The parcel fabric does not directly work with CAD data. Cad data needs to be migrated into the parcel fabric as parcels OR entered using the parcel traverse or parcel construction tools. Parcels in the parcel fabric do not work with the standard editor or standard editing tools. Data must be loaded into the parcel fabric data model and must work with the parcel fabric toolbar. This is by design. The workflow link Dan pasted below shows how to build a new subdivision from cad data. But you cannot work with parcel fabric parcels and standalone CAD data using the same tools. All data must be in the parcel fabric data model.

The common boundary must be entered. When creating a new parcel in the fabric you must enter the whole complete traverse - all the boundaries must be entered. The parcel must close back onto the starting point. The parcel is then joined to the parcel fabric layer. This is by design. New parcels are never "auto-completed" by any tool. The parcel boundaries must be entered and reflect the dimensions on the legal recorded document. Each shared boundary in the fabric consists of two lines - one for each parcel sharing the boundary. Joining takes care of stitching the parcels together About joining parcels—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop

When you enter a parcel in the parcel fabric, you must enter the WHOLE COMPLETE traverse loop. Even if the parcel shares a boundary, you still must enter the whole parcel traverse, close it and then join it. There is no auto-complete polygon feature in the parcel fabric. The idea is that boundaries should reflect the record dimensions and thus must be entered by the user. Autocomplete will not ensure that dimensions in the fabric match dimensions in the plan (legal document). Christine

Hi You should definitely be able to select parcels in a parcel fabric with the Select Parcel Features tool. One thing to check - is the parcels sublayer selectable? Also, for overlapping parcels, you should be able to use the selection chip to select the parcels you want. YOu must be in an edit session for the selection chip to show up. Christine

Hi Aaron You do not have to use the LGIM to leverage the power of the parcel fabric. You can extend the parcel fabric using your own fields and related tables or you can edit and customize the LGIM. It will not affect the functionality available in the parcel fabric. Just one thing to note, if you dont enable the information model on your parcel fabric you wont be able to use the automated workflows that come with enabling the model. However the steps in these workflows are documented and these workflows can be implemented manually using the parcel fabric tools. Hi Conor ArcGIS Pro 1.1 supports parcel viewing (2D & 3D) but does not support the parcel editing workflows currently present in Esri’s ArcMap parcel editing solution. ArcGIS pro will support parcel editing in future releases but I cannot provide any information on which future release that will be at this stage. You should continue to use ArcMap to maintain parcel information until parcel fabric editing is supported in ArcGIS Pro. Christine

Hi Matt There are a few things you can try: First select the records in the table and then open the Parcel Explorer - the selected parcels should show up. Right-click and click Delete to delete parcels in the Parcel Explorer. As for the add in, it should delete 0 area parcels. It may not be working because the selected parcels are under a group layer. You may need a single, non-grouped Easements layer for the Add In to work you can try and see if the Delete Parcel Fabric records will detect these inconsistent parcels and delete them. The add in will detect theses parcels IF they have no lines. However if their parcel fabric structure is intact, they wont be detected. With the Add In installed, right-click the parcel fabric in the Catalog window and click Inconsistent Records -> Full Fabric scan. Make sure the Parcels that have no lines option is chosen, click Next and then Delete. If these parcels do have lines you can try re-generate their geometry: Select the records in the table and the Regenerate parcel fabric command. Hope this helps Christine Parcel Editor team

Hi Brian To align the parcels to your new subdivision polygon, you can join the polygon and check the "Joining points held fixed at map position" option. Then establish your join links. The join links will be used to move the parcels to the subdivision polygon. You do need to know the where your fixed map position is for your polygon. Does this help? Christine Parcel Editing team
