Not having the ability for users to enter and locate and enter MGRS / USNG coordinates severely handicaps SAR missions and responding to real world emergencies. Just having an overlay of the grid is somewhat helpful but a widget that actually locates the coordinates and or converts them back and forth is very essential to disaster response and emergency management. To work without this tool (widget) is really a disservice to all concerned in the interest of public safety.

Yes aware of the zip requirements and the issues of coordinate conversion. I am trying to get things to work on a local install of Portal and not have to federate the Portal with the Arc Server.

Ah that explains it - we are using a local install of Portal for Arc GIS not the AGOL cloud solution.

I am just trying to get the AddData widget to work to add a shapefile - are you working in a federated or non federated environment?

Has anyone been able to get this widget to work without Federating your Portal for ArcGIS? I get the data store would need to be installed and configured but in reviewing the information for configuring it states that you need to Federate your portal.

Yes - my old setup I had on a hard server did not require this but since we moved the installation to the Azure cloud and setup a 2 server configuration the issue has now developed. I am assuming it is either the issue with our configuration or a change in the widget in the v2.3 WAB - I was running the v2.2 WAB on our old setup. Was going to try the WAB v2.2 on the Azure deployment and check to see if it worked but am suspecting it will not and will have to setup the store to get things to work.

Andrew I installed as a stand alone license - I did not install the License Manager - which I have no experience with in the Azure Cloud structure. I learned from our internal Hyper-V system that the IP for what ever server is running the LM has to be STATIC coded IP - the default was dynamic and it broke the LM every time the server rebooted it grabbed a new IP and broke the hashing the LM install does - simple fix was to hard code the IP. Also the machines I have in the Azure Cloud are static coded internal IP's.

Having a software package they would enable one to create custom icons or true type fonts for symbols that is native to the ESRI software platforms 1. Create native ttf files to use and share 2. Edit existing styles a. Directly b. Import an existing copy of 3. Export to style file With the many types of information or variations needed to convey information having a tool I think would enhance the user / customer experience. I have ran into the issue of needing a symbol to convey information that no symbol exists or the user / customer base asks for a custom icon

The deployment we have in the Azure cloud is a front end IIS and a backend DB/Arc Server machine - I deployed a stand alone license (ArcDesktop Advanced) on the DB machine to handle tasks for DB administration and creating maps for publishing services - the DB machine is not open to the internet meaning it is not accessible from outside Azure but the server can see out to the internet. I have not performed any real intensive tasks yet so I may hit a snag but so far no issues. Everything I do on the system is via RDP and lag time is just a factor of the internet but no significant to bother me.
