How about using an HTML special character in your text and manually adding an empty line between your text blocks to mimic bullet points? There is a bullet point character but maybe the diamond might be more visible in practice.

It could be that your normal.mxt has gone corrupt. Go to this folder on your c: drive: C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.6\ArcMap\Templates ...and rename the normal.mxt to normal.bkp or something else. Now try restarting Arcmap. The application won't find the normal.mxt so it will make a new one and then finally (hopefully) open up.

Thanks, Dan. This did occur to me and so I tried this. When I compared the output to a previous dataset from a couple years back, the converted data seemed wildly inconsistent so that led me to doubt this option. I need to email the contact back anyways so I will ask them about the proper way to revert it back to normal values.

I feel dumb asking this but I have been provided a raster where "...raw attribute values have been multiplied by a power of 10 to retain attribute precision." It stands to reason that I need to do the opposite of this to get back to the original raster values. From the various tools found within the Spatial Analyst Toolboxes, the Power Tool creates the raster that I originally received but I'm at a loss to find the appropriate tool to "undo" what the Power tool did. The help information doesn't mention this so which tool should I use to get the original (valid) values? Thanks! Steve

Kanin- The app is self hosted, on premises, inside Portal, which I believe is at Version 10.71. The Web AppBuilder Dashboard Theme was used primarily because that's what was used by the consultant who originally developed the Dashboard and I was unable to replicate their layout inside of the Operations Dashboard App Option. Their layout uses the 3x3 layout where the entire center column is the map area and the far left/right columns are 3 rows of widgets. See the screenshot below: If I am able to replicate this Dashboard layout in the ArcGIS Experience Builder, I am open to rebuilding it in there.

After replicating some Dashboards that a consultant had originally developed, I've received some feedback / wish list items from our users. First- our Dashboards are self-hosted in our onsite Portal and the Dashboards were created using the Dashboard Theme option using Create->App->Using the WebApp Builder option from inside Portal. In each of the Dashboards, we have the Filters widget included in our Dashboard and one of the expressions inside the filter involves a date field. The Expression is- Date is between (date 1) AND (date 2). Both Date 1 and Date 2 are dropdown date picker calendar where the user clicks on a date of a given month. What I've been asked is whether this can be changed so that someone can just manually type in a date such as MM/DD/YYYY rather than scrolling to that date using the calendar date picker. This does not appear possible to me. Is this true?

Yeah, this has been irritating the whole time. Don't know why they don't allow you to chose which format you want (or why it actually defaulted to KMZ for that matter).

Postmortem- I was unable to resolve this issue, as described. Since editing did work through a Portal based webmap, I created a Portal webmap and then altered the 4.x Editor Widget Sample to match my environment. Not happy about it since editing using the 4.x Editor requires more mouse clicks than before but that's life, living in ESRI's world.

Update- I don't believe this is a publishing issue with Portal. When I visit the Portal Item page for my feature layer, I choose "Open in Map Viewer" and the Edit button is present. I am able to edit attributes or add features.

I'm starting to wonder if this is more a question for the Portal crowd but I'm baffled at this. I have a simple JS API app I built using the 3.x API to edit and add features to a layer in SDE. The original app workflow was that the two SDE layers were published to ArcGIS Server from Arcmap and then I used my JS app to perform edits and additions to the two layers. The layers and app are not public facing (they're behind the firewall). Our IT wants to retire the server that was originally hosting the data so I needed to re-publish into our Portal install from ArcGIS Pro. I published to Portal from ArcGIS Pro (the data is still in the same SDE source location and NOT hosted inside of Portal). I then registered the app with Portal and added the needed code for the IdentityManager and OAuthInfo so that access can be granted to the data. The app loads and the features display. The Editor widget does not. There are no errors in the console and, in fact, I know the Editor Widget does get created. When I do click on a feature, I finally get an error: To me, this suggests that the editor widget does start and initialize but isn't finding any "editable" layers in the map (hence the undefined). But....how is this? From inside of ArcGIS Pro, the source layer properties show that editing is allowed: ...from the publishing to Portal dialog, it shows that editing is allowed: The one thing on the Portal side that I see is that "Create View Layer" does not appear as an option on the published feature layer's Portal Item page. So- has anyone else had to deal with this and figured it out?? Thanks- Steve

Nevermind. I finally figured it out and it wasn't intuitive. Starting with the 2x3x2 grid that I described, I drug the map panel to the bottom center of the bottom row to make a 3 panel bottom row. Next, I took panel 4 and drug it to the bottom of the lefthand side column. I then repeated this for panel 6 on the righthand side. Finally I repeated the same operation for the two panels on the top row of widgets. As you shuffle the panels downard, it eventually "builds" the center map panel until it occupies the center position for all three rows of widgets.

I'm replicating an existing dashboard (not hosted on my account) using the Portal's Webapp Builder for ArcGIS Dashboard theme. I started with a dashboard that is a 3 x 3 grid of squares like this: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and cell 5 is the location of the map. What I want is to have the map expand so that it occupies cells 2,5, and 8 in the example above. I would then have 3 vertical widgets on each side of the map. I know this is possible but I can't get it to work. I deleted cells 2 & 8 in the layout modify section but I can't force that map cell to expand up or down and split cells 1/3 and 7/9. What am I missing? Thanks! Steve

3. Content and Archives Many users noted that there is an abundance of outdated content in the community. To provide more current search results, we will be implementing an archival rule on questions, videos, events, and discussions from before 2019 with view counts that have less than 100 views. Blogs will be available with no archival rules applied. Any content that is in a Group will not be subject to any archival rules. Please note: Archived content will not be deleted, just removed from the general community's view or access. Content in the archive can be requested to bring forward by reaching out to the GeoNet team. Do not agree with this. If you want to de-prioritize it in search results, fine, but actively hiding it and forcing users to jump through extra hoops to find answers to their problems isn't acceptable. Sure, searching why I'm getting a 401 redirect error when trying to log into Portal is a niche problem compared to someone who can't figure out how to change a symbol in ArcGIS Pro but c'mon. And why 2019? 2012, 2014-15 would be a better cut off for this. Last year? What makes 2019 a "quantum shift" year? The bottom line for me is that you never know where the answer to your problem will appear. I do not like ESRI making that decision for me.

I have a JS API app that I need to now play nice with Portal. I've migrated the services used in the app into Portal and I'm trying to register the app inside of Portal per the Help Page instructions but I'm confused about one part of the settings. It's just not clear to me what the redirect URIs are actually supposed to be (under App Registration). Let's say the URL to my JS API app is https://serverName/appName/index.html Is that what goes in this Redirect URI section? Do I instead/also enter the URL for my Portal's Home page? The problem I'm experiencing is that when my app currently loads, the user needs to log in to Portal so that those services can load. I'm currently getting the Invalid_Redirect_URI 400 Error. I realize that this can be a web adaptor issue but I want to make sure what I have control over is correct before I take this up with our Portal Admin folks. Thanks! Steve

Not a JS question, per se, but this group of people have likely encountered this so.... Our internal ArcGIS Server is slated to be retired shortly and the guidance I received regarding my apps was to migrate those services to our new Portal install. Ok, fine. One of my JS API apps, however, utilizes several print templates which, under the ArcGIS Server environmental, was stored on the relevant server in C:\arcgisserver\directories\arcgisoutput\print_templates I have copied my JS code onto the replacement server but that server does not have an ArcGIS Server instance installed. I'm at a loss to figure out- where do I place my MXD print templates so that my app can continue to use them? Thanks! Steve
