OK I'm glad you're running smoothly now, but bummed you can't repro the past hangs you experienced. If you run into any other snags/hangs we deffo want to get the ArcMon readout so we know what's going sideways! Also FYI - patch 2.2.4 is just out today, should be showing up on MyEsri and auto-update!

OK. you mentioned in your report above that you saw things hanging in CTRL-ALT-M - can you please give us a copy/paste or screenshot of some examples of this behavior? The tasks listed in ArcMon will tell us what code is hanging and that might help troubleshoot your hang issues.

Nick, Can you either copy/paste or take a screenshot of ArcMon in the cases you see hanging tasks? I'm curious what tasks are slowing down the works - as Dan noted above SurfaceBook 2 works great for him (and we have several people on the Pro teams who have SurfaceBooks as well). Regards, Jeremy W.

The newer generation of core i7 should provide better performance, and the integrated intel graphics should actually (believe it or not) be faster than the Radeon you had before (at least looking at Passmark scores). The limiting factor with not having dedicated GPU memory is going to be situations where large amounts of data have to be passed between GPU and system memory. This is more common in 3d than in 2d. Switching to a dedicated GPU will reduce the framerate/redraw hiccups associated with these transfers, so in general will result in better performance. If this is a desktop machine, a dedicated GPU would be a worthwhile upgrade for sure. If it's a laptop and has a Thunderbolt 3 port, you _may_ be able to connect an eGPU (external GPU) to boost performance when it's connected, but be aware that this is a more costly solution since it involves both a GPU and an external enclosure typically.

Vincent, Annotation does not draw in tiles like other layers (this is to maintain the consistent representation of long text strings that may pass tile boundaries), so it has to redraw the entire screen each edit when it is invalidated (such as when you edit properties of an element). Thus, your GPU is not really a limiting factor here - it's the propagation of changes to the annotation layer and map that are triggering a redraw, though 10-15 seconds does sound like a frustratingly long delay. To minimize the effects of this try the following: 1. Make sure that ONLY the one annotation FC you are editing is visible (so that only one FC has to be invalidated) 2. Zoom in to minimize the extent you're viewing if possible to only the anno you're working with. Beyond that I'd probably suggest you contact Esri support directly so you can perform more interactive troubleshooting of the problem. Regards, Jeremy W.

OK Brian, Kepler-core GPUs are still supported, and I assume you've updated to the latest driver from NVidia.com (391.89 is the latest release)? Can you post a screenshot or video of the problem you're experiencing? The above issues look clearly like driver bugs, it sounds like yours may be something else which we've not seen locally (lots of our devs and some of our holistic lab all have Kepler-cored Quadros and do not have a problem as shown in above images). So we need a report and your help to narrow it down to fix it. Regards, Jeremy W.

Brian, do you also have a "legacy" Radeon GPU as Joao does? Did you contact support and do you have a incident number I can follow up with our support liaison? If you're using a "Legacy" GPU that means AMD isn't going to release any new driver updates for it, so the bug is unlikely to be resolved. And if it's a driver bug, there's not much ArcGIS Pro can do to resolve it. We can verify that it's a driver bug by switching to pure software rendering with a regkey, but performance for the software rendering is gonna be abysmal - the only solution is to change the GPU or find an older driver revision that doesn't have the same artifacts. Regards, Jeremy W.

These are "info" items - they're not tested. The CPU is "info" because we only specify core count, not minimum Ghz. (We may consider changing this as intel has multicore Xeons with lower clock rates.) The Video Card is "info" because the sub-requirements below are the criteria for the test. Lastly the "dedicated video ram" isn't a REQUIREMENT since you could have an integrated video card that uses system memory. However we RECOMMEND 2GB minimum dedicated VRAM as that will give you better performance than shared memory.

Jonathan, You may be experiencing BUG-000091475 - that's the only issue I found that matches your description. In any event, please submit your repro case (package your map from the Share tab to create an MPK) to Esri Support directly so we can verify that it is in fact BUG-000091475. In the meantime, you could convert your labels to annotation features - then of course their position should be immutable. Regards, Jeremy W.

LR, we'd like to know more. There are two warnings - "excessive draw requests" warning that essentially means too many draw requests are made - sometimes this is due to the symbol assigned to the layer for example. Are you getting "GPU resources exceeded" or "Excessive Draw Requests" warnings? If you've got an example (you could create a map or project package from Share tab) to send to technical support we'd be interested to see it - so please send it in so we can get a developer on it.

If you're getting an error from the GPU driver the very first thing I'd try would be updating the GPU driver from AMD or NVidia's website directly, NOT from windows update. If you could post your "can you run it" results that'd also perhaps be expository.

Joao (and Noel) this looks like a GPU driver bug. Somethings you can try: 1. Switch to OpenGL in the Project->Options->Display dialog. 2. Try a driver update from AMD for your chipset (unfortunately the Radeon is under "legacy" drivers - meaning they're not actively updated) Radeon: Legacy 3. Try going to an OLDER version of the driver (this is counter-intuitive but has been known to fix the problems in "legacy" hardware.
