Depending on the security settings of those services, it is possible. Tricky is a good way of putting it! I wrote up this into an enhancement on our end: ENH-000131441 Develop a way to import ArcGIS REST based services and tables into PowerBI, feel free to log a case to request your account to be added to this if you would like. Please let me know if you have any follow ups!

Hey there Randy, At this point in time, that is correct: data from your AGOL organization and ArcGIS Enterprise is currently limited to being reference data. That being said, we have enhancements logged toward expanded functionality with these data, so I would suggest logging a case to add you account to the enhancement. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hey Julia, You are able to add points and polygons to the visualizer but with a catch... To add polygons, you must geocode the layer by a polygon type dataset. Example: If I bring in zip codes into the location field the visual will match up the data to zip code polygons. So if your data is subdivided into these types of data then it should be possible to bring them in as polygons.

Hey there Grant, To sign into ArcGIS Online via PowerBI, you must have an ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI Add on License granted to the account see this link for more information. That being said, there are some changes coming down the pipe with this licensing model that will greatly increase availability for this app, stay tuned! Looking at your screenshot, it appears that you are trying to enter your ArcGIS Online organization ID into the ArcGIS enterprise setting. You will want to use the first option. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ahh I see, thank you for clarifying. The publication to SharePoint workflow is a grey area in terms of ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint. While some of the functions can work, publishing to SharePoint tehcnically falls under "Publish to Web" which is not supported (per this document). There is an enhancement of this issue: ENH-000130489 : Add Publish to Web support to ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI visualizer in PowerBI Online which has a status of assgned. Please log a case with Esri Technical Support to be added to this enhancment.

Hey there Jayhee, At this point in time, there is no way of hiding the tooltip attributes for reference layers. If you are able to do so, I would suggest opening a support ticket to investigate this further and possible log something for this behavior. You are able to configure tool tips for your own data by following this workflow, however: Configure and view tooltips—ArcGIS Maps for Power BI | Documentation

Hello Debbie, thank you for reaching out. ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI recently went through a GUI change that affected this workflow. Could you provide me with the version information of PowerBI Desktop you are using? At this new release, you are now able to conduct analysis with a single pin. This is a significant change from the previous version of the software, more info on this can be found here: Pin a location—ArcGIS Maps for Power BI | Documentation In short, to set new locations you must enter an address, keyword, or location to identify the pin. this was done to increase geographic consistency with your searches. Once this is done, you should be able to select the pinned location: Select locations on the map—ArcGIS Maps for Power BI | Documentation Lastly for the radial analysis, you will need to use the Find Nearby function: Find nearby locations—ArcGIS Maps for Power BI | Documentation I recognize that this is a drastic change to the way the visual previously looked. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I will be happy to assist any way I can.

(Copying my reply from your other post for consistency) Hello Mustafa, Thank you for reaching out! To add data to ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI, follow the steps in this documentation: Prepare your data To add data to ArcGIS Maps for Excel, follow the steps in this documentation: Add layers from Excel Depending on how you edit data in Maps for Office (Excel) i.e changing the value manually in the table, the data should update. This goes for PowerBI as well, although that is highly dependent on how the data is brought into PowerBI (if its brought in as a static table, then the dataset will not update, however if you bring it in as a database source it will update upon refresh). For your last question, there is no way of converting a QGIS map into an ArcGIS Map to my knowledge. However you should be able to rebuild the map in Pro by brining in the individual layers and rebuilding the symbology and other map properties from there. Hope that helps!

Hey Andy, At the current iteration of ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI, there is no way to bring in a feature layer as an analysis layer. The only way to do so is as you said to connect the dataset via PowerBI. The only other options I could see is making the layer in question available publicly an importing the layer via web. Obviously this opens up the data for everyone who has the rest endpoint but that is an option.

Hello all, At this point in time, embed to web has not been enabled for the ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI visual. We have logged an enhancement on this ENH-000130489: Add Publish to Web support to ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI visualizer in PowerBI Online, which has the current status of In product plan. While I am unable to comment as to when this will be resolved, I am able to say that the product team is very much aware of this limitation, and is working diligently with Microsoft on a resolution. If you are able to do so, I would encourage you to log a case with Esri Tech support to add your account to this enhancement.

Hello Clemens, The Standard license is included in all installations of ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI. No license is required to work with the plugin. If your goal is to use reference layers from your trial organization. I would suggest sharing those layers publicly which will enable you to use the layer as a reference layer in ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint. To my knowledge, the premium license is not included in the ArcGIS Online trial subscription at this time. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
