Are you currently using ArcMap? Just curious why the workflow wouldn't be to import the mdb contents into gdb in ArcMap/ArcCatalog. Then use the gdb in Pro?

Thanks for submitting the idea, smolivert. Two quick things: 1. Could you please change the idea's title to something more descriptive; e.g. "Add an Apply button to ArcGIS Pro Map Properties"... something like that? 2. How do you typically use that in ArcMap? Are you generally changing the map's projection, apply, see how it looks, repeat? What types of changes are you making to the map properties where you find it is useful to change, apply, adjust, apply, etc.? Thank you!

Point feature class in a file geodatabase? I agree with Dan on the display cache as something you should look at. There are controls at the layer level: As well as at the project level: If that doesn't work, this issue would be a good candidate for technical support. https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support

Hi Chris, Thanks for the feedback. Starting with the easy question, is there a way to turn off the hover tips on Catalog View/Pane? Yes, from Catalog Pane, turn those off from the burger: If you're in Catalog View, turn them off from the Options group in the ribbon: Can we get a bit more detail on this: In Catalog you scroll up & down to see all the key info. In Pro you have to scroll, click to select a category, then scroll some more. That sums up a lot of Pro experiences: A prettier interface forces a user to click & scroll a lot more than in ArcMap/Catalog. When you say that you scroll up and down to see all the key info, where in the Properties dialog are you talking about? Here I'm on the XY Coordinate System tab: I can scroll through different coordinate systems, but need to click on different tabs to get other Feature Class Properties. In the current release of Pro, we aren't exposing some of those properties (like spatial reference) from Catalog, only from the layer. ArcGIS Pro: Include/Add Extent and Spatial Reference to Feature Class Source Tab will be in Pro 2.2, so let's use that as a closer comparison to ArcCatalog. When I open the Feature Class Properties, you are correct that I will have to expand something like Extent or Spatial Reference if I want to see those properties. But from a "number of clicks" standpoint, I'm not sure how that is different than having to click on a tab in the ArcCatalog UI: Can you help me understand specifically where in the UI the problem is in Pro vs. ArcCatalog? Your input is valuable, I just need to make sure that I get what you're talking about so that we can work with the feedback. Thank you!

zakbaron Thank you for this. It would still be important to know the version of the SQL server database. This starts to get at what tpcolson pointed out - while we are VERY interested in digging into performance issues, trying to do that on GeoNet isn't usually very effective. The best thing to do will be to open a case with technical support so that they can specifically troubleshoot with you. Thanks!

Yup. It's installed for 2.2 so look for that in the upcoming summer release.

Thank you for the input, Zachary Baron What version of ArcGIS Pro are you running? For the enterprise geodatabase performance issue, what RDBMS and version? For the query issue, have you clicked SQL to write your expression directly? Does that work?

So you'll have the project saved in a network location where multiple users can access it. User 1 opens the project. That user has full control and can edit and save, etc. with the project. Users 2 to n open the project and it is Read Only for them: So the answer is no, but I wanted to kind of show you what the users will see

Thanks for the input here, Grant Dickins Is there an equivalent to catalog coming that is integrated with Pro? Are you using the Catalog View in ArcGIS Pro? There is still a list of stuff that the development team is working on to continue improving the data management experience in ArcGIS Pro. Since you're asking about an integrated "equivalent catalog", much of that work is currently in the Catalog View. There will be more improvements coming in the 2.2 release this summer and with each subsequent release. What kinds of things are you finding are not in Pro that keep you going back to ArcCatalog? For point number 1 in the description, look for the ability to https://community.esri.com/ideas/13083 in ArcGIS Pro 2.2 in a couple of months. I think that will take care of the issue. For point number 2, we really should be directing attention to https://community.esri.com/ideas/13897

Hi James, I ran across this thread and my first thought was "this would probably best be handled by opening a case with technical support." I checked, and it looks like you've done exactly that! Please circle back to this thread to close the loop with what you find after troubleshooting the issue with support. Thank you!

I wanted to close the loop on this thread. If a font is not being embedded in a PDF, it could be due to a licensing restriction on that font. That is the case in both ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. This is noted in the help here: From Export a map or layout—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Check Embed Fonts to include embeddable fonts in your exported document. Note that fonts with licensing that does not allow embedding will not be included in your export regardless of this setting. After further troubleshooting on this specific question, we found that what is actually missing is the Convert Marker Symbols to Polygons setting. This is available in ArcMap and not in ArcGIS Pro. There is an idea located at https://community.esri.com/ideas/14215 where you can upvote and provide comments. Thank you.

There isn't a hard and fast rule on when we see the status change. I agree that in calendar terms it of course isn't new, and on this particular issue I can say that it is being actively investigated. There are a few different statuses that a development team can assign to a bug and while it is being looked at and considered, the team might not be ready to commit to "In Product Plan" but they also might not want to mark it as "Not In Current Product Plan"... again, I'll check in with that team to see if they can provide an honest assessment on the status.
