in the screenshot. Also, where is the File Geodatabase located? @KeithAddison1  Edit tab > Modify > Reshape Select the polygon. Sketch new geometry for the corner of the polygon, making sure it intersects the polygon twice. While sketching, you can use make use of some of the segment construction tools like Intersection or Right-Angle. Also make sure to turn on Snapping so you can snap to the edge of the polygon while sketching. Here is how it can work with the Intersection construction tool: Does that help? -Scott     ... @anna_garrett Along with assigning an accelerator like @KoryKramer mentioned, you can enable the option to "Save edits when saving the project" in Project > Options > Editing.   If you do, every time you save a project (using CTRL+S or by clicking the save project button) you (optionally) get prompted to save edits. A few things you can look into that Support can assist with: check for geometry issues: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/checking-and-repairing-geometries.htm check the XY tolerance and resolution of the data.
