sweaver_ca Joe Borgione et al. on this thread.  I wanted to follow up to make sure the community is clear on the roadmap for linear referencing.  While we have the geoprocessing tools in Pro, we currently do not have the equivalent commands from the ArcMap toolbar.  Pipeline Referencing is a new extension for ArcGIS Pro and since that is currently available to customers, there is an Identify Route tool associated with that extension.   There is work to be done on the development side of things to bring linear referencing capabilities to Pro that are equivalent to (and better when possible) ArcMap.  The work just hasn't been done yet.  So Joe, I don't want this thread to be ended with the misperception that doing your linear referencing work in Pro will now cost you something.  It won't.  The plan is to provide functionality in Pro that will allow you to complete the linear referencing work that you currently do in ArcMap.  We just aren't there yet.  Thanks for the patience as this is built out in Pro. ... Hi Karen, I picked up on this thread and checked in with our development team in hopes that we can bring some clarity. In terms of the licensing, as pointed out in the above comments, the geoprocessing tools are licensed the same in ArcMap as ArcGIS Pro.  Meaning that the question becomes, when will all of the Spatial Adjustment editing commands be available in ArcGIS Pro? At Pro 1.0, we added the Transform tool that supports similarity (2D/3D) and affine transformation methods and support for importing ArcMap link files. For the near term, we are planning on adding rubbersheeting capabilities (most likely as it’s own tool) and the Attribute Transfer tool. Near-term means in the next couple of releases so given that the development work for Pro 2.2 is nearly complete, these capabilities will likely be coming for either 2.3 or 2.4. Edge matching would be the final tool that would round out the Spatial Adjustment toolbar and that is slated to come after rubbersheeting and attribute transfer.   I'm sure this comment will come to you as good news and bad news.  The good news is that licensing requirements haven't changed between ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, and more good news is that the capabilities of the ArcMap Spatial Adjustment toolbar will be coming to ArcGIS Pro.  They just aren't in there yet (that's the bad news). Well if you have many records for individual zip code points, how do you want to "map those out"?  Just using points won't show anything because those points will be stacked on top of each other - i.e. there may be 10 points, but you only see one.  So essentially what you'll want to do is get a count of how many points there are per zip code polygon ( Spatial Join—Help | ArcGIS Desktop ) and then symbolize the polygons based on the count. ... Hi Elle Holbrook‌.  When you say that the trial takes you to an ArcMap download, what link is that?  The trial page is Free Trial of ArcGIS   You should be able to use that to start a trial, which would give you your own ArcGIS Online organization account and some credits to use for geocoding, but since you're at a university, you shouldn't have to do that.  Please contact the person at your university who provides you with the software download and license code.  That person should know how to add you as a member of an ArcGIS Online account.  To batch geocode, you will need to be a member of an ArcGIS Online organization and have credits allocated to you.  See Working with the ArcGIS Online World Geocoding Service—Help | ArcGIS Desktop  for more info. In your specific use case of geocoding to zip code only, you could go get zip code point or polygon data and join your table to the feature class table based on the zip code field.  If this results in a 1:M join and you're working in a file geodatabase, you won't actually see every record, but if you export to shapefile, they'll all be there.  This has to do with the different ways that file gdb and shapefile manage the data and is explained more here: About joining and relating tables—Help | ArcGIS Desktop in the One-to-many section.  Note that if you were to do the same thing in ArcGIS Pro, the table will display all records, duplicating the OID.  So there is an option to move forward with your analysis even without geocoding. Thomas Colson‌ I spoke with the product engineer about this and what you're experiencing is not expected behavior.  There has been no implementation from the development side of things that would allow a user to double-click an .aptx file and launch a create project from template experience.  The closest we should be able to get is to associate .aptx files with ArcGIS Pro, and that will essentially just open Pro, but again, currently there is nothing implemented that would launch a project creation workflow from here. Because of that, we have logged [ENH-000113465: Allow a user to create a new project from a template by double-clicking an .aptx file from Windows File Explorer.] That enhancement will now be reviewed by the dev team.  Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for the clarification, Chris.  It looks like in Pro there was a 'Find data source properties' search box added.  This is probably because of the amount of scrolling that needs to be done to get to raster properties. So if I'm looking for the coordinate system, I start to search for that and it takes me to the raster's Spatial Reference information: But yes, I'll admit that you have to click again to expand the Spatial Reference info. In playing with this, it looks like there could be some improvements made to the search capabilities, so I'll make sure that team is aware of that opportunity. Hi Grant, Thank you for describing your work.  For your question  But how do I see, for example, a feature class’s attribute table? That currently isn't possible.  We are tracking https://community.esri.com/ideas/13338‌ and you can see that it is In Product Plan.  It won't be in 2.2 but we're hoping to get that functionality into Pro's Catalog View soon.   It sounds like it isn't necessarily the "lack of Catalog" in Pro that is the issue, rather certain specific functionalities. Those specific functionalities are what we need to know about, though our development team still has a list of things they're working on, so we'll continue to see Pro's data management capabilities get rounded out over the coming releases.   The ability to have an instance of Pro open with Catalog View and a second instance of Pro open with a project you're working on, exists today.  That would replicate the workflow of having ArcCatalog open on one monitor and ArcMap open on another.  You wouldn't even necessarily have to do that, as you could open Catalog View in a project, move that view to one monitor, and be working in a map in the same project.  There are options. So in a nutshell, we have a list of data management functionality that we're working on.  But if you have things you can think of that are missing for you to complete your specific workflows, let us know and we'll make sure those are already on our list.  Cheers, Kory ...
