@JodyZhengLiu did this get fixed? I'm using Connect 3.14 and still seeing my select multiple "other" answers populated with commas in between words instead of spaces.

Thanks Zach! I was able to use a workaround to get the signature to show up... instead of using the field name ${signature}, I was able to use ${#$attachment} instead. This works because I only have one attachment (the signature) that I need to show in my report, but if I had multiple attachments this would still be an issue. I found another geonet post with the exact same problem, so I don't think it's just me!: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/integrate-image-attachement-in-arcgis-survey123-report-error-10/m-p/1030772#M32771

I played around a lot with this using both 'null' and '' as suggested by Doug. The thing that finally worked: 1. Delete the validaddress field altogether - for some reason this seems to have been throwing it off 2. Set the constraint on matchaddress to be ${matchaddress}!='null' (also removed previous expression in the relevant column). I tried a constraint for ${matchaddress}!='', but the geocoder is indeed returning 'null'.

Yep I've tried required on a variety of the fields to try and get it to not allow submission but I haven't found a solution where it works properly. As for nulls... I'm not sure if the matchaddress question is coming up blank or truly "null" because it's reaching out to a geocoder, matching an address, and returning the matched address. If it doesn't find an address, I'm not sure what it comes back with. I assumed the matched address field was coming back as null when no address was found, because the relevant column ${matchaddress} = 'null' works as I expect it to. I'll try playing around with '' - thanks!

Hi - I've built a survey in Connect (3.12) and I'm having trouble with one part of it. My end goal is to have the survey PREVENT submission if a geocoded address field (${matchaddress} is null. Seems easy right? I thought I could create a select_one yes/no ${validaddress} field, calculate it to be 'no' if ${matchaddress} is null and 'yes' if ${matchaddress} is not null, and put a constraint on this field so that it will not let the user submit a record if ${validaddress} = 'no', but it doesn't work. It lets me submit a record even if the matched address is null and validaddress is no. I've also tried various iterations of this using ${matchaddress} = null, since it should have the same result. No dice. What's weird is that if I put ${matchaddress} = 'null' in the relevant column, the ${validaddress} field either shows or doesn't show exactly as it should. So why isn't the constraint working the same way? I've worked on this for days and days and I feel crazy and I'm really hoping someone on the Survey123 team can briefly work with me and take a look. I'd prefer to email my XLS rather than share here. Thank you!

I'm having this EXACT same problem. The only difference is my data is in SQL Server and I published the feature service with Pro 2.7. I see the attachments in the records in the Survey123 website, but the report is blank where the signature should be. @IsmaelChivite do you know what's going on?

Hi @ZacharySutherby I'm revisiting this survey because I need to change it to be pointing to an existing feature service that lives in my enterprise geodatabase. I got it set up perfectly, but now during testing I'm back to the signature not showing up in the report!! Referencing the bug we logged, it looks like all of the options are grayed out for me to choose what permissions an anonymous user has because this is a nonhosted dataset. Any work around? I really really need to be able to use a nonhosted dataset because I have attribute rules that get calculated on the feature class upon survey submittal. Thanks! Shelby EDIT after posting: I did some googling and feel like it might be related to this issue? https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000024606 Except I'm running 10.8.1, which supposedly support attachment keywords, so why am I having the issue?

UPDATE: I had a slight issue with my JSON... make sure you have square brackets around the whole thing! This is what worked: [ { "attributes":{ "OBJECTID": {{1.feature.result.objectId}}, "district": {{18.features[].attributes.DIST}} } } ]

@IsmaelChivitethank you! I spent some time putting this all together using your suggestion and I think I am SO CLOSE but I keep getting an error in my 2nd HTML request (after the Parse JSON module). I've attached a screenshot of my Parse JSON module (results look great - I am looking for the DIST field to equal 1 for this test point), my 2nd HTTP request inputs, and the results of the 2nd HTTP request with the "unable to complete operation" error message. I read through your blogs and watched the video many many times and I really thought I had it all correct, so I'm not sure why I am getting this error. If you have any ideas that would be wonderful.

I've created a public survey in Survey123 (Enterprise/Portal version) in which a user can input an address via geopoint and then submit the survey. There is a hidden field in the survey called District. Upon survey submittal, I have an attribute rule set up via ArcGISPro that immediately calculates the District that the address falls within and edits the District field in the feature class with this correct district value. (The survey data is based on a feature class in a SQL EGDB that is registered with my Portal so that's how I'm able to do this). In Integromat, I want to be able to watch for the survey submittal and then create a report. This seemed easy....but my problem is I need the calculated District field value to show up in the report. The only options I seem to have to populate the report are from the "Watch Survey" module, which has a null District field because it's null immediately upon submittal, even though the feature class gets populated via attribute rule very shortly after. I tried a bunch of workarounds (sleep tool for 30 secs after watch survey, watch for Edit instead of Add) but the problem I'm running into is that I need to be able to choose the District field from the survey feature class after it is edited, and not the immediate survey input values that are available in the "watch survey" module. Help?! I feel like I'm so close but so far. *NOTE* I originally was doing this with custom javascript in my survey, which worked great because the District field populated BEFORE survey submittal. Unfortunately this survey has to be public so I can't use that method. 😞

@ZacharySutherby update to my last post: I think it maybe does have something to do with the beta geocode appearance I'm using? For the geocode, I have the user enter an address (NOT on a map, but just by typing, according to instructions provided to me by @IsmaelChivite on this post: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/set-default-geosearch-parameters/m-p/1022963#M32260 ). In the web form, a matching address populates another field that corresponds to the selected address. This functionality is known to not work in Connect or the App, but it works perfectly in the web form. It seems I'm having the opposite problem with this District ID field. The District populates correctly in Connect and the App, but not in the web form (where I really need it!). Any ideas of how to fix it so it works in the web form? Thanks again! EDIT: my survey is public - I guess that’s why it isn’t working? Is there any workaround for this? The functionality is exactly what I’m looking for!

Hi Zach - Thanks! So, I got the first part working in Survey123 Connect. I'm having the survey pull data from our districts layer and populate a District ID field based on the geopoint. It works fine when I test it in Connect, but when I publish it and access it via a web form, the District ID does not populate in my survey. Any thoughts? I'm using the new beta geocode appearance for the geopoint, if that matters. As for the email... I think I found a way to do what I need in Integromat, but I'll need this District ID field to work before I can test it completely. Shelby

I'm trying to do something in Survey123 (Enterprise/Portal) that I don't know if possible. Context: I have a form built that the public can fill out. On the backend (via Integromat), upon submittal a PDF report of the survey gets emailed to the submitting user and CC'd to an internal email address. Question: The survey has a geopoint field. Can I take this data and use another feature service to essentially do a spatial join/point-in-polygon and calculate a new field in the survey with attribute information based on the external feature class? Basically - I want the form to autopopulate a District field based on the geopoint location. The District boundaries are in a separate feature class in my Portal. I intend to then filter the survey results in Integromat and only email each district's surveys to each district's POC. Thanks!!

Oh wait nevermind - just played around with it. I see what you mean, I can still build out the fields in Connect I just can't preview how it will look in the web app. This is great! We only need to use the web app for collecting data so this should work perfectly. Thank you!
