Hey Vitaly - we are checking with Microsoft right now to see what may be causing the issue. I'll reply back once we have an answer for you.

With the ArcGIS Maps for Power BI visual Esri has delivered great value into Microsoft Power BI. Starting today you can get even more content, capabilities, and value with a Plus subscription. What's included? When you become a Plus subscriber, you'll gain access to: More basemaps (including satellite imagery, topographic, and more for a total of 12 basemaps you can use in the visual). More geocoding. Plus subscribers can geocode 5,000 addresses per map (up from 1,500 for everyone else). Esri's Living Atlas, a browse-able collection of global reference layers. Thousands of global infographics showing demographics and spending patterns. What happens when I share a map with Plus features? A Plus subscription is required to author and view maps with Plus content. If you share a map with Plus content with someone who is not a Plus subscriber, they will not be able to view the map until they also become a Plus subscriber. When authoring a map, keep an eye out for the Plus icon - it will help you know if you're adding content that can only be seen by other Plus subscribers. How do you get it? You'll notice a new icon in your map visual starting today. Click on the 'Sign up' button inside this new icon to go to the Esri site where you can enter your contact and credit card information. After successfully signing up for Plus you will get 60 days free. Your new Plus subscription will be $5/month after the free 60 day period.

We're currently unable to reproduce the failures. We see a slight delay in loading the basemaps you mention but we aren't able to see the reported behavior (complete failure to load). We're still investigating. Are you still experiencing the issue? I'll talk to our contacts at Microsoft to see about getting our visual listed on the dashboard. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Christy - looks like the devs are working on it. It won't be a part of the November release, but it should be a part of the following release assuming no major bugs are found between now and then.

Hey Vitaly - embedded functionality is something that will be enabled for Power BI report authors that have an ArcGIS named user account. ArcGIS named user support is planned for 2018, so look for embedded functionality in the same general time frame.

Hey Vitaly - this is an issue we're aware of but haven't had the bandwidth to address. We're going to be looking at doing a quality / bug fix release in the next release or two and I'm hopeful we'll be able to address it then.

Hi Vitaly - we don't consider those legends; we consider them map configuration tools, and there's currently no way to bring them into non-edit mode. We have heard the request for legends and it's one we are still considering. In Power BI visuals often have limited space and legends tend to take up quite a bit of screen real estate. Given the interactive nature of map visuals in Power BI (which allows users to get info about map locations by interacting with them) and the fact that we haven't settled on a design we're happy with - legends just haven't made it in yet. Thanks for providing your feedback that you'd like to see them.

Hey Christy - where does the information for 'tomorrow's jobs' live? Same question for 'crew start locations'. In the future we plan to enable signing in to ArcGIS and using your private maps and layers as reference layers. If one of those layers you're using lived in ArcGIS, I'm wondering if that would enable you to put both of your layers on one map. One as Power BI business data via the location field well, the other as a reference layer from your ArcGIS organization. Thoughts?

Hi Vitaly - to answer your questions: Yes, our boundary data for Canada is based of the 2011 census. Yes - all of our Canadian boundary data is of the same vintage. We do plan to update to the 2016 boundaries. It's my understanding some of this data is still being released by Statistics Canada. After it's all been released, our data vendor will get us the information in early 2018, we will process it and tentatively plan to release it in 2018.

Hi Vitaly - I haven't heard any updates from Microsoft on this lately, but I will follow up. From our perspective, the visual doesn't really know where it is running. If it is allowed to run, it will run. Microsoft controls where the visual can run, and they will best be able to answer if/when it will be allowed to run in Power BI Report Server.

No, the 10,000 limit will remain. That is more of a technical limit that we implement to make sure we provide a good experience in the visual. Going above that starts to introduce performance issues in some scenarios. We are working on ways to improve performance and allow larger datasets but for now that will remain at 10,000 lat/long.

Hi Vitaly - yes, Plus subscribers will get an increased limit of 5,000 geocoded locations per map (from 1,500 to 5,000). That's a hard limit. The 1M geocodes per month is something we're going to be watching, seeing what usage is like, and going from there. At this point in time you don't have to worry about your map not working because you mysteriously hit the 1M monthly limit - we're not going to hard cap it at this time. But we reserve the right to do so in the future, and if we do we will message that out so you're not surprised by it.
