Erik, This is a bug with the token which was originally used to authenticate your user during login. This token is expiring and the app is not prompting you to re-enter your credentials to fetch a new token. We have an update for this which is in the process of getting approved in the Apple App Store but until that update is available you will need to uninstall Explorer and reinstall from the app store. This should only take 2 or 3 minutes. Hope this helps, -Brent

Brad, This is using the geocoding service your organization is configured to use. By default it is the ArcGIS Online Geocoding Service. I could see how this might be a capability you would want to suppress for your end users and this is something we could consider in future release but currently there is no way to suppress the address being returned for feature callouts. -Brent

Tom, I should have been more clear in my original post. We are working through the issue right now and our working assumption is the problem resides with the latest update to Explorer on the iOS platform. More specifically it is how the update works with other builds of Explorer that have been previously installed on your device. You will have to uninstall Explorer on your device and reinstall the latest version of Explorer from the app store to fix the issue. -Brent

Tom, We are noticing this problem with the latest iOS update. It is related to token expiration in previous releases of Explorer on iOS . It is currently being investigated and I will update this thread when more information is known. To get around this issues please uninstall the app from your device and reinstall the latest version of Explorer for the Apple App store. This should not take too long as it is an iOS app and this will clear out your application settings. Thanks for your patience, -Brent

etyler, This was not an explicit choice to restrict zooming of hyperlink content, this was an oversight and a limitation of the control we are using to provide web content in the application. We are researching ways to provide this functionality in a different way at a future release as we can see it's obvious advantages. I will keep you posted, -Brent

etyler, This is a limitation of the control we are using to display hyperlink content which does not allow zooming. One thing we recommend is storing the schematic drawings as attachments on the feature. If done this way, when the attachment is opened up from the pop-up you will be able to interact with the file natively on the device and this will allow you to zoom and explore in greater detail. Hope this helps, -Brent

Michael, You beat me to it, if you install the certificate manually on the device you should be fine to communicate with services secured in this manner. iOS allow you to install certificates in a number of different ways one of which you mention in your solution above. It's a one time step so it should not be too troublesome. For future releases of Explorer we will augment this experience prompting you to install the certificate the first time you try to access a resource like this if possible. Thanks, -Brent

When creating a spatial view, ArcGIS will not create a spatial index (or any index) on the view (DBMS' may not support indexes on view at all unless it is a materialized view), the key aspect is to make sure the underlying database tables that are referenced in the view have the appropriate indexes. Hope this helps, -Brent

Toly, TextFileWorkspaces changed slightly in the 10.1 release of ArcGIS, if you modify your code in this way it should work in 10.1. Type factoryType = Type.GetTypeFromProgID("esriDataSourcesFile.TextFileWorkspaceFactory"); Hope this helps, -Brent

Jack, At ArcGIS 10 you should be able to use query layers to execute this type of query and return the result set as a layer in ArcMap. All the DBMS platforms we support, support the concept of cross database queries and many support queries which span multiple database server instances (an example of this technology is "Linked Servers" in SQL Server). As with anything else in the database world, the syntax varies from DBMS to DBMS but it is possible, you will just have to look up the specific syntax for the platform(s) you are working with. Hope this helps, -Brent

Demin, You should be able to use the Query Layers functionality in 10.0 to connect to the read only SQL Server database and work with objects in that database as layers in ArcMap. http://blogs.esri.com/dev/blogs/geodatabase/archive/2010/04/14/query-layers-_4000_-arcgis-10.aspx Hope this helps, -Brent
