Hi Craig, Thanks for the questions on this. Just to be clear Optimized Routes and Shared Routes are two different but related concepts. An Optimized Route is really just a multi-stop route which has been optimized such that the ordering of the stops in the route are sequenced in the optimal order. At the 2.0 release of Navigator (which will be released in the coming weeks) there is an option to generate route optimized in this manner. This is a new feature at the 2.0 release of Navigator. Shared Routes is a broader concept that one will be able to use many of the great tools we have on the ArcGIS Platform for creating routes and sharing these routes with drivers in the field who are using the Navigator App. This is still being designed and probably won't be available until later in the year. The "Save" button in the Directions Widget which is part of the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer is merely a way for users who are already using this functionality to save the result of directions generated by the directions widget. Currently Navigator has no way of consuming these saved directions. Moving forward there will be one unified experience to generate, save and share routes in the platform with Navigator being the logical app to consume these routes in the field. The Umbrella term we are using for this, at the moment, is "Shared Routes". Hope this helps clear things up and thanks again for the feedback. -Brent

That's great Matthew, are you currently using Navigator on just Android or also on the iOS platform?

Matthew, With the upcoming 0.2.0 release of Navigator on Android you will be able to use the URL scheme to send destinations to Navigator on the device. This release should be coming in the next couple of weeks and we will have updated and more detailed documentation explaining how developers can make use of this technology. If I were you I would wait, I will post to the forum as soon as there is something to test with.

Matthew, Thanks for the Questions. There are two ways to add stops in Navigator. You can add stop through the app by tapping on the "+" button when there is a route on the screen or by editing an existing route. An alternate way to create a multi-stop route is to use the URL Scheme mentioned above. The documentation on this lives here: Create an app link—Navigate | ArcGIS The general purpose of the URL scheme is for other apps to be able to launch and deep link into Navigator. Workforce and Collector already make use of this technology but you can also embed it in your apps. One thing to note is that with the 0.2.0 release of Navigator on Android (coming in a couple weeks) this scheme will change slightly to support addresses.

Paul is correct, ArcGIS for iOS (AKA The Green App) is no longer in active development. I would strongly encourage you to move over to Explorer for ArcGIS which will have all the feature functions of the Green App and a more modern approach to the UX/UI. Explorer is under active development and will be supporting offline map use in the next release. Collector is a mobile application focused on field data collection and is really targeted at those who need to collect and update their GIS data in the field. Hope this helps and happy holidays, -Brent

Matt, In Workforce you will be able to easily jump out to Collector if you have it installed on the device. This might not be in the initial Beta releases but certainly in our first Non-beta release we will have logical integration points setup Between Workforce and a number of our apps (Collector, Navigator, Survey123 etc...). We are still trying to get the story ironed out but we are thinking that when you setup a project you will be able to configure specific assignments to link to specific Webmaps which can be edited in Collector. This would provide a very streamlined experience for your field workers allowing them to go straight to collector for editing and back to Workforce. This story should get more fleshed out as the beta release evolves and be fully implemented for our first release after beta.

Keisuke, We certainly plan to release Explorer with offline mapping capabilities in a future release. It's a little too early for specific dates, but most likely early 2016 as we are working on building on and enhancing the current implementation in Collector today. Hope this helps, -Brent

Tom/Brad, This feedback is really helpful and very much inline with the editing workflows we are targeting in Explorer. Thanks for your comments on this they really do help. We are looking forward to getting this functionality in a future release of Explorer. -Brent

Hi Tom, This is a great question, We are currently in the early stages of designing the editing experience on Explorer. The challenging aspect of this specific design is knowing where to draw the line with regard to when would one want to just use Collector, our premier native editing app, to complete their editing and field data collection workflows as opposed to completing the work in Explorer. I will start with that, why are you not using Collector for field editing and when included with Explorer, what level of editing would you expect to have available to you?

Tom, Great question. We have been testing with iOS8 internally throughout the iOS8 beta release cycle. Things are looking really good and Explorer will work on this platform. Since iOS8 is still not officially released we can not certify on that platform or build the app with the new version of XCode. With that being said, we will be adopting iOS8 as soon as it is officially released (Sept 17th I believe). You can expect a release shortly after iOS8 goes live where we officially certify and build on iOS8 but if you want to start using iOS8 sooner with the existing version of Explorer we do not expect any major headaches or stability issues. Hope this helps, -Brent PS did you see the Apple product launch/presentation on Tuesday ... exciting times ahead.

Tom, When there is a URL associated with the image in the popup configuration in the webmap we were opening that image URL in our own web view in the application. This worked fine for most HTTP requests but there were some cases where this did not work so well when that HTTP request first required authentication. To account for this we changed the implementation of opening a image from a popup in Explorer to use the native web browser (Safari on iOS) which handles all URL resources robustly. Hope this helps, -Brent

Erik, We did indeed address this in our latest release. I tried to update all forums on this but missed this one. Thanks for keeping me honest :-). The latest versions of Explorer in the OS X and iOS app stores will not have this issue. More specifically here are the version numbers with the fix. iOS: 10.2.5 OSX: 10.2.3 Hope this helps, -Brent
