Hi David, Great feedback on creating projects and how your organization uses groups in ArcGIS Online. With the current ArcGIS sharing mechanism, it is not possible to change how Business Analyst projects/groups are organized. I understand your concerns, because I also like things “neat and tidy”. I will certainly pass your comments and suggestion about better organization controls to others on our team for their review and consideration. We are always working to improve Business Analyst and your valuable feedback is greatly appreciated by the Business Analyst team. Thank you for your helpful comments and ideas; please keep them coming. Best regards, Donna

Hi David, Creating a project in Business Analyst Web, automatically creates a group. Groups are the sharing mechanism of ArcGIS Online that allows all the project content, such as sites, reports, point layers, and other items to be combined. Groups also allows for easy collaboration with other users in an organization on the project and makes them available for use in Story Maps, ArcGIS Online, Collector and other ArcGIS apps. The group is a requirement of the BA project and if deleted will create a corrupted project that will no longer be accessible. Careful consideration should be given before deleting a project. Thank you for using Business Analyst Web, Donna

Hi Kieran, The additional information you provided is very helpful so that I have a better understanding of your second enhancement request. You would like additional text be added to reports to better define the study area. This is a good suggestion and I will pass your request on to our data content team for consideration. Thanks again, Donna

Hi Kieran, It’s always nice to hear from you. Your first enhancement request seems straightforward that you would like the ability to create a four-ring study area. Currently up to three rings can be created, and you would like to be able to create up to four rings in a single study area. Is that correct? I may need a bit more information to clearly understand your second enhancement requests. Are you creating a study area using the “Bands” option to calculate the difference in areas for the rings used in the reports. If so, is the summary data in the report not what you expected? Is that the issue? Which Esri reports are you using to customize the summary data, because the data is displayed differently on different reports? For example, the “Market Profile” and the “Demographic and Income Comparison Profile” reports display the Population Summary in a side-by-side comparison for all three bands, i.e. Ring Band: 0-1-mile radius, 1–3 mile radius, and 3–5 mile radius; while the “Demographic and Income Profile” and many other reports display the ring band: 0-1-mile radius, 1–3 mile radius, and 3–5 mile radius on individual pages. Please provide any additional information that will help me better understand your request. As always, we greatly appreciate your valuable feedback. Thank you, Donna

Hi David, Thanks for the great feedback on how you use custom variables. Each custom variable is an independent expression created from standard variables and variables from My Data. You can use a custom variable to build another custom variable; however, once you add a custom variable to a report it becomes a separate script and is considered a one-way action without back reference to the original source. While your specific request is not in our current product plans, we are always working to improve Community Analyst and we greatly appreciate you letting us know your use case. Understanding how you use custom variables in reports helps us improve the feature. Thanks again for your valuable comments, Community Analyst Team

Hi Aaron, The full street address of the business location is displayed on the map in the site menu and can be viewed in the Business and Facilities Search results full table view. However, Esri's agreement with the business data provider does not permit exporting the street number address. We are interested in your request for the full street address and I will let the data content team know about this request. Thank you, Donna

Hi Aaron, The Business Locator report lists businesses based on their proximity to the study area location. The maximum number of businesses displayed on one report is 250 for all business types whose location fails within the area of study. The report is a predefined Esri template that cannot be customized to filter by a specific business type, or by NAICS or SIC code. You might want to try the Business Search feature where the businesses can be refined to a specific business type and filtered by keywords, NAICS or SIC Code for up to 5,000 records. The business search results can be refined and filtered to a specific study area on the map and can be exported to Excel for further analysis. The exported business data includes the Business name, NAICS and SIC codes, number of employees, sales volume and address without the street number. We are always looking to improve the features and reports in Business Analyst and understanding your specific use case helps us improve the application. Based on your question, are you needing a void analysis report? We are evaluating customer interest for this type report and would very much like to know if a void analysis report would be of value to you. Thank you for your valuable feedback, and we look forward to hearing from you again. Donna Buhr Product Engineer Business Analyst Team

Hi Colin, There is a known issue that Infographics exported to PDF will not open on the iPad. We are working to determine the best way to handle viewing the Infographic PDF on the iPad and it would be extremely helpful if you can explain your specific use case. What would you like to do with the PDF, open the PDF is a new Browser tab, email the PDF or some other use case? Thank you for helping us understand how you would like to use Infographic PDFs on the iPad. Best Regards, Donna Buhr Business Analyst Product Engineer

Community Analyst only supports simple polygon and point shapefiles. If you have a multi-part polygon, you will need to simplify it to a normal polygon with only X,Y coordinates, and it should work. Shapefiles can be imported with a maximum of 100 records and a file site limit of 3MB and they must be a single zipped file containing .shp and .prj files. The legend does not currently support customization. We are planning enhancements for the legend and your feedback is very helpful. In the mean time, you might try using screenshot software to create a composite image.

The Business Locator report can only be run for point-based sites, such as drive-time or ring study sites. The report is not available for shapefiles or polygons. I realize it is not a list of the actual businesses, but you can run a Business Summary Report based on a polygon. The Business Summary report will determine the number of businesses and number of employees per industry group in a study area and compare its daytime population to its residential population. You might also try the Infogroup Business Search and use the Search within your Study Area option for businesses that are located within your study area.

Sue, you might find the Community Health Status Indicators (CHSI) Birth Measures data a good source; although, it is only at the State and County geography level. You can color-code the map at the county level, or use the data in the Smart Map Search feature.

For best fit, the size of the logo image should be 450 x 200 or less. To correct the overlapping issue, you might choose the ??Shrink to fit? option when uploading your custom logo. Yes, there is a plan to update all reports to the new style, so you should be able to use one size logo for all reports. Thanks, Donna Product Engineer
