Thank you for the suggestion Stan. My problem remains because I want to have this app available in ArcGIS Online. Since you gave me a workaround, I am assuming that I cannot manipulate the app code in AGOL directly. Correct? So, I am also assuming that this is a bug in the AGOL version of Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS. --Adam

At the time you posted this question, I do not believe it was fixed yet. It was eventually fixed, but it is now broken again. ArcGIS Online changed the configuration of the date/time popup. It is explained HERE. It appears that Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS has not picked up on this new configuration, as it does not work anymore. I asked the question here if you would like to follow that discussion:Date/Time (with seconds) in OD? --Adam

Since the change in date/time formatting in the AGOL popup configuration as noted HERE, I have not been able to show date and time in the Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS popup. Is the team aware of this new popup configuration in AGOL and are you working to fix it in OD? Thanks! -Adam

Ryan Bosley wrote: I was having the same problem. There seems to be a bug where empty base maps are added to the list in the config file. By removing the empty base map JSON objects in the config, the issue was resolved for me. Can you tell me how to access the config file of the WebApp in AGOL? Thanks! -_Adam

All of the base maps are of the same spatial reference as the Esri base maps.

When I configure the Basemap Gallery Widget in the Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS, the basemaps are not available in the Web App Viewers. I have tried this in current versions of IE10, Chrome and Safari (iOS). I have a basemap gallery group that I have configured in our Organization, if that matters. Is anyone else having problems making the basemaps appear for the web app viewer?

Hello again Mike Minami! The change that you proposed was implemented, but it looks like it was left out in the last update of ArcGIS Online! It was very useful and hope that it comes back. When AGOL gets it back, then we have to bother Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS to cover the change in their product. Thanks, --Adam

I got an answer from a GeoEvent employee: My incoming feed has three numeric fields that contain a '+' sign if the number is positive. Earlier versions of GeoEvent Extension handled this. 10.3 does not. As I understand it, this was taken out because of different locales needing the ability to set their numeric formatting to their standards. Esri staff is looking into a workaround for me. I will post the gist of it if anyone is interested.

Is anyone else having problems with a Receive Text from TCP socket and GeoEvent definitions in 10.3? I have a lightning feed that I have to establish a connection with as a client, so I have to modify the input a bit, BUT... This has worked for me in 10.2.1 and 10.2.2, but now with 10.3, everything has stopped. I narrowed it down to pre-defining the geoevent definition. If I format any of the fields as "Double" or "Integer", the input will not receive the feed. Is anyone else seeing anything like this? Since this is not a clean install, maybe I need to delete everything in the GeoEvent folder sturcture and reinstall? Thank you, --Adam

For those interested, I got an email answering this question. I will quote it. It is pretty straightforward, although there is no tutorial that walks through it.: The dialog / workflow does not appear to have changed between 10.2.2 and 10.3: - From the Site > Data Stores page in GeoEvent Manager you should select to ‘Register ArcGIS Server’ - Select the ‘AGOL’ radio button to specify that you’re registering an connection to ArcGIS Online - You should only need to enter: o A name for the connection (e.g. My_AGOL) o A username / password used to log-in to your Organization o The default update interval is 5 minutes - Click ‘Register’ If you want to test to see if you’ve successfully registered the connection to the server, try importing a GeoEvent Definition. You should be able to select your registered Server connection to the AGOL Organization and discover any hosted feature services / feature layers in existing service folders. Thank you!!! --Adam

Hi Christine,
Questions regarding free named users with ArcGIS Server:
Are these per license?
I believe so. (I am hoping to be corrected by an Esri employee if I am wrong!) Portal for ArcGIS?
Ex: If we have 2 Advanced Enterprise licenses, do we get 2 x 50 free named users?
Again, I believe so...
How about staging licenses?
I would doubt it, but you would need at least 2 or 3 I would think. Hoping that this will bump the thread again for you... --Adam

Hello all, We have a number of aircraft with camera systems capable of transmitting live video. This wireless transmission is received by an antenna that we deploy where we need it, but it is effectively in a fixed position. This receive antenna is usually elevated on a building or a portable tower in an attempt to get it above local barriers (other building, trees, etc.). I need to create maps that depict where an aircraft can fly and have an unobstructed view of the receive antenna. I do not have much experience in 3D, so bear with me. My idea was to use all returns of LiDAR in the area to create an elevation raster surface. Next, create a volume (multipatch?) up from the area of interest, then somehow cut out the areas that can't be seen by the receive antenna. I would then create polygons at various elevations and clip them with the multipatch to create simple maps to deploy. I found this article: ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) and thought it could be a start. The problem is, I get to the limited directions in "Extended analysis, case 2" where things go wrong. I have created the Skyline from the 30' elevated 3D point and then run Skyline Barrier with every conceivable variation of settings, getting either no result that I can see or the complete opposite of what I expect to get (like the 1st picture in "case 2"). The result that I can see is a multi patch of what the 3D point should not be able to see, but also everything below the plane of the 3D point. (I will add a picture as soon as I can) The last part of this... I am using ArcGIS Pro to do this. I can switch back to Desktop 10.2.1, but have to wait until I am back in the office to do so. Any help from my friends at Utilities and Communications? Am I using the right tools to approach this problem, or do I just need a bit more education in the use of those tools? Thank you for any guidance you can give, Adam Message was edited by: Adam Repsher to add image.
