Hi Muqsit -- I have a feeling that you missed removing the "Status" field from the popup. In the first part, while creating a view, there is a section "Still in the Visualization tab, Configure Pop-up (which defines the editing experience in Collector):" and some things to do for the popup. One of the things to do is to only include certain fields in the popup (and thus what the user can enter in Collector) -- and the status field isn't included. By removing it from the popup, Collector users can't change the value for it.

Hi Katherine -- With Collector, there are two ways to get a basemap offline: Make a map package (TPK) that you'd sideload to the device. This isn't supported with the World Imagery basemap available through ArcGIS Online. Download map areas through the Collector app. This can use the World Imagery basemap available through ArcGIS Online, but does have limited size for each map area. I did a test using the World Imagery basemap in my area, and I could make a 16,000 acre area at 1:5000 scale (you'd need to try this for your areas of interest, as the size of the packages isn't an exact mapping to the size of the area and the scale -- I found my map area to be about 9MB). For downloading map areas through Collector, you have two options, too. One is that the app user defines the area to take offline (creating on-demand map areas), and the other is to make preplanned map areas in ArcGIS Online and have your users just download them in the app. It sounds like preplanned map areas are going to be a good choice for you: In ArcGIS Online you'll specify areas and their levels of detail, and then in Collector your mobile workers pick the areas they need and download them. (Since you are using iOS, I've assumed you are using the latest Collector app, as Collector Classic doesn't support preplanned map areas.) You can learn more about creating preplanned offline map areas in Create, edit, and manage map areas in the ArcGIS Online help. You can learn more about making maps for offline use in Collector in Prepare for offline data collection in the Collector help.

Vector tiles are not currently supported in the released app on Android. They are supported in the next generation Collector app which is currently released on iOS and in beta on Android. If you are interested in joining the beta, please join our Collector Early Adopter community so you’ll have the latest information on what you can test as well as provide feedback. Once you’ve joined, visit Getting Started to access the beta release for Android. Thanks!

Hi Allisyn -- You should still be able to open the maps independent of GPS location. I'm guessing it actually has to do with something in the map itself. Are others that use the same map (and are in MO) able to open it successfully? In the app, are you seeing the map load and not show the data you expect, and show that message? If you go to the Layers list (use the overflow menu ... in the upper-right corner and pick Layers) what do you see there? Also, what version of Collector are you using, and what platform (Android, iOS, or Windows) are you working on? Thanks!

Hi Ron -- If you could share your map, or if that can't be shared, more details about how your data is set up, that would help us figure out what is going on. Thanks!

Hi Nate - What version and platform of Collector are you using? Also, which Esri basemap are you using? Your link to the map prompts me to log in, so I'm unable to check which basemap myself.

In "Add offline area" have you tried making the basemap have a really low level of detail so that you can get all the data into the scope of that basemap? Then downloading it would get all your data, and then you could switch to your sideloaded basemap when using the map and have all your data in a single map area.

Update: The app updated in June 2019 to support using a basemap sideloaded to the device during download. You can learn about this here: Prepare for offline data collection—Collector for ArcGIS | ArcGIS in the section "Reference an on-device basemap" Original answer: Hi Marcus - In 19.0.1 you can sideload a basemap and use it after the map is downloaded, but you can't use it as the basemap during download to avoid downloading the basemap the map was authored with (this is covered here). The ability to use it during download is coming to the new Collector in the release on iOS coming soon (this month). As to your point on how you are required to download a basemap today, you don't have to download a huge one. Just download the basemap in the map with the lowest level of detail (like level 0 or 1) so that you get a smaller basemap during download, and replace the downloaded basemap with the sideloaded one when working with the map.
