I just got back from the DevSummit, and the word is that Runtime release 100.5 is supposed to support annotation and reference scales, and is due out the end of March.

Hey, this continues to be a great conference (IMO the only one really worth attending ever since the first year). My kudos this year are to the Palm Springs Convention Center for their redesigned coffee cups! Someone had to say "no" to loose sleeves. The whiffle of the year goes to the wristband implementation: you couldn't get it set up on time. All that aside, the one conflict I've really been trying to digest is that between the Cartographic Information Model and the Web Map Specification. Officially, the Runtime team support the latter, but then they trumpet greater parity with Pro, but you can't do that without adopting CIM. IMO, native development should not be held up by the deficiencies of JS.

Rex Hansen seriously annoyed me at the Runtime Road Ahead session Thursday, by asserting that mobile map packages do not currently store group layer info for 2D maps. All you have to do is look at the JSON in the corresponding .mmap file, and you can easily parse that information. I've taken the liberty to attach an example.

I've confirmed I still see the bug at 2.3.1 -- I tried rebuilding my Python environment as well, with no difference.

Starting at Pro 2.3, EnableNetworkTopology_un fails when I use the "ONLY_ERRORS" option: ERROR 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail. Contact Esri Technical Support (http://esriurl.com/support) to Report a Bug, and refer to the error help for potential solutions or workarounds. Unexpected operation It works just fine without the "ONLY_ERRORS" option. Then when I disable topology and unregister as versioned, I run into the same problem again. Has anyone else seen this?

That did the trick, thanks. I'm surprised the default value wasn't automatically filled when I populated the asset package.

This might be the issue: I create connectivity associations between each meter and a junction so that I can have multiple meters per assembly. Here's an example of an association record that I import: ASSOCIATIONTYPE,FROMFEATURECLASS,FROMASSETGROUP,FROMASSETTYPE,FROMGLOBALID,FROMTERMINAL,TOFEATURECLASS,TOASSETGROUP,TOASSETTYPE,TOGLOBALID,TOTERMINAL,ISCONTENTVISIBLE Junction Junction Connectivity,PipelineDevice,Meter,Customer,{31C37CF7-CF62-4700-BB1D-90EDEC05F4FD},Single Terminal,PipelineJunction,Connection Point,Riser Connection,{06AD49ED-BE80-4DC5-ACD5-C28436EC0DC4},Single Terminal, Is there something I need to change?

I don't populate a value. Do I need to change that to "Default" now for all single terminal devices?

My network configuration (based on UPDM) which worked fine at 2.2 is failing at 2.3. My customer meters are at the default single terminal configuration, and when I enable topology, every single meter gets error type 39 "Point feature has invalid terminal configuration". Has anyone else seen this issue?

I've successfully pinpointed the cause of the crash originally reported: it will occur if I take the UPDM asset package and add a many-to-many relationship class between PipelineAssembly and PipelineDevice, as below: sRelClassName = "UNSGPipelineAssembly_PipelineDevice"
arcpy.CreateRelationshipClass_management(
"PipelineAssembly", "PipelineDevice", sRelClassName,
"SIMPLE", "Device", "Assembly", "NONE", "MANY_TO_MANY", "NONE",
"GLOBALID", "ASSEMBLY_GID", "GLOBALID", "DEVICE_GID")
arcpy.AddGlobalIDs_management(sRelClassName)
self.AddEditorTracking(sRelClassName)
I'm attaching a second asset package with that modification. In the meantime, I should be able to work around this issue by creating the relationship class after the asset package is applied, rather than going back to untools 2.2.0.

I followed your advice and tried it on a new database. No errors. Apparently I'm not vacuuming the GDB as cleanly as I could.
