Hmm, yes, unfortunately that is what I was thinking by "data manipulation to parse out the numbers" - that they'd have to be split out into their own fields in order to use my example above. Just some other crazy thoughts, but might still require more work than you'd like... Create a "library" of the chemical formula images and enable attachments on the feature class.  For each record that has a specific chemical formula, attach the image of the formula.  Then in pop-ups you would get something like this: Something similar could actually be done for labeling, again, would depend on having that library of formula images.  Those could be added to a style and then used in labeling.  I haven't taken (don't have) any time to experiment with resolution, etc. but you could end up with something like this: Again, would have to experiment with resolution and scaling depending on what you need in a final product.  This would also require having a separate label class for each formula which would also entail a lot of set up work.  So between these two hare-brained ideas, I would personally choose to enable attachments and use popups.  That obviously won't work for a printed paper map though. Looks like others have tried and can't reproduce.  I tried with some data at hand and can't reproduce (if I've understood the steps correctly). Kate Newell‌ if you do the same steps with different data do you see the same issue?  You said that the parcel feature class and standalone table are in the same file gdb.  Can you make a copy of the parcel features, place in the same file gdb and re-test?  Same issue?   Have you re-calculated the spatial index on the features? Is the map using the same coordinate system as the data? This could be a good candidate for a tech support case, but if you zip up the gdb with just the FC and table, and include a simple txt file with steps to reproduce we'll take a look. Cheers ... Can you clarify if you're talking about broken folder connections or broken layers? In ArcMap when a folder connection is broken, I get this, and there is no way to repair it: In Pro, currently I get the familiar red exclamation point, but also can't repair the source. In Pro 2.3, we'll be able to click the red exclamation point and repair this. For what sounds like the main use case of adding a Draft or watermark, this is done by setting transparency on the text color. There is a built-in Watermark text symbol that uses 25% transparency. But you can set the level of transparency by using the dropdown next to Color > Color Properties... It doesn't look like transparency can be set on a picture added though... ... View more

You should be able to control superscript and subscript in labels through formatting tags: Formatting tags available in ArcMap—Help | ArcGIS Desktop  Here is a quick example in ArcGIS Pro (don't ask why I'm using county name to the power of state fips code! [but if you do ask, it's the data I had at hand]) Now I'm trying to picture what data you might have and how it is structured in your attribute table.  You say chemical formulas, so you might have something like KMnO 4 But the table is storing this as KMnO4, correct? Yes, I can open a new layout and type in Word while the layout is loading. I get the same behavior as described above where the Pro icon blinks orange to let me know that it completed something, but it doesn't interrupt what I'm doing in Word. Don't know if this makes any difference but I'm on Windows 10.  You? ... View more

I don't see this.  I tried saving and exporting, and then working in Word while Pro was working.  When Pro finished, the icon in the taskbar just turned orange but didn't interrupt the work I was doing. ... View more

I checked what I wrote and I didn't ask   But... There are a number of factors that are considered when determining what makes it into a patch vs. the normal release cycle. *Important note - this is my explanation, not a formal Esri checklist* 1. Do we have a fix for the issue yet?  If we don't have the issue fixed at the time when the patch is handed off to the release team for their testing, well... that thing won't go into the patch.  So timing is important. 2. If there is a fix, is the fix able to be applied in a patch?   3. What is the severity of the thing?  Things like data corruption and crashes get higher consideration for inclusion in a patch.    3a. Is there a reasonable workaround? 4. What is the risk of the fix? That said, I'll look into the specific bugs that you mention and pass those up the chain to be assessed for whether they could get into a 2.2.2 if there is a second patch. I hope this helps. ...
