Hi Brittaney, thanks for sharing your solution. Yes it is trickier for those older story maps, I guess the reason is their data structures are different from the latest ones.

I did a quick test on my portal, reproduced the error you are experiencing. It seems caused by the bug @DanPatterson mentioned above We can only hope ESRI can get it fixed very soon. In the meantime, except the "Alternative Solutions" mentioned by ESRI, another workaround is to Share the item to Everyone if it is an option.

Do you have access to that layer? More details (code) will be helpful to pin-point the issue.

If item mapping does not work for your cloned story map, then try to use AGOL Assistant to replace it manually. If you want a non-interactive scripting experience, you can use get_data() of the item to get the JSON or text of the item and change them programmatically, then use update() function of the item to save the change. I encounter the same issue when I was cloning an very old story map to another portal, I ended up using this semi-automatic approach

I found forcefully upgrading the ArcGIS Pro Python env using no-pin option is error-prone, and I had the same issue after I upgraded my ArcGIS Pro 2.6.1 python env. So I would suggest to create a new python env in anaconda and install the latest ArcGIS Python API if you can't wait for ArcGIS Pro to upgrade its python env to the latest

I've upgraded my environment to the latest ArcGIS API for Python 1.8.3, it seems working fine. Easiest way is to use the python environment of ArcGIS Pro 2.7, which comes with ArcGIS API for Python 1.8.3 and ArcPy.

As Stated in the help document Calvin mentioned: "Non-Interactive Login Experience The recommended suggestion for non-interactive login scripts is to use the built-in identity provider instead of SAML." Our portal is using SAML for internal staff, but we can create built-in users when needed. With the built-in named user you can login by username and password. Hope this information useful

Totally agree --- "The other benefit with having Collector on Windows 10 is that I can install the application onto my work computer and, if needed, make changes to the edits that our crews make out in the field without having to open another application." Plus there's another possible workflow: I was asked by my users (disaster response and recovery) a couple of days ago, how to input the assessment data (possibly collected by flying over the impacted area, I don't know the details) back in the office. In this case I would recommend them to use ArcGIS Collector (classic) for Windows. but I am not sure if it will be still available after this year, as ESRI will remote it from Apple App Store and Google Play by the end of 2020. Nothing said about ArcGIS Collector (classic) for Windows beyond 2020, will it be removed from Microsoft app store as well? if yes, there will be a gap on the platform coverage, and this gap will be more obvious when Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface-like devices are getting more tractions in the mobile computing market. if not, I am afraid there will be inconsistent user experience across platforms, because the new ArcGIS Collector is different from the Collector Classic. I understand Windows may not be the first or second popular platform for ArcGIS collector, but it could be an integral part of the overall solution, for example, in my case I actually use ArcGIS Collector on all platforms: First responders use iOS /Android, back in office and in the relief centers people use Windows 10.

In ArcGIS Python API 1.8.1, it allows you to make an asynchronous call of delete_features function by setting the future parameter to True. The API document is here: arcgis.features module — arcgis 1.8.2 documentation Returns: Dict if future=False (default), else a concurrent.Future class. I'd like to check the Future.result() to see if the operation has completed or failed. (there are nearly 1 million records...) : my understanding is it should only return when it is completed or it is failed, but actually it returns the following dictionary: {'submissionTime': 1604031554270, 'lastUpdatedTime': 1604031554270, 'status': 'Pending'} So, what's the use of returning a Future object which seems returned immediately and never gets updated? is there an example to show how I am supposed to use this return? I'll ask the same question for calculate function . Am I alone in this?

I am trying to publish a SEDF to ArcGIS Portal. In the Jupyter notebook, it indicates it succeeded after I run my_sedf.spatial.to_featurelayer("new layer name") but when I go to portal to inspect the published service, there's an error despite the service seems working OK. I have to overwrite the web layer from ArcGIS Pro to get rid of this error. Is there a tiny bug in the API?
