I calculate the four corner coordinate pairs to create a polygon that I use to set the default location in the geoshape. Then the user needs to clear the polygon and draw their new shape, which is a bit of a nuisance but so far my users have been happy to do this.

I find it strange to be focusing on smart cameras and all sorts of fanciness but basic calculations don't work... Anyhow, in my attempts to create my 70X40 matrix of calculations to overcome the shortcomings of our favorite tool, I'm running into an issue with the indexed repeat (which may just be some faulty syntax here...) I get this error -21- in the field as soon as I enter a value into the repeats: The syntax I am using in the calculation is if((indexed-repeat(${height},${Plot_repeat},2))>(int(${top_from_mean_plot})),1,if((indexed-repeat(${height},${Plot_repeat},2))<(int(${lower_from_mean_plot})),1,0)) I have split out the two if statements and they both behave as expectedly individually when I have them as separate questions, but when combined, they just don't work properly! (By the way, is the error message service for Survey123 broken at present?). I have tried having the calcs within brackets, or outside of brackets and tried with the values 1 and 0 in as '1' and '0' but it doesn't make a difference! Am I missing something obvious?

Hi Philip, Surely that defeats the benefits of having the calculation mode then? The only alternative I can think of is to create fields referencing indexed-repeat values, and for that I will have to have 70 fields referencing the trees, and outside of that, 40 fields referencing the plots, instead of it just being able to calculate within the repeat. Would it not make more sense to have the option (as with the calculation mode) to decide whether to optimize for all the unnecessary additional fields, or for the refresh within a repeat without revisiting the repeat? It's really disappointing that there is such a major limitation with Survey123 in this regard. I can't see how it is better performance wise to have to calculate the index and then evaluation the expression and have a "Sum" which now references 70 fields instead of summing up a single field in a repeat.

Good day, I am trying to run a calculation with uses the calculationMode=always feature. Basically, we are collection measured tree heights and then for each tree inside the repeat, we determine whether it is inside or outside of a specified range (20% above or below the mean). The mean obviously recalculates with each entry that is added. The mean recalculates fine, but the behaviour I am seeing is that the values inside the repeat only recalculate when I read the repeat. So basically, the out of range and within range boolean values only update if I actually go to that repeat and look at it. This would be a huge nuisance and leave a lot of room for error in the assessment. I can email through an example - I am wondering if it might have something to do with surveys published using an old Survey123 template (something I need to investigate further).

Looks like a widespread issue. We suspect the September updates to Survey123 have something to do with this (feedback from our local ESRI support as well).

Lots of people have this issue - I think it must be some disaster relating to the latest upgrade/release of Survey123. I hope that ESRI is working on resolving it as a top priority...

We are encountering similar issues with our surveys. We can still submit data to the survey. The feature service layer is accessible I have tried republishing it and the new survey has the same error I tried removing the external choices and replacing with a select from file as we still have the same issue. Our Integromat reporting stopped working on Friday last week, so I assume this was when it first encountered the error. I cannot access any of the pages relating to this survey (settings etc) I have tried changing owners of the survey and this did not help. We would really appreciate an urgent review of this bug as these are operational surveys that get reported on regularly and we can't extract our reports.

@IsmaelChivite we do have a calculated field but our field workers HATE having to exit the map drawing interface on the app to check the hectares calculation, and then go back in to edit the polygon. Is there no hope for ESRI fixing the regional settings issues for non-US users? It's been years of struggling with these issues.

"You will notice that the map control shows an info bar describing the length and area of the shape digitized. The units in this info bar are set by your device locale. If your locale is set to the United States, imperial units will be used. Otherwise, metric units will be shown." Is there any way to work around this? In the South African regional settings, the decimal point separator keeps causing issues so we have to use the US location. This causes problems with our users who also need to have conflicting regional settings for SAP access, and also forces us to have acres as the unit for measure when we would really prefer square meters (hectares would be ideal).

Hi there We have been testing a app that has required use to create two groups. One for testing purposes, and then one for when we go live with the app. We have about 60 members in the training group, but will have to migrate them all to the "Live Group" soon. Is there any way that you can move members in bulk from one group to another, or do you have to do them individually? I cannot seem to figure it out. Thanks Paul

Hi, We are having similar issues, but only our one larger dataset seems to fail. It is around 400mb, so not exceeding the 1gb limit. Every time we manage to push the file from ArcGIS Enterprise up to ArcGIS online for the first load, but when we want to sync, it fails with the error: "java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer (Write failed)" in the collaboration sync status logs. The ports are open, but when I perform a Tracert to www.esri.com, it succeeds but with a number of requests timedout. Could this be causing the issue? Our smaller files seem to sync fine.
