Hi Karl, Thanks for your feedback. We do not currently have plans to support editing of scene layers packages (.slpks). For editing the features themselves we recommend publishing a scene service with an associated feature service to a portal (ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS). For scene layer packages, we are looking to provide support for clipping, rotating, and reprojecting to another coordinate system. Can you clarify what you mean regarding restrictions you are encountering editing scene services? Also, please provide some more details in specific workflows where you would like edit the features in an slpk over a scene service. thanks! Andrew

Nicolas, I wanted to follow up as there are some additional docs that the Enterprise Team provided in regards to this. This is listed in step 22 in the upgrade your ArcGIS Enterprise doc Upgrade your ArcGIS Enterprise portal—Portal for ArcGIS (Windows) Installation Guide | ArcGIS Enterprise "You must additionally install the Web Styles setup to use a complete set of 3D symbology fromScene Viewer. For additional information, see Scene Viewer requirements." Here are the Scene Viewer requirements Scene Viewer requirements—Portal for ArcGIS (Windows) Installation Guide | ArcGIS Enterprise What's new in portal for arcgis What's new in the ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 portal—Portal for ArcGIS (10.7 and 10.7.1) | ArcGIS Enterprise If there's additional locations where you were looking and didn't see it please let us know! thanks, Andrew

Hi Nicolas, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused! I'll reach out to the Enterprise Team in technical support to make sure they are aware of this change. Additionally, I will reach out to our Enterprise Team in development to see if there's additional documentation that I may have missed. regards, Andrew

I didn't see it mentioned but did you install the Portal for ArcGIS Web Styles from my esri? At 10.7.1 this was separated out from the main installation of Portal. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 quick start guide—Quick Start Guides | ArcGIS Desktop Portal for ArcGIS Web Styles—provides the complete set of 3D symbology for use in ArcGIS Enterprise portal’s Scene Viewer. It is to be applied on top of the Portal for ArcGIS setup.

Hi John, Thanks for sharing the screenshot, its a nice building you got there! Those layers will only be removed from the building scene layer if they are empty. If you add the revit file back into the scene and open the attribute table for one of those layers it should be empty. regards, Andrew

Hi John, Glad to hear it's working! If you run into any issues with the scene layer feel free to let me know. To recap: 1) To convert the whole revit file to a scene layer add it to ArcGIS Pro and run Create Building Scene Layer Package tool 2) To convert only one of the layers (e.g. casework) you would need to copy it to a geodatabase > Add the feature class to a scene > run the Create 3D Object Scene Layer Package tool Building scene layer—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Hi John, You shouldn't have to manually create the group layer structure. If you add the revit file to a new local scene via Map Tab > Add Data > Select Revit file. The building layer will be created as is for you. It should look like the screenshot below. If this is not the case then it's possible there something else going on with the revit file but let me know first if this works for you?

Hi John, Nope you aren't doing anything wrong here! I thought you were trying to convert the whole revit file. In order to create a Building Scene Layer we require the Discipline structure to be maintained so it is not supported to take out an individual category layer and convert it to a building scene layer. Since you are looking to do this with the casework layer you would need to first use the Copy Features tool to copy it to a geodatabase and from there you could create a layer using the Make Feature Layer tool and then run it through the Create 3D Object Scene Layer Package tool. Please let me know if you have any further questions! thanks, Andrew

Hi John, The Create Building Scene Layer Package tool only accepts building layer as an input. In this case you would need to create a layer file from the revit data and then use that as input to the tool. At this point you would have to bring it into a scene in ArcGIS Pro and then right click > Sharing > Save As Layer File. The CAD team is currently working on a Make Building Layer tool so in a future version of Pro you would want to use that tool in the model builder model. thanks, Andrew

Hi Jason, This property wasn't written into the slpk which is why you are seeing that behavior in the Scene Viewer. We fixed that a couple of weeks ago in 2.5 and hope to get it into a future patch of 2.4. thanks, Andrew

Hi, Can you answer some of these questions to help narrow down the issue? What coordinate system is the slpk in? Have you tried adding to both a global and local scene? Have you tried turning off the elevation source to ensure it is not blocking the data? Have you tried adjusting the display limit to say 9,000,000? Thanks! -Andrew

Hi, A scene layer package is a cached dataset so right now there is no way to convert the package to a different dataset. Scene layer packages can be viewed in Esri apps such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Earth, Scene Viewer and 3rd party apps such as ContextCapture, Vricon, Pix4D and Skyline Photomesh. -Andrew
