Mike, the latest available version of the Curves And Lines Add-in for ArcMap is 4.5, updated about 8 months ago. The Simplify By Straight Lines and Circular Arcs will convert densified lines into one or more circular arc segments by fitting circular arcs to the straight-line segment sequences. However, the GP Tool will not split the circular arcs out into separate features. If that is the goal then the Split At Vertices gp tool can be run afterwards. Note also, that the Simplify By Straight Lines And Circular Arcs tool ignores polylines that have parametric geometry segments, IE circular arcs, beziers, elliptical arcs. (It’s in the help under “Usage”) -Tim

Due to reorganization of ArcMap Parcel Fabric add-in content, the back-up zip file of previous versions of this add-in has been moved here to the Esri Community. NOTE: Installing a different version of an add-in. If you are installing the add-in directly on your client machine, as opposed to placing the add-in file at a network share location, then follow these steps: First un-install the version currently on the client machine. 1. In ArcMap go to Customize -> Add-in Manager 2. On the Add-ins tab click to select the add-in you want to un-install, and then click the Delete button. 3. Click Yes on the dialog that asks for confirmation on the delete. 4. Click Close. 5. Close ArcMap. 6. Start ArcMap and use Add-in Manager to confirm the add-in is not listed under the My Add-ins section of the left pane. 7. Close ArcMap. 8. Double-click the add-in file for the version of the add-in that you want to install. 9. Click the Install Add-in button. 10. Start ArcMap and use Add-in Manager to confirm that the desired version of the add-in is now listed under My Add-ins. Troubleshooting Notes: A. if problems are encountered when attemping to run the add-in, check to make sure you have privileges on the well-known folder. You should be able to browse to the file add-in location on disk, in the well-known folder: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\ArcGIS\AddIns\Desktop10.<0-1>\ B. Alternatively, consider using a network share for your add-in, and follow the steps below. If you use a network share to load the add-in, then follow these steps: 1. In ArcMap go to Customize -> Add-in Manager. 2. In the left pane on the Add-ins tab, scroll down to the Shared Add-ins. 3. Under Shared Add-ins, click on the add-in name that you want to change and confirm the add-in version in the right pane is the one you want to change from. 4. Click the Options tab on the Add-in Manager and get the share location for the add-in you want to change from. 4. Click Close on the Add-in Manager and close ArcMap. 5. Using the required privileges, browse to the share location and replace the add-in file with the version of the add-in file that you want to change to. 6. Start ArcMap and use Add-in Manager to confirm that the desired version of the add-in is now listed under Shared Add-ins. General notes and resources: A. See the Administrator Settings heading under the help section here: https://bit.ly/2XD5mb8 B. Additional uninstall and re-install steps:https://bit.ly/2xN8dPy

On occasion you may encounter circular arcs in your ArcMap Parcel Fabric that have geometry that becomes reversed when it is joined into the fabric. The original cause of the problem has been addressed in 10.6.1. The video will be useful if you have data with curves like that this that were created in releases prior to 10.6.1. The workarounds presented also work for fixing these curve while using earlier releases of the software, back to 10.4. This problem occurs for circular arcs that have deltas \ central angles close to 180°. The COGO attributes for the circular arc are valid, and the joining geometry shows the curve correctly but once it is joined to the of the fabric the arc is flipped onto the other side of the chord. This video shows the scenario for how this occurs, and also a couple of alternatives on how to fix the problem.

Hi Mike, you can use the Delete Identical to specify other fields along with the test for shape. So for example, if lines have identical geometry, but you'd like to keep all the identical shape lines if their distances are different, then add the "Distance" field (and "ArcLength" field) to the Delete Identical field parameter list: For your historical example, if you have carried over the "Historical" field intact, then you could also use that field in the parameter field list. Then even if all other values and geometry are the same, since "Historical=1" <> "Historical=NULL" (or 0) they would not get removed. What would be a bit more challenging is if you have lines with the identical distance, but with differing record directions. This is trickier because we know that many truly identical lines will have directions that are 180 degrees different, and so using the Direction field would keep lines that you really wanted to remove. One possible solution to that would be to first create and calculate to a separate field only the decimal portion of the Directions, and then run Delete Identical using that field. Similar issue for circular arcs and using Radius field, because of the positive/negative radius value.

Hi Anne, this problem has been reported previously, and was fixed in 10.6.1. (Reference: BUG-000099453) If you are already at 10.6.1 or higher, then please respond here to let us know. Otherwise if you are working on a release earlier than 10.6.1, there is possibly a workaround, but I'd need to research it further before providing the steps, and I may also need your data as well to confirm it's the same issue and to confirm that the workaround is valid. I'll message you so we can figure out next steps. -Tim

Hello Jeff, sorry for the delay. A good place to get answers to parcel fabric questions is on the Land Records group: Land Records For your question: 1. you could start by looking at the properties of your geodatabase, and look at the Upgrade Status. If it can be upgraded you will see the Upgrade Geodatabase button on the properties page: 2.a) Next open the feature dataset's properties: ...and b) check to see if the Geometry properties have Storage as High Precision: If the precision is not set as High, then you will need to run the Upgrade Spatial Reference GP Tool: -Tim
