Yes Karen, I found a work around. The Edit widget in the Web Appbuilder is able to merge multiple polygons into one, so you'll get a multipart polygon. the steps are: 1.Publish a polygon feature service in AGOL/ Portal 2.Build a Web map including the polygon layer in the feature service created in step 1; And define the feature template also. 3.Create a web app in Web appbuilder and choose the Web map built in previous step 4. Choose the Edit widget, enable the Merge function in the Edit widget by checking the box right to the Merge text. 5. Save and Launch the Web app and start adding polygons in the app. 6.After adding multiple polygons, use the Selection tool and select the polygons 7.Click the Union tool and you get the multipart polygon. Hope it works for you. Cheers, Simo

Is there anyone experiencing the issue of intermittently missing timestamps for the created_date and last_edited_date in the related tables in the latest Collector for ArcGIS on iPad? (version 10.4.0) Editor tracking is enabled for the related table. Edit in offline mode and then upload the changes to AGOL. Latest iPad version. The issue happens only when you download a new area to edit the data, in another word, in the same downloaded map it is consistent, with or without the timestamp, no mixed results in one downloaded map. So is it something to do with the data integrity of the downloaded map? Really puzzled.

Hi Dan, ESRI local distributor got back to me and said there were no tools in AGOL to create multipart features. Thanks, Simo

I can't find any tools in the Web map toolbar or in the Web appbuilder widgets. I can add multipart polygon in ArcMap for the feature class, that's not a problem. In order to let the users add multipart polygons themselves, I published the feature class as a hosted service, built a webmap and then shared the map using a web application template. but there's no tool to allow the user to add multiple parts for a polygon feature. So I guess AGOL does not support multipart polygon editing, please correct me if I am wrong... Thanks. Simo Xu

Thanks Jayanta, I should give more context: I actually want to share a scene package with someone who has ArcGIS pro installed. he can't view the SPK directly, neither can he extract the original data from the package so that he can view it in that way... because the package can be created in ArcGIS Pro, so I thought Pro should be able to recognize the format and open it. ESRI doesn't make it very clear for the Scene Package. but for Package in general, in its online help it says: "A package is a compressed file containing GIS data. ..... The recipient of your package unpacks it and can immediately begin using its contents. Packages can also be used to archive your work." So no matter how we share it, by email or ArcGIS Online/ Portal, or even copying to a colleague's USB, they should be able to open it to view it. if they want original data, they should be able to extract the original data. Sharing a SPK in ArcGIS online/portal is fine, and theoretically people can view it in the web scene viewer. but SPKs are potentially big, not ideal for everyone to view through internet (Intranet should be OK). I guess most people will download the package and open it in their own desktop applications. Finally, I can open the package in ArcGIS Earth, which I don't really need for other cases!

Thanks Dan, I have no problems to share it in AGOL, but when other people download it, they can't open it in ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro. they can only view it in ArcGIS Earth, this is a bit odd to me.

Anyone knows how to extract the Scene Layer Package (.spk)? I shared a layer containing multipatch features as spk, but I can't open it in ArcGIS Pro or ArcScene. and the Extract Package tool does not handle spk. Thanks.

If you only want to download the data, and have no intention to sync it back later, you can try to ignore syncModel and attachmentsSyncDirection, because by default they have values of "none"

Hi Andre, something like the following will do the trick. JSON is javascript, and the value for layerDefinition is a Javascript object. To answer your last question, I am pretty sure you can query a date range. all you need to do is find out the MS SQL Server syntax for it. Something like "Date >= '2015/12/01' and Date <= '2015/12/08'" should work { "layers": [ { "0": { "id": 0, "layerDefinition": { "definitionExpression": "CreationDate >=DATEADD(day,-1,convert(date,GETDATE()))" "drawingInfo": { "renderer": { } } } } },

Hi Andy, I am just curious about your statement "It also gives us a way of viewing attachments of related 'tables' which is quite handy!" How do you view the attachments (say photos) of relate tables? Thanks, Simo

My relate tables are attachment enabled, I collected some photos with the records in the relate tables, and now I find I can't view them in web map viewer or applications built through Webapp builder. yeah, I can view the photos in collector and Arcmap, but viewing the attachment from a web map app is ideal for my situation. attachments are basically another tier of relate tables. Does anyone have a solution/idea? Miaogeng Zhang Mike Minami

what I need is not the copy of the data, which is quite easy to achieve. I need two services pointing to the same data source. the context is AGOL, it won't be a problem for Portal with your own ArcGIS server and SDE.
