The Copy Runtime Geodatabase to File Geodatabase tool is super picky - I've had the best success moving the runtime geodatabase to a folder on my desktop and saving the FGDB to the same spot. I don' think I've ever had it run successfully on a network drive.

Ahh - gottcha... what is the source of the failures? In my experience these are pretty infrequent once you get past the typical development issues. You could chain the database saves together and roll them back manually if one fails -- basically delete the previously saved features if you hit an issue.

It's not really accessible on the device - but when you sync you can grab a copy of the delta database from the upload location: \\serverName\ArcGISServer\directories\arcgissystem\arcgisuploads\services\folder\serviceName.FeatureServer\uploadID\ This folder will contain a .geodatabase named with your replicaID that can be converted to a FGDB. We've found this endlessly helpful when trying to diagnose sync errors.

If you don't mind me asking - what is it about the data that requires you to save everything at the same time? Could you persist some data throughout the editing view workflow to make sure everything is saved with the correct foreign keys in place to maintain your relationships?

I'm very curious to know if this is possible - our current solution is to just buy really big iPads 🙂

Is GNSS Status the Trimble app? I notice a mention here: http://anatumfieldsolutions.com/2016/03/14/submeter-gnss-field-tested-compared/ They reference an issue with Trimble reporting a higher accuracy level in their app than the data would support.

Yes but this cannot be done on the device and requires a network connection.

Any chance we could get an additional capability in the SDK to return the closest feature in a AGSGDBFeatureTable for a given point? Right now the only way I can figure out to do this is to do a measure to every feature and find the shortest distance. This is rather expensive, especially if you are working with a large address point layer or roadway stations. Things can be more efficient by first creating a buffer of X distance from your location, selecting all points within the buffer, then calculating the closest feature from that subset... but it's still a rather complex undertaking for something that is pretty standard fare for GIS.

Please change this behavior. This is beyond frustrating. We have URLs in attributes and regardless of our user's default browser AGS Pro opens the links in IE.

We generally keep our database in WGS84 and then publish the map services in Web Mercator, but you might go right to Web Mercator if you want to keep it simple.

I'd consider projecting your data to WGS84 prior to uploading to AGOL - then reprojecting the results back to state plane after you pull the results back down. That way you can control the transformations being used. Just a thought.

How are you creating gdbPath? If it is the documents path keep in mind that this is unique for each session on the device. The app runs under a different instance ID each time so you should get the path to the documents directory using something like this: NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(.DocumentDirectory, .UserDomainMask, true)[0] as! NSString

I agree with your sentiment - just wanted to point out that there isn't technically a wireless connection requirement, just a network connection requirement. Adapters (at least in iOS) are available to connect to a network via Ethernet, which should be a good solution for syncing in environments where wifi is not possible. It will probably also help when syncing large numbers of photos, however I think a real improvement to workflows with large numbers of photos is probably dependent on improvements on the server side...

There are a lot of variables that can affect the accuracy, but with SBAS you are probably looking at a best case scenario of .5 meter XY accuracy and 1.5 - 2 meter vertical accuracy
