Hi, I'd probably submit it in the ArcGIS Online ideas exchange https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-ideas/idb-p/arcgis-online-ideas thanks, Andrew

Hi, There are ongoing discussions on adding support for voxel layers. I would recommend logging an idea and then you can track the status of the idea over time. thanks, Andrew

Hi Alex, There are no known issues with adding netCDF files to ArcGIS Pro 3.0. Everything that worked pre 3.0 continue to work in 3.0 so I suspect something else is at play here. I would recommend logging a technical support case so an analyst can screenshare with you and take a deeper look to find the quickest resolution. https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support thanks, Andrew

Hi, I reached out to another team to get clarification on this and they confirmed that the core styles use the common name and not the genus. The match layer symbology to a style will always use the symbol name so in this case it will only work with common name. If you only had data with genus you could create a new style where the symbol name of the realistic tree matches the genus and then in that case it would work to use the match layer symbology to a style but it sounds like it will still work for you to use common name moving forward. thanks, Andrew

Hi, This is what I gathered from this topic: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/2.8/help/mapping/layer-properties/supported-tree-genus-types.htm Supported tree genus names are listed, sorted by common name. Data with matching genus names is drawn with the corresponding tree model. Data with an unknown or undefined genus is drawn with the Generic Tree symbol, unless the data value corresponds, at least partially, to a Common Name listed below In the old preset you had the generic tree symbol when it was undefined but that's not the case in the new workflow. Hopefully that answers your question. thanks, Andrew

I will say the workflow you are attempting to do will be easier in the ArcGIS Pro 3.1 (early 2023) release. The GeoStats team just installed a new tool Nearest Neighbor 3D which allows you to create a netCDF from categorical 3D points by assigning each voxel the category of the nearest neighbor in 3D. It will also allow you to input a minimum elevation raster and maximum elevation raster to constrain the output to an irregular study area so be on the lookout for that! thanks, Andrew

Hi, To answer your questions: 1. Real world units can be enabled in the layer properties. Right click layer > Properties > Display tab 2. There's a couple different workflows you can try a. In the Symbology pane click the burger button > Match layer symbology to a style Run this tool b. Another option is to convert the symbology of your old preset layer to the unique value renderer. From there you can run the Apply Symbology From Layer geoprocessing tool on the new layer with the symbology from the old layer. Hopefully one of these options will work well for your data. In a future release, one of the teams is working on a similar UI that will streamline this process a bit more. thanks, Andrew

Hi, Here are some details that will hopefully explain this better: Better workflows/new technologies: The Add Elevation Source Layer dialog was added to add data dropdown The Add subtype layer dialog was added to add data dropdown Realistic/Preset trees can be added through system styles Ready-to-use layers are now available via OSM trees The preset layer does not hook into the other symbology enhancements that have been made over the years Platform capability: Preset layers are not fully supported across the ArcGIS Platform. Using feature layers/scene layers affords more capabilities supported by the web scene spec and scene viewer. Usage: We monitored the usage of this workflow over the years and found it was utilized very little. The user interface was restrictive and did not allow much additional functionality that can be leveraged through a feature layer or scene layer. It’s never easy to remove something that has been in the software for years but based on the previous points multiple teams in coordination with product management made the decision to deprecate this. While the UI is not there the same behavior can be achieved in 3.0 using the out of the box system styles for 3D thematic and realistic vegetation. Leverage these styles with attribute-driven symbology and you will have the same output. Additionally, we have added new ready-to-use OSM realistic and thematic trees that can be accessed from ArcGIS Online. I have placed some links below for the various workflows. Attribute-driven symbology https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/attribute-driven-symbology.htm ArcGIS Pro system styles https://esri-styles.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=6b9ad70589bb42788251b465487a6ac0 Add System styles https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/projects/connect-to-a-style.htm#GUID-F0F6BA63-F617-4ADA-B153-428A809942B5 OSM trees https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-living-atlas/mapping/new-osm-3d-scene-layers/

Hi, Preset layers have been deprecated. This has been documented on the main help topic as well as release notes for 3.0 https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/preset-layers.htm https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/release-notes.htm Technical article: https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000027469 thanks, Andrew

Hi, The vast majority of cases that we've seen are related to excel drivers not being installed or the wrong ones being installed. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/excel/prepare-to-work-with-excel-in-arcgis-pro.htm#LI_6C0EF8ACE83C4599AFC35141822488C4 If that still does not resolve that then the quickest way to resolve this is to reach out to technical support and they can screenshare with you and take a look at your environment etc to resolve the issue. https://support.esri.com/en/request-case thanks, Andrew

Hi David, Based on how I read the doc in the tool, the output of the NetCDF will not be suitable for a voxel layer no matter how the input data is structured. I would recommend using the Raster to NetCDF tool and in that tools doc it specifies it will format the netCDF properly. "The tool writes variable as regularly spaced gridded data following the CF conventionsLink to CF Conventions website. Therefore, the variable in the output netCDF file is suitable for creating a voxel layer." https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/multidimension/raster-to-netcdf.htm thanks, Andrew
