Hi, Are you able to share one of the lidar datasets so I can take a deeper look at this on our end?

Hi, This workflow is not intended for slpks as they are cache only and cannot be edited. You have to share the data as a web scene layer in order to get the associated feature layer for it to be editable. This blog details the scene layer editing story https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-pro/3d-gis/scene-layer-editing-in-arcgis-pro-2-2/ To achieve full functionality with scene layer editing it is best to share the web scene layer by reference to Portal for ArcGIS. There are still some backend enhancements that need to be made on the ArcGIS side of things so currently multipatch (3D Object) editing is not supported in ArcGIS . As far as credits are concerned here is the breakdown for server side caching 1 credit per 1,000 textured multipatch features 1 credit per 5,000 untextured multipatch features or point features Understand credits—ArcGIS Help | ArcGIS thanks, Andrew

Hi, Wanted to close the loop on this. Scene Layer editing support was added at 2.2. Have you had a chance to test out that functionality? Does that satisfy the requirements in this idea? Thanks. Edit a scene layer with associated feature layer—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Yes, there is a cost to store data. For feature storage it is 2.4 credits per 10 MB stored per month, calculated hourly and for file and tile storage it is 1.2 credits per 1 GB stored per month. You can monitor credit usage to determine if you are using too much or the right amount on the status page. View status—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS regards, Andrew

Hi Marco, It sounds like these are untextured features so in that case it would only cost 1 credit per 5,000 features so you would use 4 credits for 20,000 features. The following help doc breaks down credit costs. Understand credits—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS

I discussed this with the Web Scene team and it looks like the Web Scene will always access the compressed textures for performance reasons. There's no way for it to switch to the JPEG textures in the scene service. Right now, the scene layer package or scene service will display properly if its consumed in a desktop client such as ArcGIS Pro. Our internal contact who can reach out to Agisoft is out of the office but as soon as he is back i'll have him reach out to them so we can get this fixed as quickly as possible. Vytautas mentoned osgb but one thing with the new Create Integrated Mesh tool is that it requires a stricter naming convention in this first release so i'm not sure if the output from Photoscan will work as input to the tool unless that is something you want to test. Sorry for the bad news but my hope is this is something Agisoft can fix quickly!

The issue here is that the dds file, which is a container that contains the dxt texture and the pyramids is missing the pyramids. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to create the pyramids after the slpk has already been created. Moving forward, i'll check with our Web Scene team to see if there's any way to fallback to the JPEG texture so it'll display properly in ArcGIS Online. I'll also see if we have a contact at Agisoft so we can notify them that the slpks are not being created properly. Drone2Map does create the slpks properly but that would require reprocessing the original imagery and it is a premium application so it would be an additional cost. I'll see what I can find out and be back in touch.

Hi Charles, Our developer was able to narrow down the problem to the compressed textures missing pyramids (or mipmaps). The i3s specification requires that compressed textures contain pyramids but it looks like Photoscan is not writing out the pyramids. When you are exporting to slpk in Photoscan do you have any options that you can set? thanks, Andrew

I wanted to follow up on this. I believe what you were trying to do was add direct input of multipatch feature class into the create scene layer package tool. The tool only accepts feature layer input but at 2.2 the validation broke so it was allowing feature class input leading to error 999999. We fixed the validation in 2.2.1 patch so now it will throw an invalid input data validation error. Please let me know if you continue to have any problems.

Hi Charles, Just wanted to give you an update. I believe this behavior could be related to either a texture compression corruption or incorrect texture coordinates. I'm having a developer look into it deeper. Within the slpk there are jpeg textures, which ArcGIS Pro is reading from and compressed textures, which ArcGIS Online is reading from. That's why we are seeing a difference in behavior between the clients. I'll update you once we have narrowed it down further and then discuss next steps. thanks! -Andrew

Hi, It sounds like you are trying with direct multipatch feature class input into the tool. Can you try adding the multipatch feature class to the scene first and then selecting the multipatch from the dropdown in the tool? thanks, Andrew

I think it's best at this point to get a support case open. The support analyst can take a deeper look at your system via screenshare to see what could be leading to this problem. You can request a case via this website Esri Support Contact Support Even if you are not on maintenance you can call and request a one-time courtesy case with our Server team to get this resolved.
