Hi Charlie, Sorry that you ran into a problem. Try to verify the following: These services, in order to be used in suitability modeling, must be created using the Weighted Overlay Service Toolbox. This toolbox was recently updated, so you might want to download it again if you haven't for a few weeks. The mosaic dataset that is the data source for your image layer must have specific fields. These are created by the toolbox mentioned in step 1. Those fields are: Title,Url,InputRanges,NoDataRanges,RangeLabels,NoDataRangeLabels,OutputValues,Metadata. As long as you used the toolbox listed above, you should have those fields. The ArcGIS Server version that is supported with this functionality is 10.3 or newer. I would advise using 10.3.1 or 10.4x. If you are using 10.3x, respond to this comment and I can offer some additional information. After you share your mosaic dataset as a service, you need to add that service as an item to your ArcGIS Online organization. To do this, you need the service URL. To get the service URL: (1) In Desktop, right-click your service in your GIS Servers > Your Connection node and choose Service Properties; (2) Click Imaging under Capabilities; (3) Copy the REST URL - it should look something like http://my-server.mycompany.com/arcgis/rest/services/service-name/ImageServer. You should be able to add this URL to a web browser and view the REST item details. If your URL is localhost, you need to change it to your server name. Let me know how it goes. There are some other options as well.

We have recently posted our UC 2015 Web-based Site Suitability Analysis with Weighted Raster Overlay Services session to E380. If you missed the conference or this session, check out this video to learn about Weighted Raster Overlay Services available in GeoPlanner. The session also covers how you can use your own data to build a weighted raster overlay service. Weighted Raster Overlay Services enable you to perform suitability analysis and modeling in GeoPlanner. These services allow you to combine multiple layers in an intriguing and fun way to ask and answer geographic questions.

This issue seems to be related to accessing the app from https://geoplanner.arcgis.com. You'll be able to open and create projects if you access the app from http://geoplanner.arcgis.com. We are working to correct emails originating from Esri that have the https address. If you experience this problem, please post here and we'll work to resolve it. Regards, Rob

I mentioned in a recent post that our latest update to GeoPlanner for ArcGIS includes the ability to create web-based weighted overlay services using your data. These services allow you to perform suitability modeling so you can understand risks and opportunities in an area based on your criteria. You can make these services available to ArcGIS Online groups, organizations, or the public. This functionality supersedes the Landscape Modeler. Check out this doc to help you get started. Download this toolbox to help you setup your service.

A few weeks back, we updated GeoPlanner for ArcGIS. You may have noticed that some elements of your GeoPlanner projects look a little different. The dashboards have a new look. There's a weighted overlay service browser tool. You can even import feature layers into GeoPlanner scenarios. If you haven't checked out our product page, here's a brief what's new list: Dashboards that you can save and share with others Maximize a dashboard so you can see many KPIs at once Support for more ArcGIS Online analysis tools Import features into a scenario so you can start your designs and plans from existing conditions Perform suitability modeling against different weighted overlay services. There's actually quite a bit more. Head over to our product page to see the rest. We're also working hard to make it easy for you to setup your own weighted overlay services and use them for suitability modeling in GeoPlanner. Soon, we'll push out new documentation and tools that describe the process.
